Adwa al-Bayan fi Idah al-Quran bi-al-Quran (The Lights of Clarification in Elucidating the Quran by the Quran) by Muhammad al-Amin al-Shinqiti (d. 1974 CE) is a nine-volume tafsir produced by the Mauritanian Athari scholar who served as a professor at the Islamic University of Madinah. This approach represents the tafsir al-Quran bi-al-Quran methodology in its most systematic modern expression. Shinqiti was a scholar of the West African (Mauritanian) Maliki tradition who also held firmly Athari views, combining Maliki legal orientation with independent ijtihad in fiqh and Athari theology. The work was partially completed at his death and finished posthumously by his students. It is widely respected and frequently cited in Salafi and Athari scholarly circles globally. More...
