61. Sacrificial Animals (4/14)
[Machine] In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Allah, may He be praised, said: "So pray to your Lord and sacrifice." [Surah Al-Kawthar, verse 2].
the Messenger of Allah slaughtered some of his sacrificial animals with his won hand, and someone else slaughtered some of them. (Sahih ) (Using translation from Nasāʾī 4419)
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sacrificed a cow for his wives. They mentioned it in a hadith from Sufyan. Al-Shafi'i (may Allah have mercy on him) said, "It was offered as a gift, and it was only sacrificed by the one who gave it along with him."
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ used to send with him the sacrifice and then he would say: "If something is wrong with her (the sacrifice), then I fear her death, so slaughter her, then dip her sandals in her blood, then hit her with it (the sandals), and do not feed her, neither you nor anyone from your companions."
[Machine] He said, "The Muslim Jew and Christian should not slaughter their sacrificial animal together."
[Machine] The Muslim, Jewish, and Christian slaughter their sacrificial animal.
[Machine] Al-Shafi'i says: If an idolater slaughters an animal, its zakat (charitable giving) is permissible for me, although I dislike it. The Sheikh said: This is because of what has previously been mentioned regarding the permissibility of their slaughter. And it has been narrated from Ata ibn Abi Rabah that he did not see any harm in it.
61.22 [Machine] Sacrifices of Arab Christians
[Machine] The Christians of the Arab lands are not considered to be People of the Book, and their sacrifices are not permissible for us. I will not abandon them until they convert or I kill them.
[Machine] He said, "Do not eat the sacrifices of the Christians, for they have not held onto their religion except by drinking alcohol."
61.23 [Machine] What is in the sacrifice of the Magi?
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ wrote to the Magians of Hajar, offering them Islam. Whoever accepted it would be accepted, and whoever refused would have to pay the jizyah tax. They would not be allowed to eat the meat of animals sacrificed by Muslims nor marry Muslim women. This letter was sent and it is confirmed by the consensus of the majority of the Ummah.
61.24 [Machine] The Sunnah in facing the Qibla with the sacrifice Al-Zuhri said, "If one is ignorant, there is no harm in eating after mentioning the name of Allah upon it." And we have been narrated in the Hadith of Jabir ibn Abdullah that the Prophet ﷺ slaughtered two mature salted rams on the day of Eid. When he faced them, he said, "{I have turned my face firmly towards Him who created the heavens and the earth}" (Quran 6:79). He mentioned it, and that is reported. And in another narration: he faced them towards the Qibla at the time of slaughter.
[Machine] The passage in English is: "The narration was that he used to face the Qibla with his sacrifice, and a hadith was narrated in it from Ghālib al-Jazarī from 'Atā' from 'Ā'ishah, and its chain of transmission is weak."
61.25 [Machine] The inscription on the sacrifice
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ used to sacrifice two sheep and would place his foot on their sides, then he would slaughter them with his own hand, saying "In the name of Allah, Allah is the Greatest."
61.26 [Machine] Prayer upon the Messenger of Allah at the time of slaughter
[Machine] I entered the mosque and saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ leaving the mosque, so I followed him walking behind him without him noticing until he entered a date palm tree. He faced the qibla (direction of prayer) and prostrated, prolonging his prostration, while I was behind him until I thought that Allah might have taken his soul. So I approached him and lowered my head to look at his face, and he raised his head and said, "What is it, O Abdur Rahman?" I said to him, "When you prolonged the prostration, O Messenger of Allah, I feared that Allah had taken your soul, so I came to check." He said, "When I entered the date palm tree, I met Jibril (the Angel Gabriel) ﷺ , who said, 'I give you glad tidings that Allah says: Whoever sends peace upon you, I send peace upon him, and whoever prays upon you, I pray upon him.' This has also been narrated by Ibn Abi Sondar from Maula Abdullah ibn Auf from Abdul Rahman." Ash-Shafi'i (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Whoever forgets to pray upon me will miss the path to Paradise.'"

