"O Allah, I ask you from the good with which it is sent and I seek your protection from the evil with which it is sent".

عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِذَا هَاجَتْ رِيحٌ شَدِيدَةٌ قَالَ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ خَيْرِ مَا أُرْسِلَتْ بِهِ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا أُرْسِلَتْ بِهِ

(O Allah! We ask you the good of this wind and the good of what is therein and the good with which it is sent.)

عَنْ أَبِي قَالَ لاَ تَسُبُّوا الرِّيحَ فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمْ مِنْهَا مَا تَكْرَهُونَ فَقُولُوا اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّا نَسْأَلُكَ خَيْرَ هَذِهِ الرِّيحِ وَخَيْرَ مَا فِيهَا وَخَيْرَ مَا أُرْسِلَتْ بِهِ وَنَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ هَذِهِ الرِّيحِ وَشَرِّ مَا فِيهَا وَشَرِّ مَا أُرْسِلَتْ بِهِ

"Do not curse the wind. When you see what you dislike, then say: 'Allahumma inna nas-aluka min khairi hadhihir-rih, wa khairi ma fiha wa khairi ma umirat bihi wa na'udhu bika min sharri hadhihir-rih wa sharri ma fiha wa sharri ma umirat bihi' ('O Allah! Indeed we ask you of the good of this wind, and the good of what is in it, and the good of what it has been commanded. And we seek refuge in You from the evil of this wind, and the evil of what is in it, and the evil of what it has been commanded.)"

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لاَ تَسُبُّوا الرِّيحَ فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمْ مَا تَكْرَهُونَ فَقُولُوا اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّا نَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ خَيْرِ هَذِهِ الرِّيحِ وَخَيْرِ مَا فِيهَا وَخَيْرِ مَا أُمِرَتْ بِهِ وَنَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ هَذِهِ الرِّيحِ وَشَرِّ مَا فِيهَا وَشَرِّ مَا أُمِرَتْ بِهِ قَالَ وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ وَأَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ وَعُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي الْعَاصِي وَأَنَسٍ وَابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ وَجَابِرٍ

“When the Prophet ﷺ would see the wind he would say: ‘O Allah, indeed, I ask You for its good, the good of what is in it, and the good of what it has been sent with. And I seek refuge in You from its evil, the evil of what is in it, and the evil of what it has been sent with (Allāhumma innī as’aluka min khairihā wa khairi mā fīhā, wa khairi mā ursilat bihī, wa aʿūdhu bika min sharrihā wa sharri mā fīhā, wa sharri mā ursilat bih).’”

كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِذَا رَأَى الرِّيحَ قَالَ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ خَيْرِهَا وَخَيْرِ مَا فِيهَا وَخَيْرِ مَا أُرْسِلَتْ بِهِ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّهَا وَشَرِّ مَا فِيهَا وَشَرِّ مَا أُرْسِلَتْ بِهِ

[AI] "Narrated by the Prophet ﷺ , he said: Do not curse the wind, but if you see something in it that you dislike, then say: 'O Allah, we ask You for the good of this wind and the good that is in it, and the good that it is sent with. And we seek refuge in You from the evil of this wind, and the evil that is in it, and the evil that it is sent with.'"

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ لَا تَسُبُّوا الرِّيحَ فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمْ مِنْهَا مَا تَكْرَهُونَ فَقُولُوا اللهُمَّ إِنَّا نَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ خَيْرِ هَذِهِ الرِّيحِ وَمِنْ خَيْرِ مَا فِيهَا وَمِنْ خَيْرِ مَا أُرْسِلَتْ بِهِ وَنَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ هَذِهِ الرِّيحِ وَمِنْ شَرِّ مَا فِيهَا وَمِنْ شَرِّ مَا أُرْسِلَتْ بِهِ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Do not curse the wind, for it is from the breath of Allah. Ask Allah for its goodness, the goodness within it, and the goodness it is sent with. Seek refuge in Allah from its evil, the evil within it, and the evil it is sent with."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَا تَسُبُّوا الرِّيحَ فَإِنَّهَا مِنْ رَوْحِ اللهِ وَسَلُوا اللهَ خَيْرَهَا وَخَيْرَ مَا فِيهَا وَخَيْرَ مَا أُرْسِلَتْ بِهِ وَتَعَوَّذُوا بِاللهِ مِنْ شَرِّهَا وَشَرِّ مَا فِيهَا وَشَرِّ مَا أُرْسِلَتْ بِهِ

[AI] "Do not curse the wind, as it is from the breath of the Merciful. Allah says, 'And the altering of the winds and the clouds which are subjected between the heaven and the earth' [Surah Al-Baqarah 2:164]. Instead, say, 'O Allah, we ask You for the goodness of this wind, and the goodness within it, and the goodness it is sent with. And we seek refuge in You from its evil, and the evil within it, and the evil it is sent with.'"

لَا تَسُبُّوا الرِّيحَ فَإِنَّهَا مِنْ نَفَسِ الرَّحْمَنِ قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى {وَتَصْرِيفِ الرِّيَاحِ وَالسَّحَابِ الْمُسَخَّرِ بَيْنَ السَّمَاءِ وَالْأَرْضِ} [البقرة 164] وَلَكِنْ قُولُوا اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّا نَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ خَيْرِ هَذِهِ الرِّيحِ وَخَيْرِ مَا فِيهَا وَخَيْرِ مَا أُرْسِلَتْ بِهِ وَنَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّهَا وَشَرِّ مَا فِيهَا وَشَرِّ مَا أُرْسِلَتْ بِهِ

[AI] "O Allah, Lord of the heavens and whatever they shade, Lord of the devils and whatever they misguide, Lord of the winds and whatever they scatter. I ask You for its good and the good within it, and seek refuge in You from its evil and the evil within it."

