[Machine] While we were in Murbad, a Bedouin came to us, his hair disheveled, carrying a piece of cloth or a piece of a bag. We said, "It seems that he is not from the people of this land." He said, "No, this is a book that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ wrote for me." The people then said, "Bring it to us." So I took it and read it, and it began with "In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. This is a book from Muhammad, the Prophet, the Messenger of Allah, to the Bani Zuhair ibn Uqaysh." Abu Al-Ala' said, "They are a noble tribe from the 'Ukl tribe. Indeed, if you testify that there is no god but Allah, establish prayer, pay Zakat, separate from the polytheists, and give one-fifth of the spoils and the Prophet's share, as well as the share of Safiyah, then you are guaranteed the security of Allah and the security of His Messenger."

58.8 [Machine] What is mentioned in the excuse of the weak?
[Machine] I and my mother were among those whom Allah excused.

[Machine] When we gathered for the migration, Ayash ibn Abi Rabia, Hisham ibn al-Aas ibn Wail, and I said that our meeting point would be the Adaat of the Bani Ghifar. So, whoever among you does not arrive by morning, he will be imprisoned. So, I stayed with Ayash ibn Abi Rabia and Hisham was imprisoned. There was a trial, and he was tested in Madinah. We used to say, "What is wrong with these people? They knew Allah, believed in Him, and confirmed His Messenger, but then turned away for worldly temptations." Then Allah revealed in them, "Say, O My servants who have transgressed against themselves: Despair not of the mercy of Allah" (Az-Zumar, 53) until His saying, "A refuge for the proud" (Az-Zumar, 60). Umar said, "So, I wrote it with my own hands in a book and sent it to Hisham." Hisham ibn al-Aas said, "When it reached me, I took it and went to Dhi Tuwa. I climbed up and directed it to Fuh'am to understand it. I said, "O Allah, give me understanding of it." Then I returned and sat on my camel and caught up with the Messenger of Allah. Hisham was martyred with Ajnad in the governorate of Abu Bakr.

Then, indeed your Lord, to those who emigrated after they had been compelled [to renounce their religion] and thereafter fought [for the cause of Allah] and were patient - indeed, your Lord, after that, is Forgiving and Merciful (Using translation from Qurʾān 16:110)
[Machine] Ayyash ibn Abi Rabee'ah embraced Islam and migrated to the Prophet ﷺ . Abu Jahl ibn Hisham, his maternal brother, came to him with another man and said to him, "Your mother is calling you, may Allah have mercy on her, and it is her right that you return to her." So he accompanied them and they tied him up until they reached Makkah, where they used to torture him.
[Machine] There were people in Mecca who had embraced Islam. When the people went out to Badr, they did not leave anyone except those who had embraced Islam. Those who had embraced Islam were killed and it was revealed about them in the Quran: "Indeed, those whom the angels take [in death] while wronging themselves..." [Quran 4:97] until His saying: "And it is not [possible] for them to find a way [to escape]." [Quran 4:98] A way of rising up to it and a path leading to the city. So the Muslims who were in Medina wrote to those who were in Mecca. When they received the letter, some people who had embraced Islam came out and the polytheists followed them and forced them until they gave them the test. Then Allah revealed about them: "Except for one who is forced [to renounce his religion] while his heart is secure in faith." [Quran 16:106]
While the Prophet ﷺ was offering the ʿIsha' prayer, he said, "Allah hears him who sends his praises to Him," and then said before falling in prostration, "O Allah, save ʿAiyash bin Rabiʿa. O Allah, save Salama bin Hisham. O Allah, save Al-Walid bin Al-Wahd. O Allah, save the weak ones among the believers. O Allah, let Your punishment be severe on the tribe of Mudar. O Allah, inflict upon them years (of famine) like the years of Joseph." (Using translation from Bukhārī 4598)
58.9 [Machine] Who left his house as a migrant and death overtook him on his way
[Machine] A man from the tribe of Khuz'aah was in Mecca and became ill. He was Zamrah bin Al-A'isa bin Zamrah bin Zinba. He commanded his family to spread a bed for him, and they carried him and set off towards Medina. When they reached Tan'eem, he died. And the verse was revealed: "And whoever emigrates for the cause of Allah will find on the earth many [alternative] locations and abundance." [Surah An-Nisa 100]. Al-Hasan and other interpreters have also said the same.
