Show mercy to receive Mercy
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ kissed al-Hasan b. Ali while al-Aqra‘ b. Habis al-Tamimi was sitting with him. al-Aqra‘ said, “I have ten children and I have not kissed any of them.” The Messenger of Allah ﷺ looked at him and then said, “Whoever does not show mercy will not be shown mercy.”
A Believer protects his brothers and sisters from harm
The Prophet ﷺ said, "If anyone of you passed through our mosque or through our market while carrying arrows, he should hold the iron heads," or said, "he should hold firmly with his hand lest he should injure one of the Muslims with it."
Significance of the sanctity of a Muslim, his property, and his rights
from the Prophet ﷺ, he said: “Indeed, ˹calendar months˺ have returned to its original state, as it was on the day Allah created the heavens and the earth. The year is twelve months, of which four are sacred: three consecutive—Dhu al-Qa‘dah, Dhu al-Hijjah, and al-Muharram—and Rajab of Mudar, which is between the two Jumads and Sha‘ban.”
Then he said: “Which month is this?” We said: Allah and His Messenger know best. He remained silent until we thought he would name it by a another name. He said: “Is it not Dhu al-Hijjah?” We said: Yes. He said: “Which land is this?” We said: Allah and His Messenger know best. He remained silent until we thought he would name it by another name. He said: “Is it not the Baldah (Sacred Precinct)?” We said: Yes. He said: “Which day is this?” We said: Allah and His Messenger know best. He remained silent until we thought he would name it by another name. He said: “Is it not the Day of Sacrifice?” We said: Yes.
He said: *“Indeed, your blood and your wealth” —Muhammad said, and I think he also said— “and your honor are sacred to one another, like the sanctity of this day of yours, in this land of yours, in this month of yours. And you will meet your Lord, and He will question you about your deeds. So do not return after me misguided, striking the necks of one another. Let the one who is present convey to the one who is absent, for perhaps some who are informed will comprehend it better than some who heard it.”
Opression will become the darkness of Judgement Day
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Beware of wrongdoing/oppression, for wrongdoing will become darknesses on the Day of Judgement. And beware of miserly greed, for miserly greed destroyed those who came before you: it drove them to shed one another’s blood and ˹make invading˺ their ˹personal˺ sanctity as lawful.”
The Prophet ﷺ said: "A man will not be asked as to why he beat his wife."
Earn Allah's protection by guarding your duties toward him; No harm will come to you unless it is written for you
I was behind the Messenger of Allah ﷺ one day, and he said: “O young man, I will teach you some words: Guard Allah and He will guard you. Guard Allah and you will find Him before you. When you ask, ask Allah; and when you seek help, seek help from Allah. And know that if the people were to gather together to benefit you with something, they would not benefit you except with something that Allah has already written for you; and if they were to gather together to harm you with something, they would not harm you except with something that Allah has already written against you. The pens have been lifted and the pages have dried.”
The etiquette of transactions where an honest exchange of goods is blessed
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The seller and the buyer have the right to keep or return goods as long as they have not parted or till they part; and if both the parties spoke the truth and described the defects and qualities (of the goods), then they would be blessed in their transaction, and if they told lies or hid something, then the blessings of their transaction would be lost."
One who speaks the truth is guided righteousness
The Prophet ﷺ said, "Truthfulness leads to righteousness, and righteousness leads to Paradise. And a man keeps on telling the truth until he becomes a truthful person. Falsehood leads to Al-Fajur (i.e. wickedness, evil-doing), and Al-Fajur (wickedness) leads to the (Hell) Fire, and a man may keep on telling lies till he is written before Allah, a liar."
[Machine] The passage describes a narrative about the prophet Ezekiel and a vision or experience he had. Ezekiel was among those taken captive by Nebuchadnezzar along with Daniel in the Jerusalem area. He claimed that while he was sleeping on the banks of the Euphrates, an angel came to him and took him by the head, lifting him to the treasury of the holy house (referring to the temple).
As Ezekiel raised his head to the sky, he saw the heavens opened without the Throne. He then beheld the Throne, surrounded by angels, above the heavens and earth. The earth and heavens were suspended under the Throne, carried by four angels, each with four faces: a human face, an eagle's face, a lion’s face, and a bull’s face.
