١٥۔ بَابُ الصَّادِ ص ٤
رَجَاءُ بْنُ حَيْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ
[Machine] About the Prophet ﷺ , he said, "Whoever introduces a new false belief into Islam, then cut off his tongue." Abdullah ibn Ahmad ibn Hanbal said, "What does it mean to introduce a false belief into Islam?"
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ أَحْدَثَ هِجَاءً فِي الْإِسْلَامِ فَاقْطَعُوا لِسَانَهُ» قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ أَيْ مَعْنَاهُ هَجَا الْإِسْلَامَ
15.3 [Machine] The heading translates to: "The lineage of Abu Sufyan, the Rock son of Harb son of Umayyah son of Abd Shams son of Abd Manaf, and his news and death.

١٥۔٦ الْأَحْنَفُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ مُخَضْرَمٌ وَاسْمُهُ صَخْرُ بْنُ قَيْسِ بْنِ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ حُصَيْنِ بْنِ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ نَزَالِ بْنِ مُرَّةَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ زَيْدِ مَنَاةَ بْنِ تَمِيمِ بْنِ مُرَّةَ
15.7 [Machine] Suhayb ibn Sinan ibn Malik ibn Abd Amr ibn Aqil ibn Amir ibn Jandalah ibn Jadhimah
١٥۔٧ صُهَيْبُ بْنُ سِنَانِ بْنِ مَالِكِ بْنِ عَبْدِ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَقِيلِ بْنِ عَامِرِ بْنِ جَنْدَلَةَ بْنِ جَذِيمَةَ
[Machine] And it is said that Khuzaymah ibn Ka'b ibn Sa'd ibn Aslam ibn Aws ibn Manat ibn An-Namir ibn Qasit ibn Hinb ibn Aqsa ibn Jadheela ibn Asad ibn Rabee'ah ibn Nizar, this lineage was mentioned by Hisham ibn al-Kalbi, the companion of Abdullah ibn Jud'an al-Taymi. He was from the subtribe of the Romans from Mosul and was young, nicknamed Abu Yahya Badri. His mother was Salmah bint al-Harith. It is mentioned the death of Suhayb, and some of his matters.
وَيُقَالُ خُزَيْمَةُ بْنُ كَعْبِ بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ بْنِ أَوْسِ بْنِ مَنَاةَ بْنِ النَّمِرِ بْنِ قَاسِطِ بْنِ هِنْبِ بْنِ أَقْصَى بْنِ جَذِيلَةَ بْنِ أَسَدِ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ بْنِ نِزَارٍ، ذَكَرَ هَذِهِ النِّسْبَةَ هِشَامُ بْنُ الْكَلْبِيِّ حَلِيفُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ جُدْعَانَ التَّيْمِيِّ، وَكَانَتِ الرُّومُ سَبَتْهُ مِنَ الْمَوْصِلِ وَهُوَ صَغِيرٌ يُكْنَى أَبَا يَحْيَى بَدْرِيٌّ، وَأُمُّ صُهَيْبٍ: سَلْمَى بِنْتُ الْحَارِثِ . ذِكْرُ وَفَاةِ صُهَيْبٍ، وَمِنْ أخْبَارِهِ

١٥۔١٣ صُهَيْبُ بْنُ النُّعْمَانِ
15.14 [Machine] Safwan ibn Umayyah ibn Khalaf al-Jumahi, known as Abu Wahb, came to the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, on the day of the conquest of Mecca. He delayed him for four months and witnessed the Battle of Hunayn while he was still a polytheist. Then he embraced Islam after that and was martyred in the killing of Uthman.
١٥۔١٤ صَفْوَانُ بْنُ أُمَيَّةَ بْنِ خَلَفٍ الْجُمَحِيُّ يُكْنَى أَبَا وَهْبٍ «أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى الله عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمْ يَوْمَ فَتْحِ مَكَّةَ، فَأَجَّلَهُ أَرْبَعَةَ أَشْهُرٍ، وَشَهِدَ حُنَيْنًا وَهُوَ مُشْرِكٌ، ثُمَّ أَسْلَمَ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ، تُوُفِّيَ مَقْتَلَ عُثْمَانَ »

١٥۔٢٠ صَعْصَعَةُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ حُصَيْنِ بْنِ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ نَزَالِ بْنِ مُرَّةَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ زَيْدِ مَنَاةَ بْنِ تَمِيمِ بْنِ مُرَّةَ، عَمُّ الْأَحْنَفِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ كَانَ يَنْزِلُ الْبَصْرَةَ
15.21 [Machine] The headline translates to: "The descent of Saasa'ah bin Najiyyah bin 'Iqaal bin Muhammad bin Sufyan bin Mujashii' bin Darim, the grandfather of Farazdaq the poet, to Basrah.
