[Machine] "According to the saying of Allah ﷻ 'Perhaps those who disbelieve wish that they had been Muslims,' Abu Umamah narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'This was revealed regarding the Khawarij when they saw that Allah had pardoned the Muslims and the Ummah as a whole.' They said, 'Oh, we wish we were Muslims.'"

الطبراني:٨٠٤٨ – حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ زُهَيْرٍ التُّسْتَرِيُّ ثنا عَبَّادُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ الْعَنْبَرِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبَّادٍ ثنا حُمَيْدٌ الْخَيَّاطُ عَنْ زَكَرِيَّا بْنِ يَحْيَى صَاحِبِ الْقَصَبِ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ أَبَا غَالِبٍ

عَنْ قَوْلِ اللهِ ﷻ {رُبَمَا يَوَدُّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لَوْ كَانُوا مُسْلِمِينَ} فَقَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو أُمَامَةَ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ نَزَلَتْ فِي الْخَوَارِجِ حِينَ رَأَوْا تَجَاوُزَ اللهِ عَنِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَعَنِ الْأُمَّةِ وَالْجَمَاعَةِ قَالُوا يَا لَيْتَنَا كُنَّا مُسْلِمِينَ
