53.2 He who makes peace between the people is not a liar

٥٣۔٢ باب لَيْسَ الْكَاذِبُ الَّذِي يُصْلِحُ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ

Reconciling between people is not lying

bukhari:2692 – ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz b. ʿAbdullāh > Ibrāhīm b. Saʿd > Ṣāliḥ > Ibn Shihāb > Ḥumayd b. ʿAbd al-Raḥmān > Umm Kulthūm bt. ʿUqbah

She heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "The liar is not the one who reconciles between people, conveying good or saying good."

البخاري:٢٦٩٢ – حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ عَنْ صَالِحٍ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ أَنَّ حُمَيْدَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ أُمَّهُ أُمَّ كُلْثُومٍ بِنْتَ عُقْبَةَ أَخْبَرَتْهُ

أَنَّهَا سَمِعَتْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ: «لَيْسَ الْكَذَّابُ الَّذِي يُصْلِحُ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ فَيَنْمِي خَيْرًا أَوْ يَقُولُ خَيْرًا».
