The Prophet ﷺ said: O people, if any of you is put in an administrative post on our behalf and conceals from us a needle or more, he is acting unfaithfully, and will bring it on the Day of Resurrection. A black man from the Ansar, as if I am seeing him, stood and said: Messenger of Allah, take back from me my post. He asked: What is that? He replied: I heard you say such and such. He said: And I say that. If we appoint anyone to an office, he must bring what is connected with it, both little and much. What he is given, he may take, and he must refrain from what is kept away from him. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 3581)   

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَنِ اسْتَعْمَلْنَاهُ مِنْكُمْ عَلَى عَمَلِنَا فَكَتَمَنَا مِنْهُ مِخْيَطًا فَمَا فَوْقَهُ كَانَ غُلُولًا يَأْتِي بِهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ قَالَ فَقَامَ إِلَيْهِ رَجُلٌ أَسْوَدُ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ كَأَنِّي أَنْظُرُ إِلَيْهِ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ اقْبَلْ عَنِّي عَمَلَكَ قَالَ وَمَا لَكَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُكَ تَقُولُ كَذَا وَكَذَا قَالَ وَأَنَا أَقُولُهُ الْآنَ مَنِ اسْتَعْمَلْنَاهُ مِنْكُمْ عَلَى عَمِلٍ فَلْيَجِئْ بِقَلِيلِهِ وَكَثِيرِهِ فَمَا أُمِرَ مِنْهُ أَخَذَ وَمَا نُهِيَ عَنْهُ انْتَهَى  

[Machine] The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ sent Abu-Walid to collect and distribute charity. He warned him, saying: "Beware, do not bring on the Day of Judgment a camel carrying a load of sins, or a cow with horns, or a sheep with broken teeth." Abu-Walid replied, "O Messenger of Allah, that will not be the case for me." The Prophet ﷺ said, "By the One in Whose Hand is my soul, it will be so, except for the one whom Allah has mercy upon." Abu-Walid then said, "I swear by the One who sent you with truths, I will never engage in such actions or be responsible for two of them."  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ بَعَثَهُ عَلَى الصَّدَقَةِ فَقَالَ يَا أَبَا الْوَلِيدِ اتَّقِ لَا تَأْتِي يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ بِبَعِيرٍ تَحْمِلُهُ لَهُ رُغَاءٌ أَوْ بَقَرَةٌ لَهَا خُوَارٌ أَوْ شَاةٌ لَهَا ثُؤَاجٌ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ ذَلِكَ لَكَائِنٌ قَالَ أَيْ وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ إِنَّ ذَلِكَ لَكَذَلِكَ إِلَّا مَنْ رَحِمَ اللهُ قَالَ فَوَالَّذِي بَعَثَكَ بِالْحَقِّ لَا أَعْمَلُ عَلَى شَيْءٍ أَبَدًا أَوْ قَالَ عَلَى اثْنَيْنِ
