13. Commerce
١٣۔ كِتَابُ الْبُيُوعِ
[Machine] And it was as if he was placing it on her from behind the veil.
وَكَأَنَّهُ كَانَ يَضَعُهَا عَلَيْهَا مِنْ وَرَاءِ الثَّوْبِ
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "There is no harm if a man looks at a female slave when he wants to buy her, as long as he looks at what is between her knees and the knot of her waist (her private parts)." This statement was narrated by Hafs ibn 'Umar, the judge of Aleppo, from Salih ibn Hassan. We also narrated it in the book of prayer from the hadith of 'Isa ibn Maymun, from Muhammad ibn Ka'b. Both chains of narration are weak, and Allah knows best.
قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ لَا بَأْسَ أَنْ يُقَلِّبَ الرَّجُلُ الْجَارِيَةَ إِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَشْتَرِيَهَا وَيَنْظُرَ إِلَيْهَا مَا خَلَا عَوْرَتَهَا وَعَوْرَتُهَا مَا بَيْنَ رُكْبَتِهَا إِلَى مَعْقِدِ إزَارِهَا تَفَرَّدَ بِهِ حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ قَاضِي حَلَبَ عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ حَسَّانَ وَرَوَيْنَاهُ فِي كِتَابِ الصَّلَاةِ مِنْ حَدِيثِ عِيسَى بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ كَعْبٍ وَالْإِسْنَادَانِ جَمِيعًا ضِعِيفَانِ وَاللهُ أَعْلَمُ
