nasai-kubra:1841Muḥammad b. Manṣūr > Sufyān > Misʿar > al-Miqdām b. Shurayḥ from his father > ʿĀʾishah

When it rained the Messenger of Allah would say: "Allahummaj'alhu Sayyiban nafiʿa. (O Allah, make it beneficial rain)." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1523)

nasai-kubra:1842Ibrāhīm b. Muḥammad al-Taymī Qāḍī al-Baṣrah > Yaḥyá > Sufyān > al-Miqdām b. Shurayḥ from his father > ʿĀʾishah

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ, if he saw a young child in the horizon of the sky, he would leave his work, even if he was in prayer. If Allah revealed it, he would praise Allah. And if it rained, he would say, "O Allah, may it be beneficial rain."

nasai-kubra:1843Qutaybah b. Saʿīd > Yazīd / Ibn al-Miqdām b. Shurayḥ from his father > Abīh Shurayḥ > ʿĀʾishah

“Allahumma inna na’udhu bika min sharri ma ursila bihi (O Allah, we seek refuge with You from the evil of that with which it is sent).” Then if it rained he would say: “Allahumma sayyiban nafi’an (O Allah, a beneficial rain),” two or three times. And if Allah dispelled it and it did not rain, he would praise Allah for that. (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3889)

nasai-kubra:1844ʿAbd al-Wahhāb b. al-Ḥakam al-Warrāq > Muʿādh b. Muʿādh > Ibn Jurayj > ʿAṭāʾ > ʿĀʾishah

“If the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw a cloud that looked as if it was bringing rain, the color of his face would change, and he would go in and out and walk to and fro. Then, if it rained, he would feel relieved.” ‘Aishah mentioned to him what she had seen him do, and he said: “How do you know? Perhaps it would be as the people of Hud said: ‘Then, when they saw it as a dense cloud coming towards their valleys, they said: “This is a cloud bringing us rain!” Nay, but it is that (torment) which you were asking to be hastened.” [46:24] (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3891)

nasai-kubra:1845Nūḥ b. Ḥabīb > ʿAbd al-Razzāq > Maʿmar > Ibn Ṭāwus from his father > ʿĀʾishah

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to have a change in his face when he saw a cloud, and he would enter and exit, turn and come back. And when rain fell, it was hidden from him, so I mentioned that to him and he said: "I do not believe that it is exactly as Allah said: {But when they saw a cloud approaching their valleys, they said, 'This is a cloud bringing us rain!' Rather, it is that for which you were impatient: a wind within which is a painful punishment}" [Quran 46:24].

nasai-kubra:1846Muḥammad b. Salamah > Ibn al-Qāsim > Mālik > Ṣāliḥ b. Kaysān > ʿUbaydullāh b. ʿAbdullāh b. ʿUtbah > Zayd b. Khālid al-Juhanī

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ led us in the morning prayer at al-Hudaibiyyah after rain which has fallen during the night, and when he finished, he turned to the people and said: Do you know what your Lord has said ? They said: Allah and His Apostle know best. He said: This morning there were among mt servants one who believes in me and one who disbelieves. The one who said: "We have been given rain by Allah's grace and mercy" is the one who believes in me and disbelieves in the star ; but the one who said: "We have been given rain by such and such a rain star," is the one who disbelieves in me and believes in the star. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 3906)
