[Machine] I said, "O Messenger of Allah, I am a man who frequently speaks ill of others, and this is also the case with my family." He said, "Then where do you stand with seeking forgiveness? Verily, I seek forgiveness from Allah a hundred times during the day or, he said, during the day and night." Muhammad ibn Bashshar informed us, Muhammad informed us, Shu'bah narrated to us, he said, "I heard Abu Ishaq saying, I heard Al-Walid, Abu Al-Mughira, or Al-Mughira, Abu Al-Walid, narrating from Hudhaifa in a similar manner [170]. Most of the companions of Abu Ishaq disagreed with him."
[Machine] Hudhayfah said, "I complained to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about the punishment of my tongue, and he said, 'Where are you with seeking forgiveness? Verily, I seek forgiveness from Allah a hundred times every day.'"
[Machine] I was a man who often used to curse my family with my tongue, so I said, "O Messenger of Allah, I fear that my tongue will lead me to the Fire." He said, "So where are you in seeking forgiveness? Verily, I seek forgiveness from Allah one hundred times a day."

[Machine] I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "Indeed, I am afflicted with the scourge of the tongue. I have harmed my family with my tongue." He said, "So where are you from seeking forgiveness? Verily, I seek forgiveness from Allah and repent to Him one hundred times a day."

[Machine] I have never seen anyone say more "I seek forgiveness from Allah and repent to Him" than the Messenger of Allah.

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ liked to supplicate three times and to ask pardon (of Allah) three times. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1524)
53.165 [Machine] How to seek forgiveness
We counted that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would say a hundred times during a meeting: "My Lord, forgive me and pardon me; Thou art the Pardoning and forgiving One". (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1516)
[Machine] I was sitting with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and I heard him seeking forgiveness one hundred times, saying, "O Allah, forgive me, have mercy on me, and accept my repentance. Verily, You are the Accepter of repentance, the Most Merciful." The narration is from Zuhayr's collection.
[Machine] He was sitting with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "O Allah, forgive me, for indeed You are the Accepter of Repentance, the Most Forgiving." He continued to count on his fingers one hundred times.
[Machine] I asked the Prophet ﷺ , I said, "O Messenger of Allah, how do we seek forgiveness?" He said, "Say: 'O Allah, forgive us, have mercy on us, and accept our repentance. And mention a word with its meaning for us. Indeed, You are the Accepter of repentance, the Merciful." 10223 Muawiyah bin Salih informed us, Khaled informed us, Saeed bin Ziad informed me, I heard Suleiman bin Yasar narrating from Muslim bin Al-Sa'ib bin Khabbab, they said, "O Messenger of Allah, how do we seek forgiveness?" Similar to that.
[Machine] On the authority of Muslim ibn As-Sa'ib ibn Khabbab, they said: "O Messenger of Allah, how do we seek forgiveness?" He said: "Say: 'O Allah, forgive us, have mercy on us, and accept our repentance. Indeed, You are the Accepter of repentance, the Merciful.'"
53.166 [Machine] The mention of the Sayyid of Istighfar and the reward of those who practice it
The Prophet [SAW] said: "The best of prayers for forgiveness is for a person to say: 'Allahumma, anta rabbi, la ilaha illa anta, khalaqtani wa ana 'abduka, wa ana 'ala 'ahdika wa wa'dika mastata'tu, a'udhu bika min sharri ma sana'tu, abuw'u laka bidhanbi, wa abuw'u laka bini'matika 'alayya faghfirli, fa innahu la yaghfirudh-dhunuba illa anta (O Allah, You are my Lord, there is no god but You. You have created me and I am Your slave and I am keeping my promise and covenant to You as much as I can. I seek refuge with You from the evil of what I do. I acknowledge Your blessing and I acknowledge my sin, so forgive me, for there is none who can forgive sin except You.)' If he says this in the morning, believing in it firmly, and dies on that day before evening comes, he will enter Paradise, and if he says it in the evening, believing firmly in it, and dies before morning comes, he will enter Paradise." Al-Walid bin Tha'labah contradicted him. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5522)
[Machine] Narrated by Bashir, who heard it from the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , who said, "Whoever says in the morning, 'O Allah, You are my Lord, there is no god except You, You created me and I am Your servant, I am on your covenant and promise as much as I am able. I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have done. I acknowledge Your favors upon me and confess my sins to You. So forgive me, for no one forgives sins except You. If a person dies on that day, they will enter Paradise. And if a person dies during the night, it will be the same." Walid ibn Tha'labah disagreed with this statement.