Intrigued, Ezekiel looked at their feet and saw them at the boundaries of the earth on wheels with eyes. He then saw an angel before the Throne with six wings, who had been standing there since creation and will remain until the end of time. This was Gabriel. Below Gabriel, Ezekiel saw a magnificent angel, the greatest he had seen, identified as Michael, who was a leader over the angels of the heavens.
Angels circled the Throne, declaring the greatness of the Lord and chanting, "Holy, holy, our Lord who filled the heavens and the earth with His greatness." Below them were angels with six wings: two covering their faces against the light, two covering their bodies, and two for flying. These were the closest angels to the divine, continuously bowing and standing since creation.
Ezekiel witnessed more ranks of angels, some in continuous prostration since creation. As he gazed, the Throne descended through an opening in the sky to the earth, and then he was taken to the house of the temple (Masjid). Then, Ezekiel lost consciousness upon seeing and hearing an awe-inspiring vision and sound. Revived by the angel, he was instructed to return to his people with a mission to lead them, with great responsibility for guiding them or bearing the consequences of their astray.
Ezekiel was then lifted and returned to the Euphrates banks, where he again experienced angelic transport to other lands, witnessing resurrection of the dead by divine command, as bones rejoined and flesh regrew, seeing the restoration of life and spirit by calling upon their souls. The revived testified to their past idolatry and subsequent punishment, emphasizing divine judgment.
Finally, Ezekiel was returned to where he began, contemplating the enormous duty and the majesty he witnessed, tasked with guiding and warning his people of their spiritual duties and the reality of divine oversight.

Four qualities to possess: fulfilling trusts, truthfulness, good conduct, and eating little
that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Four ˹qualities˺ if you have them, then there shall be no blame upon you for what you missed ˹earning˺ in the world: (1) fulfilling the trust, (2) truthful speech, (3) good character, and (4) restraint with food."
"Umar came in when the Ethiopians were playing in the masjid. Umar, may Allah (SWT) be pleased with him, rebuked them, but the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Let them be there, O Umar, for they are Banu Arfidah.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1596)

Hadith Jibril on Iman, Islam, and Ihsan
the first man who discussed Qadar (Divine Decree) in Baṣrah was Maʿbad al-Juhanī. I along with Ḥumayd b. ʿAbd al-Raḥmān Ḥimyarī set out for pilgrimage or for ʿUmrah and said: Should it so happen that we come into contact with one of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, we shall ask him about what is talked about Qadar. Accidentally we came across ʿAbdullāh b. ʿUmar b. al-Khaṭṭāb, while he was entering the mosque. My companion and I surrounded him. One of us ˹stood˺ on his right and the other stood on his left. I expected that my companion would authorize me to speak. I, therefore, said: Abū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān, there have appeared some people in our land who recite the Quran and pursue knowledge. And then after talking about their affairs, added: They claim that there is no such thing as Qadar and events are not predestined. He said: When you happen to meet such people tell them that I have nothing to do with them and they have nothing to do with me. And verily they are in no way responsible for my ˹belief˺. ʿAbdullāh b ʿUmar swore by Allah: If any one of them had with him gold equal to the bulk of ˹the mountain˺ Uḥud and spent it ˹for the sake of Allah˺, Allah would not accept it unless he affirmed his faith in the Qadar.
He further said: My father, ʿUmar b. al-Khaṭṭāb, told me: One day we were sitting in the company of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when there appeared before us a man dressed in pure white clothes. His hair was extraordinarily black. There were no signs of travel on him. None amongst us recognized him. At last, he sat with the Prophet ﷺ. He knelt before him placed his palms on his thighs,
then said: Muhammad, inform me about Islam. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Islam implies that: (1) you testify that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, and (2) you establish prayer, (3) pay Zakat, (4) observe the fast of Ramadan, and (5) perform pilgrimage to the (House) if you are solvent enough ˹to bear the expense of˺ the journey.” ˹The inquirer˺ said: You have told the truth. ˹ʿUmar˺ said: It amazed us that he would put the question and then he would himself verify the truth.
˹The inquirer˺ said: Inform me about Iman (faith). He replied: “That (1) you affirm your faith in Allah, (2) in His angels, (3) in His Books, (4) in His Apostles, (5) in the Day of Judgment, and (6) you affirm your faith in the Divine Decree about good and evil.” ˹The inquirer˺ said: You have told the truth.
