[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said on the night of the jinn, while he was with Jibril and I was with him, the Prophet ﷺ began reciting and the Afrit drew closer and got closer. Then Jibril said to the Prophet ﷺ , "Shall I teach you some words that if you say them, the Afrit will fall on his face and his flame will go out?" Say, "I seek refuge in the noble face of Allah and His perfect words from the evil of what descends from the sky and what ascends therein, and from the evil of what is spread in the earth and what comes out of it, and from the trials of the night and the day, and from the evil of those who blow on knots, and from the evil of an envier when he envies, O Rahman (the Most Merciful), then the Afrit fell on his face and his flame went out." Malik Ibn Anas went against him and Al-Harith Ibn Maskeen recited it in a different way. Ibn Al-Qasim reported to me that Malik narrated to us from Yahya Ibn Sa'id, who said, "I was taken on a journey with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and I saw a jinn seeking him with a torch of fire. Whenever the Prophet ﷺ turned, he would see him. So Jibril ﷺ said to him and recited the hadith."

Yahya related to me from Malik that Yahya ibn Said said, "When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was taken on the Night Journey, he saw an evil jinn seeking him with a torch of fire. Whenever the Messenger of Allah ﷺ turned, he saw him. Jibril said to him, 'Shall I teach you some words to say? When you say them, his torch will be put out and will fall from him.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Yes, indeed.' Jibril said, 'Say, 'I seek refuge with the Noble Face of Allah and with the complete words of Allah which neither the good person nor the corrupt can exceed, from the evil of what descends from the sky and the evil of what ascends in it, and from the evil of what is created in the earth and the evil of what comes out of it, and from the trials of the night and day, and from the visitations of the night and day, except for one that knocks with good, O Merciful!" "' Audhu bi wajhi'llahi' l-karim wa bi kalimati'llahi't-tammati.
