23. Book of Quranic Exegesis (Tafsīr)
[Machine] "From whom?" I said, "From the Bani Asad tribe," he said. "From their noble lineage or from those whom Allah has blessed?" I said, "From those whom Allah has blessed." He said, "Ask." I said, "I swear by the Day of Resurrection." He said, "Your Lord swears by whatever He wills of His creations." I said, "And I swear by the reproachful soul." He said, "It is the soul that blames itself." I said, "Does man think that We will never assemble his bones? Yes, We are able to put together in perfect order the tips of his fingers." He said, "If He wills, He could make him (man) flat, then backward." I said, "Then it will be [the same for him] a resting place and a depository." He said, "The resting place is in the womb, and the depository is in the backbone."
[Machine] "About Ibn Abbas, it is said: 'Rather, man desires to commit evil openly.' [Surah Al-Qiyamah, verse 5] He says: 'I will repent.' [Surah Al-Qiyamah, verse 6] 'He will ask, "When is the Day of Resurrection?"' [Surah Al-Qiyamah, verse 6] 'Then the vision will become clear to him when it dazzles the sight.' [Surah Al-Qiyamah, verse 7]"
[Machine] On the authority of Abdullah, in his statement, Almighty Allah says: "On the day when some signs of your Lord come, faith will not benefit a soul that did not believe before." (Quran 6:158) He said, "The sunrise from its west." Then he recited this verse: "And the sun and moon are joined, the human being will say on that day: Where is the escape?" (Quran 75:10)
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The lowest rank of the people of Paradise is for a man who looks at his kingdom for a thousand years, seeing its furthest reaches as he sees its closest parts. He looks at his wives, servants, and palaces. The highest rank of the people of Paradise is for the one who looks at the face of Allah Almighty twice every day." Israel ibn Yunus transmitted from Thawr from Ibn Umar, who said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'The lowest rank of the people of Paradise is for the one who looks at his kingdom for a thousand years, and the highest rank is for the one who looks at the face of Allah Almighty twice every day.' Then he recited: 'Faces that Day will be radiant, looking at their Lord' (Quran 75:22), and 'To their Lord, on that Day, the gazes will be cast' (Quran 75:23). He said, 'They will look at the face of Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, every day.'"
[Machine] I said to Ibn Abbas, "Is it something that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said or something that Allah revealed?" He replied, "It is something that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, and then Allah revealed it."
[Machine] Indeed, when the Prophet ﷺ read the verse "Is not He capable of reviving the dead?" (Qiyamah 40), he said "yes." And when he read the verse "Is not Allah the wisest of judges?" (At-Tin 8), he also said "yes."
