Safwan ibn Umayyah was sleeping in the mosque of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and there was a garment under his head. A man came and took it from under his head while he was sleeping. Safwan woke up and followed him, and brought him to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and mentioned the matter to him. The Prophet ﷺ ordered that the man be punished. Safwan said to the Prophet ﷺ , "I had not reached the point of wanting it to be severed." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Why didn't you come to me before bringing him?"
[Machine] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ who said, "The plague is a martyrdom (witness), the stomach is a martyrdom (witness), and the miscarriage is a martyrdom (witness)."
[Machine] Safwan ibn Umayyah narrated that he raised it to the Prophet ﷺ saying, "The plague, leprosy, and drowning are a martyrdom."
[Machine] Narrated by the Prophet, ﷺ , he said, "Plague, drowning, burning, and suffocation are martyrdom for my Ummah."
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Eat meat, as it is the tastiest, easiest, and most wholesome (form of food)."
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "He is more delicious and easier and more lenient."
[Machine] Safwan ibn Umayyah saw me in the presence of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while I was cutting meat off the bone. He said, "O Safwan!" and I replied, "Here I am." He said, "Bring the meat closer to you, for it is more tasty and enjoyable."
[Machine] A thief came to him while he was sleeping and took his garment from under him. When he woke up and realized, he took him to the Prophet ﷺ. The Prophet ﷺ ordered that his hand be cut off. The thief said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have repented." He said, "Shouldn't you have repented before coming to me? Verily, when the ruler decides upon a punishment, he establishes it."
I was sleeping in the mosque on a cloak mine whose price was thirty dirhams. A man came and pinched it away from me. The man was seized and brought to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He ordered that his hand should be cut off. I came to him and said: Do you cut off only for thirty dirhams ? I sell it to him and make the payment of its price a loan ? He said: Why did you not do so before bringing him to me ? Abu Dawud said: Za'idah has also transmitted it from Simak from Ju'ayd ibn Hujayr. He said: Safwan slept. Mujahid and Tawus said: While he was sleeping a thief came and stole the cloak from beneath his head. The version of AbuSalamah ibn AbdurRahman has: He snatched it away from beneath his head and he awoke. He cried and he (the thief) was seized. Az-Zuhri narrated from Safwan ibn Abdullah. His version has: He slept in the mosque and used his cloak as pillow. A thief came and took his cloak. The thief was seized and brought to the Prophet ﷺ. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4394)
[Machine] There was a thief who came to his father while he was sleeping and took his garment from under his head. The father woke up and took him to the Prophet ﷺ . The Prophet ﷺ ordered that his hand be cut. The thief said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have made him permissible for me." The Prophet ﷺ said, "Why didn't you ask for permission before coming to me? Verily, when the Imam is given a punishment for crossing the limits set by Allah, he establishes it."
a man stole a Burdah of his, so he brought him before the Messenger of Allah, who ordered that his hand be cut off. He said: "O Messenger of Allah, I will let him have it." He said: "Abu Wahb! Why didn't you do that before you brought him to us?" And the Messenger of Allah had (the man's) hand cut off. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 4878)
[Machine] "I fell asleep in the mosque and someone took my lower garment from underneath me. I caught the person and brought them to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . He ordered for the person's hand to be cut off. I said, 'O Messenger of Allah, it belongs to them.' He said, 'Then why didn't you bring them to me before?'"
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ borrowed iron armor from me on the day of Hunayn, so I said, "Is it guaranteed, O Muhammad?" He said, "Yes, it is guaranteed." Then some of it got lost, so the Prophet ﷺ said to me, "If you wish, we will compensate you for it." I said, "No, I do not desire compensation in exchange for embracing Islam."
"The Messenger of Allah gave to me on the Day of Hunain, and he was the most hated creature to me. But he did not stop giving to me until he was the most loved creature to me." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 666)
[Machine] It was said to me, "The one who does not migrate will perish." So, I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and informed him. He said, "Go back, Abu Wahb, to Abu Tahir in Makkah."
