[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ entered upon him and said, "O Allah, remove the harm from the people from Thabit bin Qais bin Shammas." Then he took some soil from the Buhhannan and put it in a cup of water and poured it over him. Ibn Juraij disagreed with him about the number 10813. Ali bin Sahl reported to us, he said Hajjaj informed us, he said Ibn Juraij informed me, he said Amro bin Yahya bin Umara informed me, he said Yusuf bin Muhammad bin Thabit bin Qais bin Shammas informed me that the Prophet ﷺ sent Thabit bin Qais to him.
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to say when he visited a sick person, "Take away the suffering, O Lord of mankind, and heal, for You are the Healer, a healing that leaves no sickness behind." And Hammad said, "There is no healing except Your healing. Grant a healing that leaves no sickness behind."

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ used to sit by the head of the sick person and say seven times, "I ask Allah the Mighty, the Lord of the Great Throne, to heal you. If it is in His destined time, may you be relieved from your pain."
The Prophet ﷺ said: If anyone visits a sick whose time (of death) has not come, and says with him seven times: I ask Allah, the Mighty, the Lord of the mighty Throne, to cure you, Allah will cure him from that disease. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 3106)

[Machine] Narrated by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ , he said, "If one of you becomes sick and his appointed time of death has not arrived, let him say, 'I ask Allah, the Great, the Lord of the Great Throne, to heal me seven times, as Allah has healed (prophet) Ayub.'” (Hadith 10818). Abdus Samad ibn Abdul Wahhab reported that Is'haq ibn Ibrahim narrated to them, who narrated from Muhammad ibn Shu'ayb, from a man, from Shu'bah, from Maysarah, from Al-Minhāl, with similar wording, without mentioning 'seven times' (Hadith 10819). Zakariya ibn Yahya reported that Abu Bakr al-Adami narrated to him, who reported from Ahmad ibn Humaid, who reported from Al-Ashja'i, from Shu'bah, from Maysarah, from Al-Minhāl, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn Abbas, that the Prophet ﷺ said similar words.

(Using translation from Tirmidhī 2083)

The Prophet ﷺ said, "None of you should say Khabuthat Nafsi, but he is recommended to say 'Laqisat Nafsi." (Using translation from Bukhārī 6179)
53.358 [Machine] The mention of discrepancy regarding Az-Zuhri in this hadith.

The Prophet ﷺ said, "None of you should say Khabuthat Nafsi, but he is recommended to say 'Laqisat Nafsi." (Using translation from Bukhārī 6179)
None of you must say Khabuthat nafsi (My heart is heaving), but one should say Laqisat nafsi (My heart is being annoyed). (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4978)
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "None of you should say, 'I am evil by nature,' but let him say, 'I am weak in my self-control.'"
53.359 [Machine] What is said when a crisis occurs, it descends with it
Did you supplicate for anything or beg of Him about that? He said: Yes. I used to utter (these words): Impose punishment upon me earlier in this world, what Thou art going to impose upon me in the Hereafter. Thereupon Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Hallowed be Allah, you have neither the power nor forbearance to take upon yourself (the burden of His Punishment). Why did you not say this: O Allah, grant us good in the world and good in the Hereafter, and save us from the torment of Fire. He (the Holy Prophet) made this supplication (for him) and he was all right. (Using translation from Muslim 2688a)
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to frequently supplicate, "Our Lord, grant us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and protect us from the punishment of the Fire." Shu'bah said, "I mentioned this to Qatadah and he said, Anas used to supplicate with this."
[Machine] The prophet entered upon a man who was sick. The man appeared to be disheveled, so the prophet asked him, "Have you asked your Lord for anything?" The man replied, "Yes, I asked Allah not to punish me in the Hereafter and to give me my reward in this world." The prophet said, "Glory be to Allah! Did you not say: 'Our Lord, give us good in this world and good in the Hereafter'?" The man then repeated the supplication, and he was granted his request.
Which Supplication would the Prophet ﷺ often make ? He replied: The supplication he would usually recite was: "O Allah, give us in this world what is good and in the next what is good, and protect us from the punishment of Hell-fire". The version of Ziyad adds: When Anas wished to supplicate, he uttered this supplication. When he uttered some other supplication, he combined it with this supplication. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1519)
53.360 [Machine] What does he say when he is afflicted with harm
Messenger of Allah ﷺ said," None of you should long for death because of a calamity that had befallen him, and if he cannot, but long for death, then he should say, 'O Allah! Let me live as long as life is better for me, and take my life if death is better for me.' " (Using translation from Bukhārī 6351)
I fell sick and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed by me when I was saying O Allah, if my time has come then grant me relief; if it has not yet come then raise me in status; and if this is a trial then grant me patience. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “What did you say?” He repeated to him what he had said, and he nudged him with his foot and said: ʿO Allah, grant him well beingʿ or “O Allah, heal him.” - Shuʿbah was not certain. He [‘Ali] said: And I never suffered that sickness again after that. (Using translation from Aḥmad 841)

53.362 [Machine] What does the patient say when asked, "How do you feel?
“How do you feel?” He said: “I have hope in Allah, O Messenger of Allah, but I fear my sins.” The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “These two things (hope and fear) do not coexist in the heart of a person in a situation like this, but Allah will give him that which he hopes for and keep him safe from that which he fears.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 4261)
53.363 [Machine] The prohibition of cursing fever.
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ entered upon one of his wives while he was sick and had a fever. He asked his wife, "Is this the fever of Mildaam?" The woman replied, "Yes." Upon hearing her response, the Prophet ﷺ cursed her. He then said, "Do not curse her, for she washes away or takes away the sins of the children of Adam, just as the bellows remove the impurities from iron."
53.364 [Machine] What does he say to the fearful?
[Machine] I heard Jadah, a man from the Banu Jusham ibn Mu'awiyah, saying: "Indeed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was approached by a man, and they said, 'This man intends to kill the Messenger of Allah ﷺ .' Then, the Prophet ﷺ began saying, 'You will never be able to do so, you will never be able to do so. If you had intended to do so, Allah would not have allowed you.'"
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ had the most beautiful face, the most courageous chest, and the bravest heart. The people of the city were alarmed one night, so he came out and rode a bare horse for Abu Talha. He said, "Why are you not concerned? Why are you not concerned? I found it to be a sea."
[Machine] I was playing with Qutham and Ubaidullah when the Prophet ﷺ came and said, "Carry this." Then he said, "Carry this." Qutham carried it behind him without feeling ashamed before his uncle Abbas. And Ubaidullah was more beloved to Abbas than Qutham, so he wiped his head three times and said, "O Allah, make Jafar succeed in his offspring." I asked, "What happened to Qutham?" He said, "He was martyred." I said, "Allah and His Messenger knew best." He said, "Indeed."
53.365 [Machine] What to say when a calamity afflicts him
[Machine] About the Prophet ﷺ said, "Don't you find it amazing that when a believer experiences something good, they praise and thank Allah, and when they face a calamity, they still praise Allah and show patience? The believer is rewarded for every deed, even for a morsel of food they raise to their mouth."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , passed by a grave where a woman was crying. The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said to her, "Fear Allah and be patient." She said, "And you do not care about my calamity." When he passed by her again, it was said to her, "This is the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ ."
I heard the Prophet ﷺ , who was resting against me, saying, "O Allah! Excuse me and bestow Your Mercy on me and let me join with the highest companions (in Paradise)." See Qur'an (4.69) (Using translation from Bukhārī 5674)
[Machine] That the Prophet, ﷺ , when he became sick with the illness in which he died, he said, "O Allah, forgive me and place me among the highest companions."
