10. Zakāh (Prescribed Charity)
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ mandated the zakat al-fitr in Ramadan on people, a sa'a (a measure) of dates or a sa'a of barley, for every free man or slave, male or female, among the Muslims.
Messenger of Allah ﷺ enjoined the payment of one Sa' of dates or one Sa' of barley as Zakat-ul-Fitr on every Muslim slave or free, male or female, young or old, and he ordered that it be paid before the people went out to offer the ʿId prayer. (One Sa' = 3 Kilograms approx.) (Using translation from Bukhārī 1503)
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordained the zakat al-fitr during Ramadan for every free Muslim, whether male or female, young or old, a sa' of dates or a sa' of barley. The wording of their hadith is the same, except that in the hadith of Abu Utbah, it is narrated "for every free Muslim"
Messenger of Allah ﷺ made it incumbent on all the slave or free Muslims, male or female, to pay one Sa' of dates or barley as Zakat-ul-Fitr. (Using translation from Bukhārī 1504)
Messenger of Allah ﷺ made it incumbent on all the slave or free Muslims, male or female, to pay one Sa' of dates or barley as Zakat-ul-Fitr. (Using translation from Bukhārī 1504)
[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prescribed Zakat al-Fitr as purification for fasting from idle talk and obscenities, and as a provision for the poor. Whoever pays it before the prayer, it is an accepted Zakat, and whoever pays it after the prayer, it is considered as a voluntary charity. This is what our sheikh (number 7693) said, and the authentic narration is what Abu Ali Al-Rudhbari informed us, who narrated it from Muhammad ibn Bakr, who narrated it from Abu Dawud, who narrated it from Mahmoud ibn Khalid Al-Dimashqi and Abdullah Yahya ibn Abdul Rahman Al-Samarqandi. They said: "Marwan ibn Muhammad said: 'Abdullah narrated to us from Abu Yazid Al-Khawlani, who was a sincere and trustworthy sheikh. Ibn Wahb used to narrate from him.' And Abbas ibn Al-Walid Al-Khallal narrated it from Marwan, and Abu Ahmed Al-Hafiz mentioned it in Al-Kunya, but his name is not known."