«اللهُمَّ رَبَّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا أَظَلَّتْ وَرَبَّ الشَّيَاطِينِ وَمَا أَضَلَّتْ وَرَبَّ الرِّيَاحِ وَمَا أَذْرَتْ أَسْأَلُكَ خَيْرَهَا وَخَيْرَ مَا فِيهَا وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّهَا وَشَرِّ مَا فِيهَا»

[AI] About the Prophet ﷺ , he said, "Do not curse the wind, but when you see something you dislike in it, say, 'O Allah, we ask You for the goodness of this wind, and the goodness within it, and the goodness it has been commanded with. And we seek refuge in You from the evil of this wind, and the evil within it, and the evil it has been commanded with.'" 10705 Muhammad ibn al-Muthanna told me, Yahya ibn Hammad told us, Abu Awana narrated to us from al-A'mash, from Habib ibn Abi Thabit, from Tharr, from Sa'id ibn 'Abdul Rahman ibn Abzi, from his father, from Ubay ibn Ka'b, who said, "Do not curse the wind, for it is a breath of the Most Merciful." He mentioned something similar to it.

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا تَسُبُّوا الرِّيحَ فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمْ مِنْهَا مَا تَكْرَهُونَ فَقُولُوا» اللهُمَّ إِنَّا نَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ خَيْرِ هَذِهِ الرِّيحِ وَخَيْرِ مَا فِيهَا وَخَيْرِ مَا أُمِرَتْ بِهِ وَنَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ هَذِهِ الرِّيحِ وَشَرِّ مَا فِيهَا وَشَرِّ مَا أُمِرَتْ بِهِ 10705 أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَمَّادٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ عَنْ ذَرٍّ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبْزَى عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ قَالَ «لَا تَسُبُّوا الرِّيحَ فَإِنَّهَا مِنْ نَفَسِ الرَّحْمَنِ ﷻ» فَذَكَرَ مِثْلَهُ

“When the Prophet ﷺ would see the wind he would say: ‘O Allah, indeed, I ask You for its good, the good of what is in it, and the good of what it has been sent with. And I seek refuge in You from its evil, the evil of what is in it, and the evil of what it has been sent with (Allāhumma innī as’aluka min khairihā wa khairi mā fīhā, wa khairi mā ursilat bihī, wa aʿūdhu bika min sharrihā wa sharri mā fīhā, wa sharri mā ursilat bih).’” (Using translation from Tirmidhī 3449)

كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِذَا عَصَفَتِ الرِّيحُ قَالَ «اللهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ خَيْرَهَا وَخَيْرَ مَا فِيهَا وَخَيْرَ مَا أُرْسِلَتْ بِهِ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّهَا وَشَرِّ مَا فِيهَا وَشَرِّ مَا أُرْسِلَتْ بِهِ»

“When the Prophet ﷺ would see the wind he would say: ‘O Allah, indeed, I ask You for its good, the good of what is in it, and the good of what it has been sent with. And I seek refuge in You from its evil, the evil of what is in it, and the evil of what it has been sent with (Allāhumma innī as’aluka min khairihā wa khairi mā fīhā, wa khairi mā ursilat bihī, wa aʿūdhu bika min sharrihā wa sharri mā fīhā, wa sharri mā ursilat bih).’” (Using translation from Tirmidhī 3449)

«أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا رَأَى رِيحًا سَأَلَ اللهَ مِنْ خَيْرِهَا وَخَيْرِ مَا فِيهَا وَخَيْرِ مَا أُرْسِلَتْ بِهِ وَتَعَوَّذَ بِاللهِ مِنْ شَرِّهَا وَشَرِّ مَا فِيهَا وَشَرِّ مَا أُرْسِلَتْ بِهِ»

"لَا تَسُبُّوا الرِّيحَ؛ فَإِنَّهَا مِنْ رَوْحِ الله -تَعَالى- وَسَلُوا الله خَيرَهَا، وَخَيرَ ما فِيهَا، وَخَيرَ مَا أُرْسِلَتْ بِهِ، وَتَعَوَّذُوا بِالله مِنْ شَرِّهَا، وَشَرِّ مَا فِيهَا وَشَرِّ مَا أُرْسِلَتْ بِهِ".

"لَا تَسُبَّهَا فَإِنَّهَا مَأمُورَةٌ، وَلَكِنْ قُلِ: اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ خَيرَهَا، وَخَيرَ مَا فِيهَا، وَخَيرَ مَا أُمِرَتْ بِهِ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّهَا وَشَرِّ مَا فِيهَا، وَشَرِّ مَا أُمِرَتْ بِهِ".

"لا تَسُبُّوا الرِّيحَ، فَإِذَا رَأَيتُمْ مَا تَكْرَهُونَ فَقُولُوا: اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّا نَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ خَيرِ هَذِهِ الرِّيحِ وَخَيرِ مَا فِيهَا، وَخيرِ مَا أُمِرَتْ بِهِ، وَنَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ هَذِهِ الرِّيحِ، وَشَرِّ مَا فِيهَا، وَشَرِّ مَا أُمِرَتْ بِهِ".
