9. Funerals
That her father said: I had a complaint at Mecca. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to pay a sick-visit to me. He put his hand on my forehead, wiped my chest and belly, and then said: O Allah! heal up Sa'd and complete his immigration. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 3104)
[Machine] When the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , visited a sick person, he would wipe his face and chest, or he would wipe over his chest and say, "Take away the pain, O Lord of mankind, and heal, for You are the Healer. There is no cure except Your cure, a cure that leaves no sickness." [Narrated by Muslim]
When his illness, in which he died, became severe, I took his hand to place it on his chest and recite this supplication. But he withdrew his hand from me and said, "O Allah, admit me into the highest companion."
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ went out returning from one of his companions while I was with him. He took hold of his hand and placed his hand on his forehead. He was observing this from the beginning of the visit of the sick. Then he said, "Indeed, Allah, blessed and exalted, says, 'This is My fire which I unleash upon My believing servant, so that his share from the fire in the hereafter is taken care of.'" Abu Usama narrated this from Abdur Rahman and said that Abu Salih Al-Ash'ari narrated it from Abu Huraira.
[Machine] Fever is a heat that Allah sends upon His believing servant in this world. Their portion of it will be from the fire of Hell. Abu Tahir informed us, Abu Hamid narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, Abu Mus'hir narrated to us, Sa'id ibn 'Abdul-'Aziz narrated to us from Isma'il ibn 'Ubayd Allah. He said, "I fell ill so Abu Salih al-Ash'ari came and informed me about Ka'b al-Ahbar and mentioned him."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said: "Cure your sick through charity, protect your wealth through giving Zakat, and prepare for adversity through supplication." Abu Abdullah (Imam Ahmad) said: 'Musa bin Umayr narrated this solely.' The Sheikh (Ibn Hajar) said: 'Indeed, this chain of narration is known to come from Al-Hasan Al-Basri through a hadith transmitted from the Prophet, ﷺ .'