١٥۔٢١ صَعْصَعَةُ بْنُ نَاجِيَةَ بْنِ عِقَالِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سُفْيَانَ بْنِ مُجَاشِعِ بْنِ دَارِمَ جَدُّ الْفَرَزْدَقِ الشَّاعِرِ كَانَ يَنْزِلُ الْبَصْرَةَ
15.22 [Machine] The following heading translates to: "Sunabih bin Al-Asar Al-Bajali bin Al-Ahmasy used to stay in Kufa.
١٥۔٢٢ صُنَابِحُ بْنُ الْأَعْسَرِ الْبَجَلِيُّ بْنُ الْأَحْمَسِيِّ، كَانَ يَنْزِلُ الْكُوفَةَ
[Machine] "That the Prophet ﷺ said, 'There is no protection except for Allah and His Messenger.'"
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا حِمَى إِلَّا لِلَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ»
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "There is no protection except by Allah and His Messenger."
سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «لَا حِمَى إِلَّا لِلَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ»
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "There is no protection except for Allah and His Messenger."
سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «لَا حِمَى إِلَّا لِلَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ»
[Machine] He asked the Prophet ﷺ about fever, so the Prophet replied, "There is no fever except for the sake of Allah and His Messenger."
أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ عَنِ الْحِمَى فَقَالَ «لَا حِمَى إِلَّا لِلَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ»
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There is no fever except for Allah and His Messenger."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَا حِمَى إِلَّا لِلَّهِ وَلِرَسُولِهِ»
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There is no protection (from harm) except for Allah and His Messenger."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَا حِمَى إِلَّا لِلَّهِ وَلِرَسُولِهِ»
15.23 Section
١٥۔٢٣ بَابٌ
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "There is no prohibition except for Allah and His Messenger."
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا حِمَى إِلَّا لِلَّهِ وَلِرَسُولِهِ»
“Sa;b bin Jaththamah told us: ‘The Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed by me when I was in Abwa’ or Waddan, and I gave him some meat of a wild donkey, but he gave it back to me, and when he saw from my face that I was upset, he said: ‘The only reason that we are giving it back is that we are in Ihram.’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3090)
مَرَّ بِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَأَنَا بِالْأَبْوَاءِ فَأَهْدَيْتُ لَهُ حِمَارَ وَحْشٍ فَرَدَّهُ عَلَيَّ فَلَمَّا رَأَى الْكَرَاهِيَةَ فِي وَجْهِي قَالَ «إِنَّهُ لَيْسَ بِنَا رَدٌّ عَلَيْكَ وَلَكِنَّا حُرُمٌ»
[Machine] Al-Qa'nabi narrated from Malik that Bakr ibn Sahl al-Dimyati narrated to us from Abdullah ibn Yusuf, who said: I, Malik, narrated from Ibn Shihab, who narrated from Ubaydullah ibn Abdullah ibn Utbah, who narrated from Ibn Abbas, who narrated from Sa'd ibn Jathama that he presented a wild donkey as a gift to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he was in Abwa' or Waddan. The Prophet ﷺ returned it and when he saw what was on my face, he said, "We only return something that is haram to us."
ثنا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ عَنْ مَالِكٍ ح وحَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ الدِّمْيَاطِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ أَنَا مَالِكٌ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ عَنِ الصَّعْبِ بْنِ جَثَّامَةَ أَنَّهُ أَهْدَى إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ بِالْأَبْوَاءِ أَوْ بِوَدَّانَ حِمَارًا وَحْشِيًّا فَرَدَّهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَلَمَّا رَأَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَا فِي وَجْهِي قَالَ «إِنَّا لَمْ نَرُدَّهُ إِلَّا أَنَّا حُرُمٌ»

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ مَرَّ بِهِ بِالْأَبْوَاءِ أَوْ بِوَدَّانَ فَأَهْدَيْتُ لَهُ حِمَارَ وَحْشٍ فَرَدَّهُ عَلَيَّ فَلَمَّا رَأَى فِي وَجْهِي الْكَرَاهِيَةَ قَالَ «إِنَّهُ لَيْسَ بِنَا رَدٌّ عَلَيْكَ وَلَكِنَّا حُرُمٌ»
[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was given a wild donkey while he was at Al-Abwa, and he returned it to its owner, then he said, "We do not retaliate against you, but we are prohibited from doing so."
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أُهْدِيَ لَهُ حِمَارُ وَحْشٍ وَهُوَ بِالْأَبْوَاءِ فَرَدَّهُ عَلَى صَاحِبِهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ «لَيْسَ بِنَا رَدٌّ عَلَيْكَ وَلَكِنَّا حُرُمٌ»
[Machine] He presented a wild donkey to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , but he returned it. When he saw the rejection in my face from returning his gift, he said, "Indeed, it is not a rejection from us to you, but rather we are forbidden (to accept it)."
