15. Chapter of Ṣād (Male) (3/19)
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, Allah has opened a door from the west, its width spans seventy autumns for repentance. It will not be closed until the sun rises from its west. And no person seeks knowledge in the morning or in the evening except that the angels spread their wings in approval of his actions." The Arabs then said, "O Prophet of Allah, did Allah not give one specific quality that is better?" He replied, "Good character." They then asked him, "Do you seek treatment?" He replied, "Did you not know that the One who sent down illness also sent down its cure? There is no illness that Allah has sent down except that He has also sent down its cure, except for one illness." They then asked, "O Prophet of Allah, what is it?" He replied, "Old age." He then said, "For the traveler, they can wipe over their socks for three days, and for the resident, one day and one night."
"A Jew said to his companion: 'Let us go to this Prophet.' His companion said to him: 'Do not say Prophet; if he hears you, he will become big-headed.' So they came to the Messenger of Allah [SAW] and asked him about nine clear signs. He said to them: 'Do not associate anything with Allah, do not steal, do not commit adultery, do not kill any soul whom Allah has forbidden you to kill, except by right, do not speak falsely about an innocent man before a ruler, do not engage in magic, do not consume Riba (usury), do not slander chaste women, and do not flee on the day of the march (to battle). And for you Jews especially, do not break the Sabbath.' They kissed his hands and feet and said: 'We bear witness that you are a Prophet.' He said: 'What is keeping you from following me?' They said: 'Dawud prayed that there would always be a Prophet among his descendants, and we are afraid that if we follow you, the Jews will kill us.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 4078)
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, may ﷺ , sent me on a military expedition and said, "Attack in the name of Allah, in the cause of Allah. Do not exceed the limits, do not betray, do not kill a child, and for the traveler, allow him three days and nights, and for the resident, one day and night to wipe over their sandals."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ emphasized the importance of seeking knowledge before departing. A man then asked, "How can he go when we have learned from him and taught our children?" The Prophet became angry and said, "Is not the Torah and the Gospel in the hands of the people of the Book? Does that not suffice for them?"
[Machine] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ , he said "Perform the Dhuhr (noon) prayer when the heat is intense, for the intensity of the heat is from the breath of Hellfire."
[Machine] My father Safwan migrated to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ in Medina and pledged allegiance to Islam. The Prophet ﷺ extended his hand to him and wiped his hand over it. Safwan said to him, "I love you, O Messenger of Allah." The Prophet ﷺ said to him, "A person will be with whom he loves."
[Machine] He brought his sheep and caught two rabbits. He slaughtered them with a blade and then brought them to the Prophet ﷺ . He hung them and said, "O Messenger of Allah, I slaughtered them with a blade." The Prophet ﷺ said, "Both of them."
[Machine] From the prophet ﷺ that he said, "O Suhar bin Abbas, take care of your health and offer your neighbor a drink."

[Machine] I went to a man from the companions of the Prophet ﷺ called Safwan ibn 'Assal and he asked me, "What brings you here?" So I said, "I came to seek knowledge." He said, "Shouldn't I inform you that the angels spread their wings for the seeker of knowledge, satisfied with what he does?" And I have seen us with the Prophet ﷺ on a journey when an Arab called out to him in a loud voice, so the Prophet ﷺ said to him, "Here I am." The man said, "A person loves a people but has not done their deeds." So the Prophet ﷺ said, "A person is with those he loves."
'When we were traveling, Messenger of Allah would order us not to remove our Khuff for three days and nights, except for Janabah, but not for defecating, urinating, and sleep." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 96)
[Machine] "I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to ask him about wiping over the socks. So I said, 'O Messenger of Allah, I came to ask you about knowledge.' He said, 'Verily, the angels lower their wings for the seeker of knowledge, satisfied with what he seeks.' 'And what knowledge do you ask about?' I said. 'O Prophet of Allah, I ask about wiping over the socks,' he said. 'Yes, there is one day and night for the resident and three for the traveler, from defecation or urination, then he renews ablution.'"
'When we were traveling, Messenger of Allah would order us not to remove our Khuff for three days and nights, except for Janabah, but not for defecating, urinating, and sleep." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 96)
[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to instruct us, when we traveled, not to remove our shoes for three days and nights, except for when in a state of major ritual impurity. He would instruct us to wipe over them if they became soiled with feces, urine, or sleep."
[Machine] "When we were with the Prophet ﷺ, we would wipe over our shoes three times during travel, except for in a state of major ritual impurity (junub), but rather for minor impurity (gha'it), urine (bol), and sleep."
[Machine] I heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ who said, "When we were on a journey, he would instruct us not to remove our socks for three nights and days, except for janabah (sexual impurity), but rather for urination, defecation, or sleep."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said about wiping over the two khuffs: "Three days for the traveler and one day and one night for the resident."
[Machine] "What brings you here?" I said, "I seek knowledge." He said, "Verily, the angels spread their wings for the seeker of knowledge, pleased with what he seeks." I asked him about wiping over the socks, and he said, "We used to wipe over the socks for three days and nights for the traveler, and one day and night for the resident."
The Prophet ﷺ said: The time limit for wiping over the socks for a traveller is three days (and three nights) and for a resident it is one day and one night. Abu Dawud said: Another version adds: Had we requested him to extend (the period of wiping), he would have extended. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 157)
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said regarding wiping (during ablution): "For a traveler, on the two socks/thin shoes, three days and their nights, and for a resident, one day and night."
[Machine] "The Prophet ﷺ used to command us to wipe for three days and nights while traveling, and for a day and night for those staying. And I heard the Prophet ﷺ saying, 'Whoever sets out in search of knowledge, the angels spread their wings for him.'"
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out to us and began to say, "Verily, repentance has a gate which is as wide as the distance between the two ends of East and West, and it will not be closed until the sun rises from its place of setting." Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited the verse, "The Day when some of the signs of your Lord will come, no soul will benefit from its faith as long as it had not believed before or had earned through its faith some good."
خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَيْنَا فَأَنْشَأَ يُحَدِّثُنَا «إِنَّ لِلتَّوْبَةِ بَابًا عَرْضُ مَا بَيْنَ مِصْرَاعَيْهِ مَا بَيْنَ الْمَشْرِقِ وَالْمَغْرِبِ لَا يُغْلَقُ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ مِنْ مَغْرِبِهَا» ثُمَّ قَرَأَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ {يَوْمَ يَأْتِي بَعْضُ آيَاتِ رَبِّكَ لَا يَنْفَعُ نَفْسًا إِيمَانُهَا لَمْ تَكُنْ آمَنَتْ مِنْ قَبْلُ أَوْ كَسَبَتْ فِي إِيمَانِهَا خَيْرًا}
[Machine] Did you hear anything from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ regarding this? He said, "Yes, he used to command us that when we were traveling, we should not remove our socks three times except for Janabah (major ritual impurity), but we could remove them for sleep, defecation, and urination."
[Machine] "We used to never remove our shoes thrice when we traveled or were travelers."
[Machine] "What happened to you?" I said, "Seeking knowledge." He said, "The Prophet ﷺ said, 'Whoever sets out to seek knowledge, he is in the way of Allah until he returns and the angels lower their wings for the seeker of knowledge.'" He said, "And I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Indeed, Allah has opened a door from the west for repentance, the width of which is seventy years, and it will not be closed until the sun rises from the west.'" He said, "I said, 'Increase me with your mercy, may Allah have mercy on you.' He said, 'We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on a journey when a Bedouin with a loud voice called him and said, 'O Muhammad, stop for us to ask you three things.' So the Prophet ﷺ answered him in a way similar to his saying, "Here I am." So the Bedouin came and said, 'A person likes a people, but he does not do their work.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'A person is with whom he loves.' The Sahaba were not as happy with any other Hadith as they were with this one." He said, "I asked him about wiping over the socks. He said, 'When we were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on a journey, we would wipe over the socks for three days and nights, and for the resident, one day and night.' And the wording is from Ali ibn Al-Madini."

