[Machine] "When the Prophet ﷺ heard thunder and saw lightning, he would say, 'O Allah, do not let us be killed by anger or vengeance. Grant us safety before that.'"  

الكبرى للنسائي:١٠٦٩٧أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ حَرْبٍ الْمَرْوَزِيِّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سَيَّارُ بْنُ حَاتِمٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ بْنُ زِيَادٍ عَنْ أَبِي مَطَرٍ عَنْ سَالِمٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا سَمِعَ الرَّعْدَ وَالْبُرُوقَ قَالَ «اللهُمَّ لَا تَقْتُلْنَا غَضَبًا وَلَا تَقْتُلْنَا نِقْمَةً وَعَافِنَا قَبْلَ ذَلِكَ»

from his father, that when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would hear the sound of thunder and lightning bolts, he would say: “O Allah, do not kill us with Your wrath, and do not destroy us with Your punishment, and pardon us before that (Allāhumma lā taqtulnā bi-ghaḍabika wa lā tuhliknā bi-ʿadhābika wa ʿāfinā qabla dhālik).” (Using translation from Tirmidhī 3450)