˹The inquirer˺ again said: Inform me about Iḥsān (excellence in deeds). He said: ”That (1) you worship Allah as if you are seeing Him, (2) for though you don't see Him, He, verily, sees you.”
˹The inquirer˺ again said: Inform me about the Hour (of the Last Day). He remarked: ”One who is asked knows no more than the one who is inquiring.” ˹The inquirer˺ said: Tell me some of its indications. He said: ”That (1) the slave-girl will give birth to her mistress and master, that (2) you will find barefooted, destitute goat herders vying with one another in the construction of magnificent buildings.”
˹ʿUmar˺ said: Then ˹the inquirer˺ went on his way but I stayed with (the Prophet) for a long while. He then, said to me: "ʿUmar, do you know who this inquirer was?" I replied: Allah and His Messenger know best. He remarked: "He was Jibrīl (Angel Gabriel). He came to you in order to teach you in your religion."
Every kind of distress, even a thorn prick, expiates sins
The Prophet ﷺ said, "No fatigue, nor disease, nor sorrow nor sadness, nor hurt nor distress befalls a Muslim, even if it were the prick from a thorn, except that Allah expiates some of his sins for that."
A Prophet's patience over his nation who severely harmed him
As if I saw the Prophet ﷺ talking about one of the prophets whose nation had beaten him and caused him to bleed, while he was cleaning the blood off his face and saying, "O Allah! Forgive my nation, for they have no knowledge."
A believer is patient in trial and grateful in ease
the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said, "˹How˺ wondrous is the affair of a believer: for there is good in every affair of his, while that is not the case with anyone else except in the case of a believer: ˹i.e.,˺ if times of ease strike him, he is grateful which is good for him; and if times of distress strike him, he is patient, which is ˹also˺ good for him."
Blessings of contentment, self-sufficiency, and patience; Patience is the ultimate blessing
Some people from the Anṣār asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he gave them. They again asked him and he gave them again until all that was with him finished. And then he said, "If I had anything, I would not keep it away from you: (1) Whoever abstains from asking others, Allah will grant him contentment; (2) whoever tries to make himself self-sufficient, Allah will grant him self-sufficiency; and (3) whoever practices patientice, Allah will grant him patience. No one can be given a blessing better and greater than patience."
If you don't feel shame then do whatever you like
The Prophet ﷺ said, "One of the sayings of the early Prophets which the people have got is: 'If you don't feel shy ˹from committing indiscretions˺, then do whatever you like.'"
I entered upon the Prophet ﷺ and I was wearing a gold ring. He took a newspaper and struck my hand with it and said, "Throw it away." So, I went out and threw it away. Then, I returned to him and he asked, "What happened to the ring?" I said, "I threw it away." He said, "I only commanded you to enjoy it, not to throw it away."
The Prophet ﷺ did istighfār more than seventy times a day
I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "By Allah! I seek forgiveness from Allah and turn to Him in repentance more than seventy times a day."
from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ who said: “The best of your leaders are those whom you love and who love you, who pray for you and you pray for them. And the worst of your leaders are those whom you hate and who hate you, whom you curse and who curse you.”
It was said: “O Messenger of Allah, should we not oppose them with the sword?” He said: “No, for as long as they establish the prayer among you. And if you see from your rulers something you dislike, then dislike their action, but do not withdraw your hand from obedience.”
One who starts a good practice (Sunnah Hasanah) will earn the reward of those who follow him in that practice
We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the early part of the day. He said: Then there came to him some people who were barefoot and nearly naked, wearing patched cloaks or woolen mantles, with swords slung over their shoulders. Most of them were from ˹the tribe of˺ Mudar, rather, all of them were from Mudar. The face of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ changed because of the poverty he saw upon them. He went in, then came out, and he ordered Bilal, who called the adhan and the iqamah. He then led the prayer, and then delivered a sermon.
He said: “O people, fear your Lord who created you from a single soul…” to the end of the verse: “Indeed Allah is ever, over you, an Observer.” (Nisa 4:1) And he recited the verse in Surat al-Hashr: “Fear Allah, and let every soul look to what it has sent forth for tomorrow; and fear Allah.” (Hashr 59:18) Then he said: “Let a man give charity from his dinar, from his dirham, from his clothing, from a sa‘ of his wheat, from a sa‘ of his dates,” until he said: “Even if it is with half a date.”
