[Machine] When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to wake up in the morning and at night, he would make these invocations: "O Allah, You are the most deserving to be praised and the most deserving to be given. You are the Owner, there is no partner with You, and the One who does not perish. Everything that perishes is except Your Face. You are not obeyed except by Your permission, and not disobeyed except by Your knowledge. You are obeyed and thanked, and disobeyed and forgiven. You are the closest Witness and the closest Guardian. You are closer to us than our throats, You take account of our secrets, and You record our deeds. Hearts are exposed to You, while secrets are known to You. What You have made permissible is permissible, what You have made forbidden is forbidden, what You have legislated is religion, what You have decreed is the order, and what You have created is Your creation. The servant is Your servant, and You are Allah, the Clement, the Merciful. I ask You by the light of Your Face through which the heavens and the earth are illuminated, by every right that belongs to You, and by the right of those who ask of You, to accept me in the morning or in the evening and to save me from the fire by Your power."

“There are three things, whoever has them has found the taste of faith (One of the narrators) Bundar said: ‘The sweetness of faith; When he loves a man and only loves him for the sake of Allah. When Allah and His Messenger are more beloved to him than anything else; and when being thrown into the fire is dearer to him than going back to disbelief after Allah has saved him from it.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 4033)
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "O people, come to your Lord! Indeed, what is little and sufficient is better than what is abundant and distracts. O people, they are simply signs for good and signs for evil. And He did not make the sign of evil beloved to you more than the sign of good."

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The first sign of the Day of Judgment is the rising of the sun from its place of setting."

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There are three things. If I were to swear an oath on them, I would fulfill it, and the fourth thing is that if I were to swear an oath on it, I would hope that I would not commit a sin, that Allah does not make a person who has a share in Islam like one who has no share, and that He does not give authority to a servant in this world but He will appoint someone else in authority over him in the Hereafter. And there is no servant of a people who is not sent by Allah with them and between them. And the fourth thing is that Allah does not cover up a servant in this world, except that He will cover him on the Day of Resurrection."

[Machine] Um Hanee, the mother of Hanee, asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , she said, "O Messenger of Allah, indeed I am a heavy woman. Teach me supplications that Allah will benefit me with." He said, "Say: 'SubhanAllah' (Glory be to Allah) one hundred times, it is equivalent to freeing one hundred slaves for the sake of Allah, and say: 'Alhamdulillah' (All praise is due to Allah) one hundred times, it is equivalent to riding one hundred bridled horses in the cause of Allah, and say: 'Allahu Akbar' (Allah is the Greatest) one hundred times, it is equivalent to donating one hundred camels prepared for sacrifice to the House of Allah, and say: 'La ilaha illallah' (There is no deity worthy of worship except Allah) one hundred times, it will protect you from sins after associating partners with Allah."

[Machine] I entered upon Abu Umamah while he was picking lice off his clothes in the mosque and burying them in the sand. So I said, "O Abu Umamah, a man informed me that you heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Whoever performs ablution perfectly and then stands and prays two Rak'ahs of Salah, Allah will forgive him all his previous sins.' So Abu Umamah said, 'By Allah, I heard him say that, and I do not know how many times I heard him say it.'

[Machine] When the heads of the Azariqah were brought and placed on the steps of Damascus, Abu Umamah came. When he saw them, his eyes filled with tears and he said, "Dogs of Hellfire, dogs of Hellfire! These are the worst killers under the heavens, and the best of those killed under the heavens are those whom they killed." I asked him, "Why are your eyes filled with tears?" He said, "Out of mercy for them, as they were of the people of Islam." I said, "I ask your opinion, did you say dogs of Hellfire or is it something you heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?" He said, "If so, then I am bold. Rather, it is something I heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ not once, not twice, but many times." Then he recited repeatedly, "On the Day when some faces will turn white and some faces will turn black," until he reached, "In which they will abide eternally," and recited, "It is He who has sent down to you the Book, from which are verses that are precise," until he reached, "Those of understanding." Then he took my hand and said, "Indeed, they are many in your land. May Allah protect you from them."

