15. Chapter of Ṣād (Male)
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I was shown a vision last night as if I was entering paradise and I exited through one of its eight gates. Then I saw my Ummah standing before me, man by man. And there was a balanced scale placed. My Ummah was placed on one side of the scale, and I was placed on the other side. I outweighed them. Then my entire Ummah was placed on one side and Abu Bakr As-Siddiq was placed on the other side. He outweighed them. Then my entire Ummah was placed on the scale, and Umar Ibn Al-Khattab was placed on the other side. He outweighed them. Then the scale was lifted."
[Machine] The messenger of Allah ﷺ was walking in intense heat when his sandal strap broke. A man then came with a sandal strap and placed it on his sandal. The messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If you knew what burden you have relieved the messenger of Allah ﷺ of, if you knew what burden you have relieved the messenger of Allah ﷺ of."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed by a man while he was reciting "Say: He is Allah, the One." So, he said, "This verse alone is obligatory, and Paradise is guaranteed for him."
[Machine] When the Prophet ﷺ was in the Farewell Pilgrimage, he stood up while Fuḍayl ibn ʿAbbās was on a camel and said, "O people, acquire knowledge before knowledge is taken away and before it is raised." Allah had revealed the verse "O you who believe, do not ask about things that, if they are shown to you, will distress you." We used to mention this verse frequently, so it prevented us from asking. Then, an Arab came and spread a blanket for us. We covered ourselves with it, and he clung to it until I saw the edge of the blanket on his right eyebrow. Then we said, "Ask the Prophet ﷺ ." So he said, "O Prophet of Allah, how will knowledge be taken away from us while we have the Qur'ans with us, in which we have learned and have taught our women and children and servants?" The Prophet ﷺ raised his head, and his face had turned red out of anger, and he said, "May your mother lose you! You see these Jews and Christians among them with the Scriptures between their hands, but they do not adhere to the teachings of their prophets. Indeed, one of the ways knowledge is taken away is when the people belonging to it are taken away." This was repeated three times.
[Machine] We accompanied the Prophet ﷺ on a military expedition, and on our way, we passed by a cave in which there was some water. The man's inner self urged him to stay in that cave, drink the water, consume the dates around it, and forsake the worldly life. He said, "If I mention this to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he gives me permission, I will do it; otherwise, I will not." He went to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, I passed by a cave in which there is water and dates to sustain me. My inner self has advised me to stay there and forsake the worldly life." The Prophet ﷺ said, "I was not sent to adopt Judaism or Christianity, but rather I was sent with a pure and lenient Hanif religion. By the One in Whose hand is my soul, even if you were to remain in a state of prostration throughout the day and the night for sixty years, the rank of one of you standing in the ranks of Jihad is better than it."
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ passed by on a very hot day towards Baqi' Al-Gharqad, and the people were walking behind him. When he heard the sound of their footsteps and noticed their close proximity, he halted until they passed in front of him so as not to feel any arrogance in his heart. When the Prophet ﷺ passed by Baqi' Al-Gharqad, he saw two graves in which two men were buried. The Prophet ﷺ stood and asked, "Who was buried here today?" They replied, "O Prophet of Allah, it is Fulan and Fulan." He said, "Indeed, they are being punished now and being tested in their graves." They asked, "O Messenger of Allah, what is the reason?" He said, "One of them used to walk with slander, and the other did not keep himself clean from urine." Then he took a green leaf and split it into two and placed it on top of the two graves. They asked, "O Prophet of Allah, why did you do this?" He said, "To lighten their punishment." They asked, "O Prophet of Allah, how long will they be punished?" He said, "It is unknown except by Allah." He said, "If it were not for you feeling hardened in your hearts or being increased in speaking, you would have heard what I hear."
[Machine] We sat with the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , and he reminded us and admonished us. Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas cried the most and said, "Oh, I wish I were dead!" The Prophet, ﷺ , said, "Oh Sa'd, do you seek help from me in desiring death?" He repeated this three times, then he said, "Oh Sa'd, if you were created for Paradise, then your life and good deeds are better for you. And if you were created for the Fire, then what a terrible place to hasten towards."
