[Machine] A Jewish person came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "You both swear and commit shirk (associate partners with Allah). You say 'If Allah wills and you will,' and you also say 'By the Kaaba.' The Prophet ﷺ instructed them that when they want to swear an oath, they should say 'By the Lord of the Kaaba' and then say 'If Allah wills and you will.'"

Then, Ahmad bin Hafs narrated to us, saying: My father narrated to me from Ibrahim bin Tahman, from Mughira, from Ma'bad bin Khalid, from Qutayla, who was a woman from the Muhajirat (those who migrated from Makkah to Madinah) from Juhayna. She said, "A Jewish woman entered upon Aisha and said, 'You both commit shirk (associate partners with Allah).' And she narrated the rest of the story."

Some of the companions of the Prophet ﷺ came across a tribe amongst the tribes of the Arabs, and that tribe did not entertain them. While they were in that state, the chief of that tribe was bitten by a snake (or stung by a scorpion). They said, (to the companions of the Prophet ﷺ ), "Have you got any medicine with you or anybody who can treat with Ruqya?" The Prophet's companions said, "You refuse to entertain us, so we will not treat (your chief) unless you pay us for it." So they agreed to pay them a flock of sheep. One of them (the Prophet's companions) started reciting Surat-al-Fatiha and gathering his saliva and spitting it (at the snake-bite). The patient got cured and his people presented the sheep to them, but they said, "We will not take it unless we ask the Prophet (whether it is lawful)." When they asked him, he smiled and said, "How do you know that Surat-al-Fatiha is a Ruqya? Take it (flock of sheep) and assign a share for me." (Using translation from Bukhārī 5736)

One of the men from the tribe was either bitten or stung by something, so they asked the companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ if any of them knew how to perform Rukyah (healing through recitation of Qur'an and supplications). One of them said yes, and he came to their companion, recited Surah Al-Fatiha, and the man was cured. As a gratitude, the people of the tribe offered them a flock of sheep, but the companion refused to accept it until he consulted the Prophet ﷺ. He narrated the incident to the Prophet ﷺ, who laughed and said, "How did you know that it (Surah Al-Fatiha) is Rukyah?" Then the Prophet ﷺ said, "Take the flock of sheep and give me a share with you."

[Machine] About some of the wives of the Prophet ﷺ, it was narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said, "Do you have any children?" She replied, "Yes." So he called for the child and placed the child between two of his fingers on his foot. Then he said, "O Allah, diminish the major one and magnify the minor one, remove it from me." So it was extinguished.

We proceeded from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and came to a clan of the Arabs. They said: We have been told that you have brought what is good from this man. Have you any medicine or a charm, for we have a lunatic in chains? We said: Yes. Then they brought a lunatic in chains. He said: I recited Surat al-Fatihah over him for three days, morning and evening. Whenever I finished it, I would collect my saliva and spit it out, and he seemed as if he were set free from a bond. He said: They gave me some payment, but I said: No, not until I ask the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He (the Prophet) said: Accept it, for, by my life, some accept it for a worthless charm, but you have done so for a genuine one. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 3901)

He was seized with a fit of sneezing, so I called him but he did not respond to me, so I went to the Prophet ﷺ and told him about it. He said, "Come with me." So he raised his garment from his ankles until he dipped them in water, so it was as if I was looking at the clarity of the Prophet's ankles. He struck his chest and said, "In the name of Allah, O Allah, remove its heat, coldness, and wetness, by the permission of Allah." So he got up and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If any one of you sees something in himself or his wealth or his brother that impresses him, let him seek blessings, for verily the evil eye is true."