[Machine] I was walking with my father Umama on his donkey until we reached the steps of Damascus. Suddenly, we saw decapitated heads and my father asked, "What are these heads?" It was said, "These are the heads of the Kharijites brought from Iraq." He then said, "The dogs of Hellfire, the dogs of Hellfire, three times worse than those killed under the sky, three times better than those who killed them and were killed by them, three times they say." Then he cried, and I asked him, "What makes you cry, O Abu Umama?" He said, "Out of mercy for them, for they were from the people of Islam and then they left Islam." Then he recited, "It is He who sent down upon you the Book, from it are verses that are precise - they are the foundation of the Book," until he finished reciting the verses. Then he recited, "And do not be like those who became divided and differed after the clear proofs had come to them," until he reached, "So they will abide in it eternally." So I said, "O Abu Umama, are these the people?" He said, "Yes." I asked him, "Is this something you say according to your own opinion or something you heard from the Messenger of Allah?" He said, "If that is the case, then I am bold enough to say it three times. I heard it from the Messenger of Allah, not once or twice, but seven times." Then he placed his finger in his ears and said, "Otherwise, we would have remained silent."

[Machine] I was in Sham (Syria) when Al-Muhallab sent seventy heads of the Khawarij (a deviant sect) and they were placed at the gate of the mosque. I was on the roof of a house when Abu Umamah passed by, intending to enter the mosque. When he saw them, his eyes filled with tears and he said, "Glory be to Allah, what does Shaytan do to the children of Adam!" He repeated this three times, and then he said, "The dogs of Hell, the worst of killers under the sky." He repeated this three times, and then he said, "The best of those who are killed under the sky are the ones whom they (i.e., the Khawarij) kill." He repeated this three times, and then he turned to me and said, "O Abu Galib, you are in their land where there are many of them, may Allah protect you from them. Do you recite the Surah (i.e., Surah Al-Imran)? I said, Yes, I recite it. He said, "I wept out of mercy for them. They were among the people of Islam." Then he recited, "It is He Who has sent down to you (Muhammad) the Book (this Qur'an). In it are Verses that are entirely clear, they are the foundations of the Book..." until he reached the verse, "Seeking Al-Fitnah (polytheism and disbelief in the Oneness of Allah) and seeking it's interpretation..." and indeed they (i.e., the Khawarij) had deviation in their hearts, so he recited, "And be not as those who divided and differed among themselves..." until he reached the verse, "Have you then become disbelievers after having a true faith (Iman)?" I said, "Are these the people you were referring to, O Abu Umamah?" He said, "Yes." I said, "O Abu Umamah, did you say this based on your own opinion or something you heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ?" He said, "I am bold enough to say it (based on my own opinion), rather, it is something I heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ not once or twice, but until he repeated it six times."

[Machine] I was in Sham (Syria) when Al-Muhallab sent seventy heads of the Khawarij (a deviant sect) and they were placed at the entrance of the mosque. I was on the back of my house when Abu Umamah passed by, wanting to enter the mosque. When he stood in front of them, his eyes teared up and he said, "Glory be to Allah, what does Satan do to the children of Adam?" three times. He said, "The dogs of Hell are the worst of killers under the sky's shade," three times. Then he said, "The best of those killed under the sky's shade are those who were killed," three times. Then he turned to me and said, "O Abu Galib, you are in the land of these people, there are many of them, may Allah protect you from them. Do you recite the Surah of Al Imran?" I said, "Yes, indeed I saw your tears." He said, "I cried out of mercy for them, as they were from the people of Islam." Then he recited, "It is He who has sent down to you, [O Muhammad], the Book; in it are verses [that are] precise - they are the foundation of the Book - and others unspecific. As for those in whose hearts is deviation [from truth], they will follow that of it which is unspecific, seeking discord and seeking an interpretation [suitable to them]. And no one knows its [true] interpretation except Allah. But those firm in knowledge say, "We believe in it. All [of it] is from our Lord." And no one will be reminded except those of understanding." until he reached, "And do not be like the ones who became divided" until he reached, "Have you disbelieved after your belief?" I said, "Are these the people, O Abu Umamah?" He said, "Yes." I said, "O Abu Umamah, is this your personal opinion or something you heard from the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ ?" He said, "I am brave enough to say it three times, but it is something I heard from the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , not once or twice, but six times."

[Machine] I saw Abu Umamah al-Bahili looking at the heads of Kharijites on the steps of Damascus. He said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, 'The dogs of the Hell-fire are the dogs of the Hell-fire.'" Then he wept and said, "The worst of those who are killed under the sky are the one who are killed in the cause of Allah, and the best of those who are killed in the cause of Allah are those who are killed in the cause of Allah." Abu Ghālib said, "So I said to him, 'Did you hear this from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ?' He said, 'If I heard it, then I deserve to have heard it from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , not once, not twice, and not three times.'"

