61. Sacrificial Animals
I heard the Prophet ﷺ saying, "If there is any good in your medicines, then it is in a gulp of honey, a cupping operation, or branding (cauterization), but I do not like to be (cauterized) branded. (Using translation from Bukhārī 5702)
[Machine] Narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "If there is a cure in your medicines or what you treat with, then it is the cupping therapy, drinking honey, or cauterization with fire that matches the disease. And I do not like to be cauterized."
[Machine] The prophet ﷺ said, "There is a cure in three things: a cupping session, drinking honey, or cauterization with fire. And I prohibit my followers from cauterization."
[Machine] "Yesterday, at a certain hour, was it like this and like that? So I said, like this and like that. He thought I was praying, so I said, I was stung yesterday. He said, did you not seek treatment? I said, I heard Ash-Sha'bi talking about Bura'idah bin Husayb saying that he said, there is no cure except through an eye or a hump. Sa'id bin Jubayr narrated from Ibn 'Abbas that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, seventy thousand people from my Ummah will enter Paradise without being held accountable. So I said, who are they? He said, they are those who do not seek treatment through Ruqyah, do not believe in bad omens, do not cauterize themselves, and put their trust in their Lord."
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "Whoever seeks omens or practices divination has abandoned reliance on Allah." It was narrated from Mujahid, from Hassaan ibn Abi Al-Jazaa', from Aqqaar, that Mujahid heard the hadith from Aqqaar but did not memorize it, so he instructed Hassaan to memorize it for him. Jarir narrated it from Mansur.
The Prophet ﷺ forbade to cauterise; we cauterised but they (cauterisation) did not benefit us, nor proved useful for us. Abu Dawud said: He used to hear the salutation of the angels: When he cauterized, it stopped. When he abandoned, it returned to him. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 3865)
