Madarik al-Tanzil wa-Haqaiq al-Tawil (The Paths of Revelation and the Realities of Interpretation) by Abdullah b. Ahmad al-Nasafi (d. 710 AH / 1310 CE) is a three-volume classical Arabic tafsir representing the Hanafi Maturidi scholarly tradition of Central Asia. Its objective is to provide a balanced, organized, and accessible commentary combining linguistic, transmitted, and theological analysis, drawing on the linguistic insights of Zamakhshari's al-Kashshaf while correcting its Mutazilite theological positions from a Maturidi standpoint, and also benefiting from Baydawi's earlier synthesis. The manhaj is broadly synthetic, suitable for educational use, and attentive to Hanafi legal implications. Nasafi is Maturidi and his madhhab is Hanafi. The work has been widely studied in Hanafi educational institutions, particularly in the Ottoman scholarly tradition and South Asian madrasas, where it is among the standard tafsir reference texts.