“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ‘Whoever forgets to send peace and blessings upon me, then he has missed the road to Paradise.’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 908)
[Machine] About Mujahid's saying, "And We raised high for you your repute" [Surah Al-Inshirah 4]. I only mention what you have mentioned, "I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is the messenger of Allah."
[Machine] If Allah is mentioned, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ is mentioned.
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do not mention me during three situations: when naming food, during slaughter, and when sneezing. This is based on the narration of Abd al-Rahim and his father, who are considered weak narrators. Sulaiman ibn Isa al-Sijzi is also among those who fabricate Hadiths, and if Yahya ibn Yahya knew about his state, he would not have allowed the narration from him. Our scholar, Abu Abdullah al-Hafiz, may Allah have mercy on him, mentioned this, and Abu Ahmad ibn Adi al-Hafiz also attributed him to fabricating Hadiths. Abu Sa'ad al-Malini, who heard it from him, reported this. And Abu Sa'ad al-Malini reported from Abu Ahmad ibn Adi, who said, "I heard Muhammad ibn Hammad saying, 'Al-Sa'adi, who is Ibn Yahya al-Jawzjani, reported the etiquettes of Sufyan, but he is a liar and an open fabricator.'"
61.27 [Machine] The statement of the presenter: "O Allah, from You and to You, so accept from me". And the statement of the presenter about someone else: "O Allah, accept from so-and-so".
The Prophet ﷺ ordered a horned ram with black legs, black belly and black round the eyes, and it was brought from him to sacrifice. He said: 'Aishah, get the knife then he said: Sharpen it with a stone. So I did. He took it, then take the ram he placed it on the ground and slaughtered it. He then said: In the name of Allah. O Allah, accept it for Muhammad, Muhammad's family and Muhammad's people. Then he sacrificed it. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2792)
I witnessed sacrificing along with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ at the place of prayer. When he finished his sermon, he descended from his pulpit, and a ram was brought to him. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ slaughtered it with his hand, and said: In the name of Allah, Allah, is Most Great. This is from me and from those who did not sacrifice from my community. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2810)
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ slaughtered two male, horned, salted, and vetted sheep. When he faced them, he said, "Indeed, I have faced my face to the one who created the heavens and the earth, following the religion of Ibrahim, a sincere worshipper. And I am not of the polytheists. Indeed, my prayer, my sacrifice, my living, and my dying are for Allah, the Lord of the worlds. He has no partner. And with this, I have been commanded, and I am of the Muslims." O Allah, it is from You and for You, on behalf of Muhammad and his Ummah. In the name of Allah, and Allah is the Greatest. Then he slaughtered. This wording is attributed to Eesa bin Yunus, and in the narration of Al-Wahbi, it is attributed to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that he slaughtered two sheep on the day of Eid. When he faced them, he said the supplication, and then he said, "O Allah, it is from You and for You, on behalf of Muhammad and his Ummah." He mentioned the names of Allah and slaughtered. This was narrated by Ibrahim bin Tahman from Muhammad bin Ishaq, and it was said in the Hadith that he faced them towards the Qibla when he slaughtered. And it was narrated by Muhammad bin Ishaq from Yazid bin Khalid bin Abi Imran from Abu Ayyash from Jabir, may Allah be pleased with him. Al-Shafi'i, may Allah have mercy on him, said, "It has been narrated from the Prophet ﷺ through an authentic chain of narration that he slaughtered two sheep in a manner that cannot be emulated. He said after mentioning Allah, 'O Allah, it is from Muhammad and the family of Muhammad.' In another narration, 'O Allah, it is on behalf of Muhammad and the Ummah of Muhammad.'"

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to sacrifice two horned rams. He would begin with one of them and say, "In the name of Allah, Allah is the Greatest. O Allah, (this sacrifice is) from You and for You on behalf of Muhammad and his Ummah, whoever testifies to Your Oneness and testifies to my Prophethood." And then he would slaughter the other ram and say the same words, except replacing "from You and for You" with "from Muhammad and the family of Muhammad." This is the wording of the hadith of Ibn Bashran and in the narration of Ibn Abdan it is mentioned that the Prophet ﷺ used to buy two fat, horned rams, salted (preserved), and sacrificed one of them on behalf of his Ummah, whoever testifies to his Prophethood and testifies to his message, and the other on behalf of Muhammad and the family of Muhammad."

[Machine] I said to him his saying, 'And the sacrificial camels - We have made them for you as among the symbols of Allah, for you therein is good. So mention the name of Allah upon them when lined up [for sacrifice].'
