23. Book of Quranic Exegesis (Tafsīr)
[Machine] "Abdullah read: 'Rather, you should be amazed, while they mock' [As-Saaffaat 12]. Shurayh said, 'Indeed, Allah is not amazed by anything. Rather, He amazes those who do not know.' Al-A'mash said, 'I narrated this to Ibrahim, and he said, 'Indeed, Shurayh used to be amazed by his own opinions. Abdullah was more knowledgeable than Shurayh, and Abdullah used to recite it as ‘Rather, you should be amazed' [As-Saaffaat 12].'"
[Machine] "Their example is like those who are similar to them."
[Machine] I heard the Prophet ﷺ saying, "Whenever a person invites someone to something, he will be held accountable for it on the Day of Judgment. He will be tied to it and it will be brought together with him. Then he recited the verse, 'And they will not be questioned about their sins.' (Surah As-Saafat, 37:24)" This is how Al-Hasan bin Ahmad Al-Tustari narrated it from Ubaidullah bin Mu'adh. If it was permissible for us to accept it from him, we would have done so. However, we verify it based on the condition of the two scholars and we say that its correctness is established.
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Whoever calls his Muslim brother to something, and even if a man calls another man, he will be held accountable for him on the Day of Resurrection and will be linked to him. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited the verse, 'And prevent them, indeed they are to be questioned' (Quran 37:24)."
[Machine] From the followers of Noah to Ibrahim, following his method and his Sunnah, he reached the age of maturity until his actions were comparable to the actions of Ibrahim. When they submitted to what they were commanded, Allah commanded Ibrahim to present his forehead and he placed his face towards the ground. Ibrahim said, "Do not slaughter me while you are looking at me. Perhaps you will have mercy on me, so do not prepare yourself to slaughter me. Tie my hands to my neck and then place my face on the ground." When he put his hand to slaughter him, the blade did not cut until the call came, "O Ibrahim, you have indeed fulfilled the vision." (Surah As-Saffat, 105) So he held his hand and raised his words, "And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice." (Surah As-Saffat,107) With a great ram that was accepted. Ibn 'Abbas claimed that the sacrificed one was Ismael.
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ used to say "His eyes sleep but his heart does not sleep."
