58. Expeditions
[Machine] That Najda wrote to Ibn Abbas, "Did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ engage in battle with women? And did he ever strike them with arrows?" He replied, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ did engage in battle with women in order to tend to the wounded, but he did not strike them with arrows. Rather, they would receive their share of the spoils of war."
[Machine] "The slave and the woman attended the spoils. Do they have anything from the spoils? He said, He wrote to him, They have nothing except that they put on (wear) it."
[Machine] About the orphan, when does he leave the age of orphanhood and his right falls in the testament? He wrote to him, when he has a wet dream, then he has left the age of orphanhood and his right has fallen in the testament. Al-Yazeed ibn 'Iyaad is not a valid source and Sa'id ibn Abi Sa'id has been dropped from his chain of narrators.
[Machine] Narrated by the Prophet ﷺ and Abu Talhah, in the presence of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , he was asked a question and he responded using a metaphor. He said, "I have indeed seen Aisha, the daughter of Abu Bakr, and Umm Sulaim, and they were both wearing garments that showed their wrists. I saw their servants carrying their belongings on their backs, and then emptying them into the mouths of the people. They would then return and refill them, and come back again to empty them into the mouths of the people."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to go on expeditions with Umm Sulaym and some women from the Ansar with him. They would give water to the soldiers and treat the wounded.
“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was wounded on the Day of Uhud. His molar was broken and his helmet was crushed on his head. Fatimah was washing the blood from him and ‘Ali was pouring water on him from a shield. When Fatimah realized that the water was only making the bleeding worse, she took a piece of a mat and burnt it, and when it had turned to ashes, she applied it to the wound to stop the bleeding. (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3464)
[Machine] I participated in the conquest of Khaybar with the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ while I was a slave. He did not strike me with an arrow, but he gave me a sword. I imitated him by dragging the sole of his shoe on the ground, and he instructed me to take from the spoils of war.
[Machine] I used to give water to my companions on the day of Badr and in another narration, I used to provide them water.
