9.170 [Machine] Who dislikes eulogy, adhan and the fate that cannot be disliked?

٩۔١٧٠ بَابُ مَنْ كَرِهَ النَّعْيَ وَالْإِيذَانَ وَالْقَدْرَ الَّذِي لَا يُكْرَهُ مِنْهُ

bayhaqi:7179Abū al-Ḥasan ʿAlī b. Muḥammad al-Muqriʾ > al-Ḥasan b. Muḥammad b. Isḥāq > Yūsuf b. Yaʿqūb > Muḥammad b. Abū Bakr > Muslim b. Qutaybah > Ḥabīb / Ibn Sulaym al-ʿAbsī > Bilāl al-ʿAbsī > Kān

[Machine] Huzaifah, when there was a funeral in his family, nobody would announce it, and he would say, "I am afraid that it may become a eulogy. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbidding eulogies." This is narrated from Ibn Mas'ud, Ibn Umar, Abu Sa'eed, Alqamah, Ibn al-Musayyab, Rabi'ah ibn Khaytham, and Ibrahim al-Nakhai. It has also been reported to me from Malik ibn Anas that he said, "I do not like shouting about a man's death at the doors of the mosques. Even if he stands on the steps of the mosques and people know about his death, there is no harm in that." And it has been reported from Anas ibn Malik that the Prophet ﷺ eulogized Ja'far, Zaid, Ibn Rawaha, and from Abu Hurairah that the Prophet ﷺ eulogized the Najashi. And from him regarding the death of a man who used to stand in the mosque and was buried at night, "Why didn't you inform me?" And in another narration, "What prevented you from informing me?"

[Machine] The likeness of Raafidh (a person's name) is like one who will not leave until those around us in the villages are informed and they wake up and go out with his funeral procession.

[Machine] We used to inform the Prophet (PBUH) whenever one of us passed away, and he would come and seek forgiveness for the deceased until the burial was done. Sometimes he would sit along with us until the burial, and other times he would leave before that. It was burdensome for him, so some people suggested that we should not inform the Prophet (PBUH) until after the burial, so that he wouldn't have to go through the hardship. We followed their suggestion and informed him after the burial, and he would come and pray for the deceased. Sometimes he would leave immediately, and other times he would stay until the burial was done. We continued to do this until today.