[Machine] The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ entered upon a Jewish boy who was sick, and he asked him, "Do you testify that there is no god but Allah?" The boy replied, "Yes." Then the Prophet asked him, "Do you testify that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger?" The boy replied, "Yes." After that, the Prophet and the Muslims attended to him, washed his body, and buried him.

[Machine] While we were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , a man called the Adhan (Muslim call to prayer). The Prophet ﷺ said, "According to the Fitrah (natural disposition)." The man then said, "I testify that there is no god but Allah," so the Prophet ﷺ said, "He has testified to the truth." Then the man said, "I testify that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah," to which the Prophet ﷺ said, "He has been saved from the Fire."

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "The Hour will not be established until earthquakes occur, causing the destruction of Arab tribes, to the point that it will be said, 'Who is left from the descendants of so-and-so?'". I understood that he was referring to the Arabs, as non-Arabs do not have tribes.

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , raided the Banu Mustaliq and we obtained the spoils of the Arabs, so we desired to enjoy ourselves. But our hardship intensified, and we wanted to rest and isolate ourselves. Some of us said to each other, "What should we do about this?" The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , came among us until we asked him. So, we asked him, and the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said, "Separate or don't separate, whatever Allah has ordained will always continue until the Day of Judgment."

[Machine] I went to the Prophet ﷺ and I heard him reciting this verse: "So whoever does an atom's weight of good will see it, and whoever does an atom's weight of evil will see it." So I said, "By Allah, I don't care if I don't hear anything other than this. It is sufficient for me, it is sufficient for me."
[Machine] I went to the Prophet ﷺ , and he presented Islam to me, so I embraced Islam. He also taught me a portion of the Quran. I then said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have performed certain deeds during the time of ignorance (before accepting Islam). Will I be rewarded for them?" He asked, "What did you do?" I replied, "I lost two she-camels and searched for them on a camel of mine. As a result, I found two houses and entered them, where I found an old man in one of them. I asked him if he had seen two she-camels. He replied that he had seen them and guided me towards them. Allah has blessed both of them, and they have been producing offspring. They belong to a family from your tribe, the tribe of Mudar. While he was speaking to me, a woman from another house called out that she had given birth. He asked her if it was a boy, saying that it would be considered a partner from our tribe, or if it was a girl, they would bury her. The woman replied that it was a girl. I asked him about the child that was just born, and he informed me that it was his daughter. I expressed my desire to purchase her from him. He exclaimed, 'O brother of Banu Tameem, are you suggesting that I sell my daughter to you?' I clarified that I do not want to purchase her as a slave, but I want to give her freedom, so that she may not be killed. He asked me what I would give in return, and I replied that I would give him my two lost she-camels and their offspring, as well as my camel (to carry them). He then asked if I would add my male camel to the deal. I agreed, on the condition that he send a messenger with me. Upon reaching my family, I would return his camel to him. He accepted the deal. However, during the night, I began to contemplate whether anybody had been bestowed with such an honorable transaction before me among the Arabs, now that Islam had emerged. I realized that I had just revived 366 households and wished to purchase each one of them with my two lost she-camels and one camel, in addition to the reward that I would receive from Allah. So, I asked the Prophet ﷺ if I would be rewarded for that, to which he replied, "You will be rewarded for it because Allah has favored you with Islam." Ubada and Misdaq narrated this, and Sa'sa'a added that Farazdaq also narrated it.
