[Machine] He said, "Read." I said, "I am not able to read." Then he seized me again and said, "Read." I said, "I am not able to read." He seized me again and said, "{Read in the name of your Lord who created} [Quran 96:1]." Muhammad ibn An-Nu'man said that the Messenger of Allah returned with that, Ibn Shihab said, "I heard Urwah ibn Az-Zubayr say that Aisha said, 'The Prophet ﷺ pushed me and returned to Khadijah trembling. He said, 'Cover me! Cover me!' So, they covered him, and when the fear was gone from him, he said to Khadijah, 'I have been scared for myself.' She said, 'Don't worry! By Allah, Allah will never disgrace you. You keep good relations with your kith and kin, help the poor and the destitute, serve your guests generously, and assist those affected by calamities.' Khadijah then went with him to her cousin Waraqah bin Nawfal, who, during the pre-Islamic period, became a Christian and used to write Arabic writing, and he would write from the Gospel in Arabic as much as Allah wished him to write. He asked, 'O my cousin! What do you see?' Allah's Messenger ﷺ said that Waraqah replied, 'This is the same Angel [Gabriel] who came to Moses. I wish I were young and could live up to the time when your people would turn you out.' Allah's Messenger ﷺ asked, 'Will they drive me out?' Waraqah replied in the affirmative and said, 'Anyone who came with something similar to what you have brought was treated with hostility; and if I should remain alive till the day when you will be turned out, I would support you strongly.'"

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ says, "Then the revelation was interrupted for some time. While I was walking, I heard a voice from the sky, so I looked up towards the sky and saw the angel who used to come to me sitting on a chair between the sky and the earth. I was terrified and fell to the ground. Then I went to my family and said, 'Cover me! Cover me!' So they covered me, and Allah the Almighty revealed the verse, 'O you who is enveloped, arise and warn, and your Lord glorify, and your garments purify, and the idols forsake' (Quran, Al-Muddathir 2). Abu Salamah said, 'Idols are referred to as "arrajz",' meaning false gods. Then the revelation continued."
The Prophet ﷺ said, "If you knew that which I know, you would laugh little and weep much." (Using translation from Bukhārī 6486)
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited the verse {Has there not come upon man a period of time when he was nothing to be mentioned?} [Al-Insan 1] until he completed it, then he said, "Indeed, I see what you do not see and I hear what you do not hear. The sky has cracked and it has the right to crack, for there is not a space of four fingers except that there is an angel prostrating his forehead to Allah. By Allah, if you knew what I know, you would laugh a little and weep a lot, and you would not enjoy women in beds, but you would go out to the open spaces, seeking refuge with Allah." And by Allah, I wish I were a tree that could be supported." Then he said, "Indeed, the word of 'And by Allah, I wish I were a tree that could be supported' is more beloved to me than the statement of Abu Dharr.''
I said to Jabir b. Samura: Did you sit in the company of the Messenger of Allah (may peace he upon him)? He said: Yes, very often. He (the Holy Prophet) used to sit at the place where he observed the morning or dawn prayer till the sun rose or when it had risen; he would stand, and they (his Companions) would talk about matters (pertaining to the days) of ignorance, and they would laugh (on these matters) while (the Holy Prophet) only smiled. (Using translation from Muslim 670a)
I said to Jabir in Samrah, "Have you sat with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him?" Jabir said, "Yes, and he would observe silence for long periods of time and seldom laugh. His companions would mention poetry in his presence and some of their affairs. They would laugh and smile at times." (Using translation from Aḥmad 20810)
[Machine] He told us about some of the manners of the Prophet ﷺ and said, "I was his neighbor, so when the revelation came down, he would send for me, and I would come to him and write down the revelation. Whenever we mentioned the worldly life, he would mention it with us, and whenever we mentioned the Hereafter, he would mention it with us, and whenever we mentioned food, he would mention it with us. Should I tell you more about this?"
