9. Funerals
[Machine] A woman from Juhaynah came to the Prophet ﷺ while she was pregnant from adultery. The Prophet ﷺ ordered her guardian to treat her kindly. When she delivered her baby, she was brought to the Prophet ﷺ and her clothes were tied around her. Then he ordered that she be stoned. Afterward, he prayed over her. Umar said to him, "O Messenger of Allah, do you pray over her even though she committed adultery?" He replied, "She had repented with such a repentance that if it were distributed among the people of Medina, it would have sufficed them all. Have you found anything better than she sacrificed her life for?”
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ did not perform the funeral prayer for Ma'iz bin Malik, nor did he prohibit praying for him. It has been narrated that Ali bin Abi Talib said that when he stoned Al-Hamdaniyyah (a certain tribe), he said, "Treat him (the stoned person) as you would with your dead."
