53. Actions to Perform Day and Night

٥٣۔ كِتَابُ عَمَلِ الْيَوْمِ وَاللَّيْلَةِ عَوْنُكَ يَا رَبِّ عَلَى مَا بَقِيَ

53.2 [Machine] The reward of the one who says in the morning and in the evening: "I am pleased with Allah as my Lord, Islam as my religion, and Muhammad ﷺ as my Prophet.

٥٣۔٢ ثَوَابُ مَنْ قَالَ حِينَ يُصْبِحُ، وَحِينَ يُمْسِي: رَضِيتُ بِاللهِ رَبًّا، وَبِالْإِسْلَامِ دِينًا، وَبِمُحَمَّدٍ ﷺ نَبِيًّا

[Machine] "He was in the mosque of Hims when a man passed by, so I stood up to him and said to him, 'Tell me a hadith that you heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that has not been transmitted by other men.' He said, 'I came to the Prophet ﷺ while he was saying, 'There is no Muslim slave who, in the morning and evening, says, 'I am pleased with Allah as my Lord, with Islam as my religion, and with Muhammad ﷺ as my Prophet,' except that it is incumbent upon Allah to please him on the Day of Resurrection.' " This mentions the disagreement between 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Shurayh and 'Abdullah ibn Wahb over a news report from Abu Hanifah about Abu Sa'id al-Khudri.

أَنَّهُ كَانَ فِي مَسْجِدِ حِمْصَ فَمَرَّ رَجُلٌ فَقُمْتُ إِلَيْهِ فَقُلْتُ حَدِّثْنِي حَدِيثًا سَمِعْتَهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ لَمْ تَدَاوَلَهُ الرِّجَالُ بَيْنَكَ وَبَيْنَهُ قَالَ أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ مَا مِنْ عَبْدٍ مُسْلِمٍ يَقُولُ حِينَ يُصْبِحُ ثَلَاثًا وَحِينَ يُمْسِي رَضِيتُ بِاللهِ رَبًّا وَبِالْإِسْلَامِ دِينًا وَبِمُحَمَّدٍ ﷺ نَبِيًّا إِلَّا كَانَ حَقًّا عَلَى اللهِ أَنْ يُرْضِيَهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ [7] ذِكْرُ اخْتِلَافِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ شُرَيْحٍ وَعَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ وَهْبٍ عَلَى أَبِي هَانِئٍ فِي خَبَرِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ فِيهِ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever says, 'I am pleased with Allah as my Lord, Islam as my religion, and Muhammad ﷺ as my Messenger,' Paradise becomes obligatory for him." I (Abu Hurairah) said, "So I rejoiced at that and was pleased with it." Abdullah bin Wahb contradicted him, narrating it from Abu Hanifah, from Abu Abdur Rahman, from Abu Sa'id.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ قَالَ رَضِيتُ بِاللهِ رَبًّا وَبِالْإِسْلَامِ دِينًا وَبِمُحَمَّدٍ ﷺ رَسُولًا وَجَبَتْ لَهُ الْجَنَّةُ قَالَ فَفَرِحْتُ بِذَلِكَ وَسُرِرْتُ بِهِ خَالَفَهُ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ رَوَاهُ عَنْ أَبِي هَانِئٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "O Abu Sa'id, whoever is pleased with Allah as his Lord, Islam as his religion, and Muhammad as his Prophet, Paradise will be mandatory for him." Abu Sa'id marveled at this and said, "Repeat it for me, O Messenger of Allah." So, he did.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «يَا أَبَا سَعِيدٍ مَنْ رَضِيَ بِاللهِ رَبًّا وَبِالْإِسْلَامِ دِينًا وَبِمُحَمَّدٍ نَبِيًّا وَجَبَتْ لَهُ الْجَنَّةُ» فَعَجِبَ لَهَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ قَالَ أَعِدْهَا عَلَيَّ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ فَفَعَلَ
