23. Book of Quranic Exegesis (Tafsīr)
If anyone learns by heart the first ten verses of the Surah al-Kahf, he will be protected from the Dajjal. (Using translation from Muslim 809a)
[Machine] The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Whoever recites Surah Al-Kahf on Friday, he will be illuminated with light from between the two Fridays."
"He will be given water of Sadid to drink, he will swallow it..." that the Prophet ﷺ said: " It will be brought toward his mouth and he will dislike it, so whenever it is brought closer to him it will melt his face and the skin of his head will fall into it. Then whenever he drinks from it, his bowels will be severed until it comes out from his anus. Allah, the Blessed and Exalted says: "And they will be given water of Hamim to drink such that it cuts up their bowels..." and He says: "And if they call for drink they will be given water of Muhl which melts the faces, the worst of drinks..." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 2583)
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "When Moses met Al-Khidr (peace be upon them), a bird came and dipped its beak in the water. Al-Khidr said to Moses, 'Reflect on what this bird is saying.' Moses asked, 'And what is it saying?' Al-Khidr replied, 'It is saying: You have no knowledge, and Moses has no knowledge except what Allah has given him from my beak.'"
[Machine] "In order to preserve the righteousness of their father and what was mentioned about them being righteous, [this narration] is considered authentic according to the conditions of the two Sheikhs (referring to Al-Bukhari and Muslim), but it was not included based on the conditions of Al-Bukhari and Muslim."
[Machine] "It was neither gold nor silver; it was sheets of knowledge."
[Machine] From the Prophet ﷺ regarding the saying of Allah Almighty: "And they possess a treasure from Him" [Al-Kahf 82]. He said, "It is gold and silver." But it is narrated by Yazid bin Yusuf Matruuk.
[Machine] "Enough for you is what Moses and al-Khidr debated."
[Machine] The translation of the sentence is: "Indeed, the descendants of the believers will be taken care of and looked after in paradise by Prophet Ibrahim, peace be upon him."
[Machine] I said to my father, "Shall we inform you of the greatest losers in deeds, those whose efforts have been wasted in worldly life while they thought that they were doing well in their works?" [Surah Al-Kahf 104]. Who are the Harurites? He said, "No, but they are the people of towers and Harurites, a people who have deviated, so Allah caused their hearts to deviate."
[Machine] I used to read to my father until I reached this verse: "Say, shall we inform you who will be the greatest losers in their deeds?" [Surah Al-Kahf: 103]. I said, "O my father, are they the Khawarij?" He replied, "No, my son, read the verse that comes after it: 'Those are the ones who disbelieve in the verses of their Lord and in their meeting Him, so their deeds have become worthless, and We will not assign to them on the Day of Resurrection any importance.'" [Surah Al-Kahf: 105]. He said, "They are the Christians who exert themselves to disbelieve in the signs of their Lord with Muhammad and to deny his meeting." And they said, "There is no food in Paradise, nor drink, but the Khawarij are the transgressors who break the covenant of Allah after its binding and cut off what Allah has commanded to be joined, and they cause corruption on the earth. Those are the losers."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Ask Allah for Al-Firdaus as it is the highest place in Jannah (Paradise)."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Indeed, it has been revealed to me that whoever hopes to meet his Lord, then let him do good deeds and not associate anyone in the worship of his Lord. He will have a light from his home to Mecca and the angels will surround him."
[Machine] "Oh Messenger of Allah, a man strives in the path of Allah while seeking worldly gains, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'He will have no reward.' This amazed the people, so the man returned and said, 'He will have no reward.'"
