58. Expeditions
٥٨۔ كِتَابُ السِّيَرِ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ has forbidden to travel with the Quran to the land of the enemy. Malik said, "I consider it out of fear that the enemy might harm him." And Abu Abdullah informed us through Ali ibn Isa ibn Ibrahim through Ja'far ibn Muhammad ibn Al-Husayn and Muhammad ibn Amr Al-Harshi and Ibrahim ibn Ali, saying: Yahya ibn Yahya said: I read to Malik, and he mentioned it similar to this but he did not mention Malik's statement.
نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ يُسَافَرَ بِالْقُرْآنِ إِلَى أَرْضِ الْعَدُوِّ قَالَ مَالِكٌ أُرَاهُ مَخَافَةَ أَنْ يَنَالَهُ الْعَدُوُّ 18240 وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عِيسَى بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ثنا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْحَرَشِيُّ وَإِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ قَالُوا ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى قَالَ قَرَأْتُ عَلَى مَالِكٍ فَذَكَرَهُ بِمِثْلِهِ لَمْ يَذْكُرْ قَوْلَ مَالِكٍ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade carrying the Quran to the land of the enemy, for fear that it might fall into their hands.