[Machine] While I was in Damascus, seventy heads of the Khawarij were brought and displayed on the steps of Damascus. Abu Umamah, the companion of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , came and entered the mosque. He performed the visible prayers, and when he left, he cried and said, "They are the dogs of Hellfire." He recited the verse: "It is He who has sent down upon you, [O Muhammad], the Book; in it are verses [that are] precise, they are the foundation of the Book, and others unspecific. As for those in whose hearts is deviation [from truth], they will follow that of it which is unspecific, seeking discord and seeking an interpretation [suitable to them]." Then, he recited the verse: "On the day when faces will be white and faces will be blackened. As for those whose faces have become blackened, [to them it will be said], 'Did you disbelieve after your belief? Then taste the punishment for what you used to reject.'" So, I said, "O Abu Umamah, is this something you heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ or something you are saying based on your own opinion?" He said, "If I were to say so, then I am bold, I heard it from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ not once, not twice, not three times, but up to seven times."

So, I said, 'O Abu Umamah, is this something you say based on your own opinion or is it something you heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ?' He said, 'If I were to say that, then I would be bold. [Machine] I was in Damascus sitting on top of a house when Abu Umamah passed by me, so I followed him. Suddenly, we were at the staircase of the mosque, and the heads of the Khawarij were exposed. He said, "The worst of killers are those under the shade of the sky, and the best of those killed are those who are killed by them." I asked him, "Did you hear this from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ?" He replied, "Yes, I swear by the Lord of the Ka'bah, I swear by the Lord of the Ka'bah," repeatedly, then he started crying. I asked, "Why are you crying when you have said what you said?" He said, "I am showing mercy to people who intended to do something but didn't. As for you, you are in a land where they are numerous. May Allah protect you from them."

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'The Khawarij are the dogs of Hell.'" (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 173)

[Machine] About this verse "{He is the one who has revealed the Book to you. Some of its verses are definite in meaning - they are the foundation of the Book - and others are ambiguous. Those with deviation in their hearts pursue the ambiguities in their pursuit of Fitnah, seeking to create discord, and to find a way to interpret them.}" He said: Abu Umaymah informed me that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "They are the Khawarij." And I asked him about this verse "{So, as for those in whose hearts is deviation (from the truth), they follow that which is not entirely clear thereof. Seeking discord and seeking an interpretation (suitable to them),}" He said: Abu Umaymah informed me that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "They are the Khawarij."

He ﷺ said, "They are the Khawarij."

They said, 'Oh, we wish we were Muslims.'"
[Machine] I went out with Abu Umamah al-Bahili to the mosque of Damascus. When we were at the gate, we saw some heads of the Khawarij. When he looked at them, he cried and said, "What did Satan do three times? Dogs of the Fire." He repeated this three times, and then he said, "The worst of killers are those who kill under the shade of the sky. Whoever they kill, he is the best of victims under the shade of the sky." I said, "O Abu Umamah, are you saying this or is it something you heard from the Messenger of Allah?" He said, "If I did, then I would be audacious. Do you recite the verses in the beginning of Surah Al-Imran (As for those in whose hearts is deviation, they will follow that of it which is similar)?" These verses were revealed regarding those people, until you recite the verse that is in the middle of Surah Al-Imran (On the Day when faces will turn white and faces will turn black). These verses were revealed regarding those people. I said, "What makes you cry, O Abu Umamah?" He said, "They were believers, or he said Muslims."

[Machine] I was in Damascus during the time of Abdul Malik, and the heads of the Khawarij were brought and impaled on stakes. I came to see if there was anyone I knew among them. And indeed, Abu Umamah was there, so I approached him. I looked at the stakes, and he said, "The dogs of hell, the worst of killers, are beneath the skies. And those who killed them are the best of killers beneath the skies." He said this three times, then he cried. I said to him, "O Abu Umamah, what makes you cry?" They used to be upon our religion, but then I remembered what they had become. I said to him, "Say something based on your opinion, or something you heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ?" He said, "If I had only heard it from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ once or twice or three times, until seven, I would not have told it to you. Don't you recite this verse in Surah Al-Imran: 'On the day when some faces will be white and some faces will be black.' until the end of the verse 'And as for those whose faces have turned white, they are in the mercy of Allah, they will in it eternally'."

