[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ mentioned the Dajjal (Antichrist) one morning, and he lowered his voice when discussing him, and then raised it again until we thought he was in the cluster of palm trees. He said, "The Antichrist is certainly a greater danger to me than to you. If he appears while I am among you, I will be his protector, and if he appears while I am not among you, then each person will be his own protector. Indeed, Allah is my successor over every Muslim. He is a man of fair complexion, with the eye of his right cheek resembling a protruding grape, and he has the capability to compare himself to the false deity `Abdul-`Uzza Ibn Qatan. Say, "I seek refuge in the noble face of Allah and His perfect words from the evil of what descends from the sky and what ascends therein, and from the evil of what is spread in the earth and what comes out of it, and from the trials of the night and the day, and from the evil of those who blow on knots, and from the evil of an envier when he envies, O Rahman (the Most Merciful), then the Afrit fell on his face and his flame went out." Messenger of Allah ﷺ deputed me to keep Sadaqat (al-Fitr) of Ramadan. A comer came and started taking handfuls of the foodstuff (of the Sadaqa) (stealthily). I took hold of him and said, "By Allah, I will take you to Messenger of Allah ﷺ ." He said, "I am needy and have many dependents, and I am in great need." I released him, and in the morning Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked me, "What did your prisoner do yesterday?" I said, "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! The person complained of being needy and of having many dependents, so, I pitied him and let him go." Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, he told you a lie and he will be coming again." I believed that he would show up again as Messenger of Allah ﷺ had told me that he would return. So, I waited for him watchfully. When he (showed up and) started stealing handfuls of foodstuff, I caught hold of him again and said, "I will definitely take you to Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He said, "Leave me, for I am very needy and have many dependents. I promise I will not come back again." I pitied him and let him go. In the morning Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked me, "What did your prisoner do." I replied, "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! He complained of his great need and of too many dependents, so I took pity on him and set him free." Allah's Apostle said, "Verily, he told you a lie and he will return." I waited for him attentively for the third time, and when he (came and) started stealing handfuls of the foodstuff, I caught hold of him and said, "I will surely take you to Messenger of Allah ﷺ as it is the third time you promise not to return, yet you break your promise and come." He said, "(Forgive me and) I will teach you some words with which Allah will benefit you." I asked, "What are they?" He replied, "Whenever you go to bed, recite "Ayat-al-Kursi"-- 'Allahu la ilaha illa huwa-l-Haiy-ul Qaiyum' till you finish the whole verse. (If you do so), Allah will appoint a guard for you who will stay with you and no satan will come near you till morning. " So, I released him. In the morning, Allah's Apostle asked, "What did your prisoner do yesterday?" I replied, "He claimed that he would teach me some words by which Allah will benefit me, so I let him go." Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked, "What are they?" I replied, "He said to me, 'Whenever you go to bed, recite Ayat-al-Kursi from the beginning to the end ---- Allahu la ilaha illa huwa-lHaiy-ul-Qaiyum----.' He further said to me, '(If you do so), Allah will appoint a guard for you who will stay with you, and no satan will come near you till morning.' (Abu Huraira or another sub-narrator) added that they (the companions) were very keen to do good deeds. The Prophet ﷺ said, "He really spoke the truth, although he is an absolute liar. Do you know whom you were talking to, these three nights, O Abu Huraira?" Abu Huraira said, "No." He said, "It was Satan." (Using translation from Bukhārī 2311)

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out to the trench, and while he was there, a young man from the Ansar came to him, requesting permission to speak with his family about a marriage contract. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ granted him permission. The young man approached his wife, who was positioned between two doorways. He leaned towards her with his spear, intending to stab her, but she said, "Do not rush, wait until you enter and look." He entered and found a coiled snake on their bed. When he saw it, he directed his spear at it, and the snake writhed on the spear until it died. The young man fell dead. This was reported to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , who said, "Indeed, among the jinn in Madinah, there are those who have embraced Islam. If you see anything from them, give them three days of respite. If you find them to be a danger, then kill them, for they are demons."

Once I went (from Medina) towards (Al-Ghaba) before the first Adhan of the Fajr Prayer. The shecamels of Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to graze at a place called Dhi-Qarad. A slave of ʿAbdur-Rahman bin ʿAuf met me (on the way) and said, "The she-camels of Messenger of Allah ﷺ had been taken away by force." I asked, "Who had taken them?" He replied "(The people of) Ghatafan." I made three loud cries (to the people of Medina) saying, "O Sabahah!" I made the people between the two mountains of Medina hear me. Then I rushed onward and caught up with the robbers while they were watering the camels. I started throwing arrows at them as I was a good archer and I was saying, "I am the son of Al-Akwaʿ, and today will perish the wicked people." I kept on saying like that till I restored the shecamels (of the Prophet), I also snatched thirty Burda (i.e. garments) from them. Then the Prophet ﷺ and the other people came there, and I said, "O Allah's Prophet! I have stopped the people (of Ghatafan) from taking water and they are thirsty now. So send (some people) after them now." On that the Prophet said, "O the son of Al-Akwaʿ! You have over-powered them, so forgive them." Then we all came back and Messenger of Allah ﷺ seated me behind him on his she-camel till we entered Medina. (Using translation from Bukhārī 4194)
