Aishah said: "When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ grew old and put on weight, he prayed seven rak'ahs and only sat in the last of them, and he prayed two rak'ahs while sitting after saying the taslim, and that was nine, O my son! And when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ offered any prayer he liked to persist in doing so." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1718)

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , used to perform Witr prayers with seven units. He would not sit except in the sixth unit, then he would stand without saying salaam and perform the seventh unit, then he would say salaam once, then he would perform two units while sitting. Hammad ibn Salamah disagreed with these actions.

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to perform nine rak'ahs of Witr. But when it was close to the time of Fajr, he would perform seven rak'ahs. He would then perform an additional two rak'ahs while sitting. (Hadith narrated by Muhammad ibn Bashshar, from Al-Hajjaj, from Hammad, from Humaid, from Bakr, from Sa'd ibn Hisham, from Aisha, from the Prophet ﷺ , with a similar narration.)