58.10 [Machine] The license in the residence at the company's house for those who do not fear temptation. The Shafi'i, may Allah have mercy on him, said: Because the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , allowed some people in Mecca to stay after their conversion, including Al-Abbas ibn Abdul-Muttalib and others, as they did not fear temptation.
[Machine] Al-Abbas, son of Abd al-Muttalib, had embraced Islam and settled in his homeland and did not migrate.
[Machine] Then Abu Al-Aas returned to Makkah after embracing Islam and did not witness any of the Prophet's ﷺ battles. Later, he arrived in Madinah and passed away in the month of Dhul-Hijjah in the twelfth year of the caliphate of Abu Bakr. He advised Zubeir ibn Al-Awwam, and Al-Shafi'i, may Allah have mercy on him, said that he used to command his troops to say to those who embraced Islam, "If you migrate, you will have what the migrants have, and if you settle, you will be like the Muslim Bedouins. They are not given a choice except in what is permissible for them."
Sulaiman bin Buraidah reported on the authority of his father. When the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ appointed a Commander over an Army or a detachment, he instructed him to fear Allaah himself and consider the welfare of the Muslims who were with him. He then said “When you meet the polytheists who are your enemy, summon them tone of three things and accept whichever of them they are willing to agree to, and refrain from them. Summon them to Islam and if they agree, accept it from them and refrain from them. Then summon them to leave their territory and transfer to the abode of the Emigrants and tell them that if they do so, they will have the same rights and responsibilities as the Emigrants, but if they refuse and choose their own abode, tell them that they will be like the desert Arabs who are Muslims subject to Allaah’s jurisdiction which applies to the believers, but will have no spoil or booty unless they strive with the Muslims. If they refuse demand jizyah (poll tax) from them, if they agree accept it from them and refrain from them. But if they refuse, seek Alaah’s help and fight with them. When you invade the fortress and they (its people) offer to capitulate and have the matter referred to Allaah’s jurisdiction, do not grant this, for you do not know whether or not you will hit on Allaah’s jurisdiction regarding them. But let them capitulate and have the matter refereed to your jurisdiction and make a decision about them later on as you wish. Sufyan (bin ‘Uyainah) said thah ‘Alqamah said “I mentioned this tradition to Muqatil bin Habban, He said “Muslim narrated it to me.” Abu Dawud said “He is Ibn Haidam narrated from Al Nu’man in Muqqarin from the Prophet ﷺ like the tradition of Sulaiman bin Buraidah. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2612)

A bedouin came to the Prophet ﷺ and asked him about emigration. The Prophet ﷺ said to him, "May Allah be merciful to you. The matter of emigration is difficult. Have you got some camels?" He replied in the affirmative. The Prophet ﷺ asked him, "Do you pay their Zakat?" He replied in the affirmative. He asked, "Do you lend them so that their milk may be utilized by others?" The bedouin said, "Yes." The Prophet ﷺ asked, "Do you milk them on the day off watering them?" He replied, "Yes." The Prophet ﷺ said, "Do good deeds beyond the merchants (or the sea) and Allah will never disregard any of your deeds." (See Hadith No. 260, Vol. 5) (Using translation from Bukhārī 2633)
The Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever believes in Allah and His Apostle, offer prayer perfectly and fasts the month of Ramadan, will rightfully be granted Paradise by Allah, no matter whether he fights in Allah's Cause or remains in the land where he is born." The people said, "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ ! Shall we acquaint the people with the is good news?" He said, "Paradise has one-hundred grades which Allah has reserved for the Mujahidin who fight in His Cause, and the distance between each of two grades is like the distance between the Heaven and the Earth. So, when you ask Allah (for something), ask for Al-firdaus which is the best and highest part of Paradise." (i.e. The sub-narrator added, "I think the Prophet also said, 'Above it (i.e. Al-Firdaus) is the Throne of Beneficent (i.e. Allah), and from it originate the rivers of Paradise.") (Using translation from Bukhārī 2790)
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said on the day of the conquest of Mecca, "This is not a hijrah, but rather a jihad with intentions. And when you are called for fighting, then go forth."
