58. Expeditions
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to change his clothes in the morning and listen. If he heard the call to prayer, he would hold back, but if not, he would perform ablution.
[Machine] I heard Anas bin Malik say, "The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , when he would go out on a military expedition, he would not deceive until morning. If he heard the call to prayer, he would hold back, and if he did not hear the call to prayer, he would proceed after sunrise."
From his father and he was a Companion who said: "When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ dispatched any army or battalion, he would say to them: 'If you see a Masjid, or hear someone calling the Adhan, then do not kill anyone.'" (Using translation from Tirmidhī 1549)