Then a man from the Ansar came with a bundle that his hand could scarcely carry, rather, it could not carry it. Then the people followed one after another until I saw two heaps of food and clothing, until I saw the face of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ glowing as if it were gilded. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Whoever introduces in Islam a 'sunnah hasanah' (good practice) will have its reward and the reward of those who act upon it after him, without any of their rewards being diminished in the least. And whoever introduces in Islam a bad practice will bear its burden and the burden of those who act upon it after him, without any of their burdens being diminished in the least.”
The three men who wanted to perform excessive worship
A group of three men came to the houses of the wives of the Prophet ﷺ asking how the worship of Prophet ﷺ was. When they were informed about that, they considered their worship insufficient. They said, "Where are we from the Prophet ﷺ as his past and future sins have been forgiven?" Then one of them said, "I will offer the prayer throughout the night forever." The other said, "I will fast throughout the year and will not break my fast." The third said, "I will keep away from the women and will not marry forever."
Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to them and said, "Are you the same people who said so-and-so? By Allah, I am more in awe of Allah and more conscious of Him than you; yet I fast and break my fast, I pray and I sleep and I marry women. So whoever turns away from my Sunnah (tradition) is not from me."
Removing harmful things from the pathways
from the Prophet ﷺ who said: "I saw a person enjoying himself in Jannah because of the tree that he cut from the path which was a source of inconvenience to the people."
Dua for ease and facilitation
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:

(O Allah, there is no ease except what You make easy, and You make the difficult easy if You Will.)

[Machine] There was a matter in my heart that saddened me: that I had not asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about it, nor had I heard anyone ask him about it. So I kept watching for an opportunity. One day I entered upon him while he was performing ablution, and I found him in two conditions I loved to find him in: free (unoccupied) and in good spirits. I said, “O Messenger of Allah, will you permit me to ask you?” He said, “Yes—ask whatever occurs to you.” I said, “O Messenger of Allah, what is faith?” He said, “Generosity and patience.” I said, “Then which of the believers is best in faith?” He said, “The one with the best character.” I said, “Then which of the Muslims is best in Islam?” He said, “The one from whose tongue and hand the Muslims are safe.” I said, “Then which jihad is best?” He lowered his head and remained silent for a long time, until I feared I had burdened him, and I wished I had not asked him—especially since I had heard him the day before say: “Indeed, the greatest of the Muslims in wrongdoing against the Muslims is the one who asks about something that was not prohibited for them, and then it is prohibited for them because of his question.” So I said, “I seek refuge in Allah from the anger of Allah and the anger of His Messenger ﷺ.” He raised his head and said, “What did you say?” I said, “Which jihad is best?” He said, “A word of justice in the presence of a tyrannical ruler.”
Using talismans is shirk
that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ received a group of men and he accepted the pledge from nine of them, while he refrained from one. They said, “O Messenger of Allah, you accepted the pledge of nine men and left this one out?” The Prophet said, “There is an amulet upon him.” The man took it in his hand and cut it, then the Prophet accepted his pledge and he said, “Whoever hangs an amulet around his neck has committed an act of shirk (associating partners to Allah).”
A man who thought of himself as unpleasant in appearance rewarded by Allah for his sincerity
A black man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, I am a black man with a foul odor and an ugly face, and I have no wealth. If I fight these people ˹in the path of Allah˺ until I am killed, where will I be?" The Prophet ﷺ said, "In Paradise." So he fought until he was killed.
Then the Prophet ﷺ came to him and said, "Allah has brightened your face, sweetened your fragrance, and increased your wealth." And he said to him or to someone else, "I have seen his wife from the beautiful black-eyed maidens stripping off her garment of silk to cover him.

Strange and questionable narration on the Night of the Jinn
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ followed me and said, "So we set off until I reached a certain place, and he drew a line for me and told me to stay within it. He said, 'Do not leave this area, for if you do, you will perish.' So I stayed within it. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went away for a while, or seemingly went far away.