I brought my brother Abu Ma'bad to the Messenger of Allah (may peace he upon him) after the conquest of Mecca and said: Messenger of Allah, allow him to swear his pledge of migration at your hand. He said: The period of migration is over with those who had to do it (and now nobody can get this meritorious distinctions) I said: For what actions will you allow him to bind himself in oath? He said: (He can do so) for serving the cause of Islam, for fighting in the way of Allah and for fighting in the cause of virtue. Abd Uthman said: I met Abd Ma'bad and told him what I had heard from Mujashi'. He said: He has told the truth. (Using translation from Muslim 1863b)

[Machine] I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the second day of the conquest (of Mecca) and I said, "O Messenger of Allah, give my allegiance to my father for migration." He said, "Rather, I will give my allegiance to him for jihad. Migration has ended on the day of the conquest." This is how I found it, and indeed it is 'Amr ibn 'Abdul-Rahman.
[Machine] I spoke to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and Abu Umamah on the day of the conquest. I said, "O Messenger of Allah, my father has pledged allegiance to Abu Bakr for migration." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "No, I will pledge allegiance to him for jihad, as migration has come to an end." 'Amr ibn Al-Harith narrated this from Ibn Shihab, and 'Umar ibn Abdul Rahman ibn Umamah ibn Akil said.
[Machine] "I do not go home until I come to the city. He arrived in the city and stayed at the house of Al-Abbas bin Abdul-Muttalib, then he came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, 'What brought you, O Abu Wahb?' He replied, 'It is said that there is no religion for those who do not migrate.' The Prophet ﷺ said, 'Go back, O Abu Wahb, to the outskirts of Mecca and stay according to your religion, for migration has been cut off. However, there is still jihad and intention. And if you are summoned, then respond.'"

[Machine] I said, "O Messenger of Allah, Indeed, some people say that we do not have any rewards in Makkah." He said, "Your rewards will come to you, even if you were in the den of a fox."
[Machine] Fudayk came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, they claim that whoever does not migrate will perish." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "O Fudayk, establish the prayer, pay the zakat, avoid evil, and live among your people wherever you wish." Fudayk said, "And I think that he said, 'Be considered as a migrant.'" And Abu Tahir narrated to us from Abu Bakr al-Qattan, who narrated from Abu al-Azhar, who narrated from Ishaq ibn Isa, who narrated from Yahya ibn Hamza, who narrated from Muhammad ibn al-Walid al-Zubaidi, who narrated from al-Zuhri, who narrated from Salih ibn Bashir ibn Fudayk, who narrated from the Prophet ﷺ something similar. There is no mention of "Be considered as a migrant" in the narration of al-Zubaidi.
[Machine] Some people from the Bedouins came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, certain people from our relatives have surpassed us by claiming that there is no benefit to any action except through migration and Jihad." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Wherever you are, strive to worship Allah well and give glad tidings of Paradise."
[Machine] There is no migration after the conquest, migration was only before the conquest when a person migrates for his religion to the Prophet ﷺ. But when the conquest occurred, a man can freely choose to become a follower of Allah, and no one can prevent him.
[Machine] There is no migration today, rather migration was only to Allah and His Messenger. And the believers were fleeing with their religion to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, so that they would not be tested. Allah has spread Islam, so wherever a person wishes, he worships his Lord. However, it is a struggle and intention.