Messenger of Allah ﷺ talked about Friday and said, "There is an hour (opportune time) on Friday and if a Muslim gets it while praying and asks something from Allah, then Allah will definitely meet his demand." And he (the Prophet) pointed out the shortness of that time with his hands. (Using translation from Bukhārī 935)
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said, "On Friday, there is an hour in which no Muslim servant who is standing in prayer asks Allah for something except that He will give it to him." The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , pointed with his hand, closing his fingers as if he was minimizing them.
[Machine] "That the Prophet ﷺ said, 'Verily, in Friday there is an hour in which no servant prays to Allah for forgiveness except that Allah forgives him.' He (the narrator) said, So the Prophet ﷺ made a small indication of the hour with his hand."
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "On Friday, there is an hour when, if a Muslim slave asks Allah for something at that time, He will give it to him." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1431)
[Machine] Abu Hurairah narrated, "Indeed, in Friday, there is an hour where Allah does not refuse any supplication of His servant."
“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ‘On Friday there is a time when no Muslim man happens to stand in prayer at that time, asking Allah for good things, but He will give that to him.” And he gestured with his hand to indicate how short that time is. (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1137)
53.168 [Machine] The preferred time for seeking forgiveness
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "When half or two-thirds of the night passes, Allah descends to the lowest heaven and says, 'Who among My servants seeks My forgiveness, and I shall forgive him? Who among My servants supplicates to Me, and I shall answer him? Who among My servants asks Me, and I shall give him until dawn?'". The wording is reported by Ishaq.
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When the last third of the night remains, Allah, blessed and exalted be He, descends to the lowest heaven and says, 'Who is calling upon Me, so that I may answer him? Who is asking forgiveness from Me, so that I may forgive him? Who is seeking My help, so that I may help him, until the dawn breaks?
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When one-third of the night remains, Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, descends to the lowest Heaven and says, 'Who is there that seeks forgiveness from Me so that I may forgive him? Who is there that supplicates to Me so that I may answer him? Who is there that seeks provision from Me so that I may provide for him, until the dawn breaks?'"
When half of the night or two-third of it is over. Allah, the Blessed and the Exalted, descends to the lowest heaven and says: Is there any beggar, so that he be given? Is there any supplicator so that he be answered? Is there any beggar of forgiveness so that he be forgiven? (And Allah continues it saying) till it is daybreak. (Using translation from Muslim 758c)
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: Our Lord who is blessed and exalted descends every night to the lowest heaven when the last one-third of the night remains, and says: Who supplicated Me so that I may answer him ? Who asks of Me so that I may give to him ? Who asks My forgiveness so that I may forgive him ? (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1315)
[Machine] "They both testified to it before the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and I bear witness that they said, 'Verily, Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, grants respite until the first third of the night passes. Then, He descends to the lowest heaven and says, 'Is there anyone seeking forgiveness? Is there anyone begging for sustenance? Is there anyone repenting? Is there anyone in need?' Until dawn emerges."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, Allah grants respite until the first third of the night passes, then He commands a caller to call out, 'Is there anyone who is invoking (supplicating) that his invocation may be answered? Is there anyone seeking forgiveness (repenting) that he may be forgiven? Is there anyone asking for something so that he may be given?'".
53.169 [Machine] The Mention of Disagreement on Sa'id Al-Maqburi in this Hadith.
[Machine] From the Prophet ﷺ , he said: When half of the night or two-thirds of the night have passed, Allah descends and says, "Who is calling upon Me, so that I may respond to him? Who is asking of Me, so that I may give to him? Who is seeking forgiveness from Me, so that I may forgive him until the dawn appears?"