Then he returned and mentioned Haneen, as if they were zutt (locusts). (Affan said, or as Affan said if Allah wills), they had no clothes on, and I did not see their private parts at all. They had very little flesh. Then they came and started riding on the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Prophet of Allah ﷺ began reciting to them. They came to me and it seemed as if they were flooding around me and attempting to interpose themselves. Abdullah said, "I was terrified of them more severely than I was the first time." A'rif said in his narration, "Then he sat down or as he said." Then when the dawn broke, they left, or as he said. Then indeed the Messenger of Allah ﷺ returned very weary and exhausted, or almost exhausted due to what he had ridden. He said, "I feel heavy, or as he said." So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ rested his head on me, or as he said. Then the Haneen came to them wearing long white clothes, or as he said. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ fell into a trance." Abdullah said, "I was terrified of them more severely than the first time." A'rim said in his narration, or as they said, "Some of them said to others, 'Indeed, this servant has received something good,' or as they said, 'His eyes are sleeping, or he said his eye, and his heart is awake.' Then A'rim said, "Some of them said to others, 'Come, let us strike a similitude for him,' or as they said, 'Let us strike a similitude for him and let us interpret it ourselves, or you interpret and we will interpret and you interpret, or as they said.' Then some of them said to others, 'His similitude is like the similitude of a master who built a strong edifice and then sent food to the people. So whoever did not come to his food, or he said whoever did not follow him, he would severely punish him, or as they said.' Others said, 'As for the master, he is the Lord of the Worlds, and as for the edifice, it is Islam, and the food is Paradise, and he is the inviter. So whoever follows him will be in Paradise,' A'rim said in his narration, or as they said. 'And whoever does not follow him will be punished severely,' or as they said.
Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ awoke and said, 'What have you seen, O son of Umm 'Abd?' 'Abdullah said, 'I saw such and such.' The Prophet ﷺ said, 'There is nothing they said that is hidden from me.' The Prophet ﷺ said, 'They are a group of angels, or he said they are from the angels, or as Allah wills.' "

The best are those who continuing to do good deeds even if they live a long life
A Bedouin said, “O Messenger of Allah, who are the best of people?” He said, “Those whose lives are long and whose deeds are good.”
Rushing to do good deeds even when you're hungry
On the day of the battle of Uhud, a man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "Can you tell me where I will be if I should get martyred?" The Prophet ﷺ replied, "In Paradise." The man threw away some dates he was carrying in his hand, and fought till he was martyred .
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever dies without an Imam, dies the death of the time of ignorance."
How Allah make one a means of provision for another
There were two brothers during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. One of them used to come to the Prophet ﷺ, and the other had some business. The businessman among them complained to the Prophet ﷺ about his brother, so he said: 'Perhaps you are provided for because of him.'
The Witr prayer should not resemble the Maghrib prayer
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do not perform Witr (the odd numbered nightly prayer) to three rakahs making is seem like the Maghrib prayer. Rather extend it to five, or seven, nine, or eleven rakahs, or even more than that."
Observe Witr before morning.
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to perform the night prayer (Tahajjud) with three (rak'ahs), reciting in the first rak'ah: "Glorify the name of your Lord, the Most High" (Surah Al-A'la), in the second rak'ah: "Say, O disbelievers" (Surah Al-Kafirun), and in the third rak'ah: "Say, He is Allah, the One" (Surah Al-Ikhlas). He used to prolong his recitation before bowing (ruku') and when he would finish the prayer, he would say: "Glory be to the King, the Most Holy" three times, raising his voice so that it is heard in the Hereafter, saying: "O Lord of the angels and the Rooh (Jibreel)" (Hadith Sahih Muslim).
[Machine] During the time of Umar ibn Al-Khattab, people used to offer twenty-three units of prayer in Ramadan. It was possible to combine the two narrations (regarding the number of units) because they used to start with eleven units, then perform twenty units before ending with three units of witr prayer. Only Allah knows best.
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray thirteen rak'ahs during the night, observing the witr prayer with nine (or as she said). He used to pray two rak'ahs while sitting and pray two rak'ahs of the dawn prayer between the adhan and the iqamah.
The Witr prayer of Umar and the People of Madinah
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to perform the Witr prayer with three rakahs, and he would do the taslim only in the last rakah. And this is the Witr prayer of Amir al-Muminin, Umar b. al-Khattab"
“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to perform Witr and recite: ‘Glorify the Name of your Lord the Most High.’, [Al-A’la (87)] ‘Say: O you disbelievers!” [Al-Kafirun (109)] and ‘Say: Allah is One.”. [Al-Ikhlas (112)] (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1171)
He used to perform the Witr prayer with three rakahs without the tashahhud (sitting) in between them, and he would not do the tashahhud except in the last rakah."