I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: Migration will not end until repentance ends, and repentance will not end until the sun rises in the west. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2479)
[Machine] He came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with some of his companions. When they reached, they said, "Please keep our belongings safe until we finish our need." Then the youngest of the people fulfilled their need. After that, they said to him, "Come in." When he entered upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , he asked, "What is your need?" He replied, "My need is to be informed if migration is cut off." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Your need is among the best of their needs. Migration will not stop as long as the enemy is fought."

58.11 [Machine] Who hates to die on the land from which he emigrated?
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ came to me and visited me. He disliked the idea of dying in the land he had migrated from so I asked him, "O Messenger of Allah, should I bequeath all my wealth?" He replied, "No." I asked, "Then should I bequeath half of it?" He again replied, "No." I asked, "Should I bequeath one third of it?" He replied, "Yes, and one third is still a lot. Verily, if you leave your heirs rich, it is better for them than leaving them in need, begging people with their hands. And no matter what you spend, it is considered as charity, even if it is just a morsel that you raise to your wife. Perhaps Allah will elevate you and benefit others through you, while harming other people." And Abu Abdullah Al-Hafiz informed us, narrating from Abu Amr Uthman ibn Ahmad ibn As-Sammak, narrating from Hanbal ibn Ishaq ibn Hanbal, narrating from Abu Nuaim, narrating from Sufyan ibn Saeed. He mentioned it with his chain of narrators, except that he said, "He visited me while I was ill in Mecca and he disliked the idea of dying in the land he had migrated from." Then he said, "May Allah have mercy on Ibn Afra." And he mentioned it.
[Machine] He informed him that he had fallen ill during the year of the conquest, and that he had recovered from an illness that would have led to his death. The Prophet ﷺ visited him and he was in Makkah. He mentioned the incident and said: I said, "O Messenger of Allah, I was left behind from the migration." He said, "You will never be left behind after me, so do good deeds for which you will seek the face of Allah, and you will increase in status and rank. Perhaps you will be left behind so that some people may benefit from you and others may be harmed." O Allah, accompany my Companions in their migration, and do not make them turn back on their heels. Sa'd bin Khuwaila, the miserable one, lamented for him when he died in Makkah. [Sahih al-Bukhari]
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ entered upon Saad as he was returning from Makkah. Saad then started crying, so the Prophet ﷺ asked him, "What makes you cry?" Saad replied, "I feared that I would die in the land from which I had migrated, just like Saad bin Khawlah died." The Prophet ﷺ then said, "O Allah, cure Saad, O Allah, cure Saad, three times." And he mentioned the hadith.
[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ arrived, leaving Saad sick, when he went out to Hunayn. When he came from Jiranah performing Umrah, he went to him while he was sick and defeated. Saad said to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , "I have wealth and I have heirs. Should I write a will with my wealth or give it in charity?" He ﷺ said, "No." He said, "Should I give away one-third of it in charity?" He ﷺ said, "No." He said, "Should I write a will with one-half of it?" He ﷺ said, "No." He said, "Should I give away two-thirds of it in charity?" He ﷺ said, "Yes, and that is still a lot." He (Saad) said, "O Messenger of Allah, will I be afflicted with the home I migrated from?" He ﷺ said, "I hope that Allah will elevate you, and there will be people who would benefit from you, O Amr bin Al-Qari. If Saad dies after me, bury him here, towards the direction of Al-Madinah," and he pointed with his hand in this way. This narration agrees with the narration of Sufyan that this took place in the year of conquest. And most of the narrators reported from Az-Zuhri that it took place in the year of the Farewell Pilgrimage. There is disagreement in this narration regarding the name of Hafadah, the son of Amr bin Al-Qari.

And I have revealed a book upon you that cannot be washed away by water, and you can recite it while asleep or awake. And indeed, Allah has commanded me to destroy the Quraysh, so I said, 'O Lord, if I do so, they will put my head on a loaf of bread.' He said, 'Remove them as they removed you, and hurt them as they hurt you. And spend, and we shall spend on you. And send an army, and we shall send five times their number.' And fight those who obey you and those who disobey you." He then mentioned the conversation.