[Machine] I was in Damascus during the time of Abdul Malik, and the heads of the Khawarij were brought and placed on stakes. I came to see if there was anyone I knew among them. Then I saw Abu Umamah near them, so I approached him. I looked at the stakes, and he said, "The dogs of Hell are the worst of the killers under the heavens, and those who kill them are the best of the killers under the heavens." He repeated this three times, then he wept. I said, "O Abu Umamah, what makes you cry?" They were upon our religion, but then I remembered what they would become the next day. So I said to him, "Do you say this based on your own opinion or something you heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?" He said, "If I had not heard it from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ except once or twice or three times, up to seven, I would not have narrated it to you. Do you not recite this verse in Surah Al-Imran, 'The Day when some faces will turn white and some faces will turn black'? Until the end of the verse, 'And as for those whose faces have turned white, they will be within the mercy of Allah; they will abide therein eternally.'"

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The children of Israel were divided into seventy-two sects, and this nation will be divided into what the children of Israel were divided upon. All of these sects will be in the Fire except one, which is the group that follows the straight path."
So we said, "O Abu Umamah, does the group that follows the straight path not have enough people?"
He said, "By Allah, indeed we will disapprove of what you do."
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "The Children of Israel have divided into seventy-one sects, and my Ummah will divide into even more sects. All of them will be in the Hellfire except for the majority group."
[Machine] Seventy heads of the Azarah came and camped on the steps of Damascus for seven days. Three of the seven days had passed and it was the fourth day when Abu Umamah came and performed two units of prayer at Sariyah. He said, "The dogs of Hellfire will kill three times worse than those who were killed under the shade of the sky. The best of those who were killed are those who were killed under the shade of the sky." So I said, "O Abu Umamah, is this something that you heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ or is it something you say on your own?" He said, "In that case, I am bold. Rather, I heard it from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ not once, not twice, but until it reached seven times."

[Machine] The heads of the Khawarij were brought to Damascus and were placed on a platform. People started looking at them, and I also went to see them. Then Abu Umamah came on a donkey, wearing a yellowish shirt. He looked at them and said, "What has Shaytan done to this Ummah?". He repeated it three times, "The worst of those killed under the sky are better than the best of those killed under the sky. Those who killed them are the dogs of Hellfire." He repeated it three times, then he cried and left. Abu Ghaleb said, "I followed him and asked, 'I heard you say something, did you really say it?'. He said, 'Subhan Allah, Indeed, I am very bold. Rather, I have heard it from the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , repeatedly.'" I told him, "I saw you crying." He said, "Out of mercy for them, they were once from the people of Islam." Then he said to me, "Do you recite?" I said, "Yes." He said, "Then recite from the family of Imran." So, I recited, and he said, "Do you hear what Allah says, 'But those in whose hearts is deviation [from truth], they will follow that of it which is unspecific.' There is deviation in the hearts of these people, so read up to the beginning of the hundredth verse." So, I recited until I reached, 'On the Day when some faces will turn white and some faces will turn black. As for those whose faces turn black (to them will be said): "Did you disbelieve after your belief?"' I said, 'O Abu Umamah, are they those people?' He said, 'Yes, they are those people.' This hadith has not been narrated except by Khalid bin Dailaj and Al-Walid."

[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came from Khaibar with two boys, and he gifted one of them to Ali ibn Abi Talib and said, "Do not strike him, for I have been prohibited from striking those who pray, and I have seen him praying." He also gave a boy to Abu Dharr and said, "Take care of him with kindness." So he freed him. Then the Prophet ﷺ said, "What did the boy whom I gave to you do?" Abu Dharr said, "You commanded me to take care of him with kindness, so I freed him."

[Machine] I heard Abu Umamah say, "There is no Muslim who hears the call to prayer and then performs ablution except that he is forgiven with the first drop of water that touches his hands. After that drop, Allah forgives him for his past sins, and then he stands up for his voluntary prayer." I said, "Did you hear this from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , O Abu Umamah?" He said, "By the One who sent him with the truth as a bringer of glad tidings and a warner, not once, nor twice, nor three times, nor four times, nor ten times." And he gestured with his hand.

Abu Umamah replied, "It will still be a virtue and reward for them."