[Machine] "He used to say: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent me to Yemen and said to me, 'Perhaps you will pass by my grave and my mosque. I have sent you to a people with gentle hearts. They will fight against you twice for the truth. Fight against those among them who obey you and forgive those who disobey you. Then, proceed towards embracing Islam until a woman surpasses her husband, a son surpasses his father, and a brother surpasses his brother. Stay between the two mountains of tranquility and murmuring.'"
[Machine] I heard Ibn al-Khasa'isah saying, "I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to pledge allegiance to him on Islam. He stipulated that I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger, and that I pray the five prayers, fast during Ramadan, give Zakat, perform Hajj, and strive in the cause of Allah. I said, 'O Messenger of Allah, I cannot bear two of them. As for Zakat, I do not have more than ten Dirhams. They are my family's messengers and their burdens. As for Jihad, they believe that whoever turns away from it has incurred the wrath of Allah. When I am about to face a battle, I dislike death and my soul becomes fearful.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then took hold of his hand and moved it and said, 'There is no Zakat or Jihad for you. How then will you enter Paradise?' He said, 'Then I said, 'O Messenger of Allah, I pledge allegiance to you, so pledge allegiance to me on these,' and I motioned with my hand." This is the wording of Abu 'Abdullah's Hadith.
[Machine] I said, "O Messenger of Allah, will you not inform me of an action through which I may enter Paradise?" He said: "If you wish, I will inform you of the head of the matter, its pillar, and its peak. As for the head of the matter, it is Islam; whoever submits to it has succeeded. As for its pillar, it is prayer; whoever establishes it has established the religion. And as for its peak, it is jihad; whoever strives in it has excelled." And he mentioned the Hadith.
The Prophet ﷺ said: Use your property, your persons any your tongues in striving against the polytheists. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2504)
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah said, "You should engage in jihad for the sake of Allah, as it is a door from the doors of Paradise. Through it, Allah removes distress, grief, and increases it [jihad] for others. He also said, 'Strive in the cause of Allah both nearby and distant, and establish the limits of Allah both nearby and distant. Do not let the blame of the blamers deter you in the cause of Allah.'" The Sheikh said, "This was narrated from Al-Harith ibn Mu'awiya al-Kindi, from Ubada ibn As-Samit."
[Machine] "Allah, exalted and high, said: 'March forth, whether light or heavy' [Quran 9:41]. So I find myself feeling nothing but light."
[Machine] Talhah read this verse, "March forth, whether light or heavy." [Surah At-Tawbah, verse 41] He said, "I see our Lord mobilizing us, old and young. Prepare me, O sons, prepare me." So his sons said, "You have already witnessed with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , Abu Bakr, and Umar, and we are ready to fight." He said, "Prepare me." Then he embarked on the sea and died. They did not find any island for him except after seven days. He was buried there and did not change.
58.15 [Machine] Those who are not obligated to participate in jihad
[Machine] I asked the Prophet ﷺ for permission to participate in the Jihad, and he replied, "Your Hajj is sufficient for you."
[Machine] She asked for his permission for jihad, and he said, "Is performing Hajj not sufficient for you? Or is your jihad in performing Hajj?" Abu Al-Qasim ibn Abi Hashim Al-Alawi and Abu Al-Qasim ibn Al-Najjar Al-Muqri informed us that Abu Ja'far ibn Duhaim told us that Ibrahim ibn Ishaq told us that Qabisa narrated to us from Sufyan from Habib from Aisha bint Talhah from Aisha, the mother of the believers, in a similar manner.
[Machine] We said, "O Messenger of Allah, we see that Jihad is the best deed. Should we not strive alongside you?" He said, "No, the best Jihad is a performed Hajj. A Hajj that is accepted." And Aisha was his paternal aunt.