أَنَّهُ أَهْدَى إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ حِمَارًا وَحْشِيًّا فَرَدَّهُ عَلَيْهِ فَلَمَّا رَأَى مَا فِي وَجْهِي مِنْ رَدِّ هَدِيَّتِهِ قَالَ «أَمَا إِنَّهُ لَيْسَ بِنَا رَدٌّ عَلَيْكَ وَلَكِنَّا حُرُمٌ»
[Machine] I gifted the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with a wild donkey that I had tamed with a saddle, and I presented it to him with reins. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ returned it to me when he saw the distress on my face due to that. He said, "We did not return it to you out of dislike for it, but because it is prohibited for us."
أَهْدَيْتُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ حِمَارًا وَحْشِيًّا صِدْتُهُ بِوَدَّانَ وَأَهْدَيْتُهُ لَهُ بِالْأَبْوَاءِ فَرَدَّهُ عَلَيَّ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَرَأَى مَا فِي وَجْهِي مِنْ شِدَّةِ ذَلِكَ عَلَيَّ فَقَالَ «إِنَّا لَمْ نَرُدَّهُ عَلَيْكَ كَرَاهِيَةً لَهُ وَلَكِنَّا حُرُمٌ»
[Machine] It is narrated that a man gave the Messenger of Allah ﷺ a piece of donkey meat as a gift, but he refused it and said, "We consider it forbidden."
أَنَّهُ أَهْدَى إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ رَجُلٌ لَحْمَ حِمَارِ وَحْشٍ فَرَدَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَقَالَ «إِنَّا حُرُمٌ»
[Machine] "He gave the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , a wild donkey, but he refused it and showed his dislike on his face. He said, 'We only return it to you because we are forbidden from accepting it.'"
أَنَّهُ أَهْدَى لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ حِمَارَ وَحْشٍ فَرَدَّهُ فَرَأَى ذَلِكَ فِي وَجْهِهِ فَقَالَ «إِنَّا لَمْ نَرُدَّهُ عَلَيْكَ إِلَّا أَنَّا حُرُمٌ»
“Sa;b bin Jaththamah told us: ‘The Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed by me when I was in Abwa’ or Waddan, and I gave him some meat of a wild donkey, but he gave it back to me, and when he saw from my face that I was upset, he said: ‘The only reason that we are giving it back is that we are in Ihram.’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3090)
أَهْدَيْتُ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ حِمَارَ وَحْشٍ فَرَدَّهُ عَلَيَّ فَلَمَّا رَأَى فِي وَجْهِي قَالَ «إِنَّهُ لَيْسَ بِنَا رَدٌّ عَلَيْكَ وَلَكِنَّا حُرُمٌ»
[Machine] I presented the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with a wild donkey, and it was forbidden (to give as a gift). So he returned it to me, and when he saw the expression on my face, he said, "There is no returning on your part, but we are forbidden (to accept it)."
أَهْدَيْتُ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ حِمَارَ وَحْشٍ وَهُوَ مُحْرِمٌ فَرَدَّهُ عَلَيَّ فَلَمَّا رَأَى الَّذِي فِي وَجْهِي قَالَ «لَيْسَ بِنَا رَدٌّ عَلَيْكَ وَلَكِنَّا حُرُمٌ»
[Machine] "I heard Sa'd bin Jathama saying, 'I gifted a wild donkey to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in Al-Abwa, but he returned it to me. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw the dislike in my face, he said, "It is not a refusal on our part to you, but we are not allowed to accept it."'
سَمِعْتُ الصَّعْبَ بْنَ جَثَّامَةَ يَقُولُ أَهْدَيْتُ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ حِمَارَ وَحْشٍ بِالْأَبْوَاءِ فَرَدَّهُ عَلَيَّ فَلَمَّا عَرَفَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي وَجْهِي كَرَاهِيَةَ رَدِّهِ قَالَ «إِنَّهُ لَيْسَ بِنَا رَدٌّ عَلَيْكَ وَلَكِنَّا حُرُمٌ»
[Machine] He informed him that he gifted the Messenger of Allah ﷺ a wild donkey while it was wild, and he tamed it.
أَخْبَرَهُ «أَنَّهُ أَهْدَى لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ حِمَارَ وَحْشٍ وَهُوَ بِوَدَّانَ فَرَدَّهُ»
[Machine] He informed him that he had gifted the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) a wild donkey while he was in Al-Abwa or Waddan. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) returned it to him when he recognized in his face displeasure. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "It is not our habit to return gifts, but we are forbidden from accepting them."
أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ أَهْدَى لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ حِمَارَ وَحْشٍ وَهُوَ بِالْأَبْوَاءِ أَوْ بِوَدَّانَ قَالَ فَرَدَّهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَيَّ فَلَمَّا عَرَفَ فِي وَجْهِي رَدَّهُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّهُ لَيْسَ بِنَا رَدٌّ عَلَيْكَ وَلَكِنَّا حُرُمٌ»
[Machine] I gifted the Messenger of Allah ﷺ a wild and stubborn camel, but he returned it to me. When he saw the expression on my face, he said, "We returned it to you only because it is forbidden for us."
أَهْدَيْتُ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ رِجْلَ حِمَارِ وَحْشٍ وَهُوَ بِوَدَّانَ فَرَدَّهَا عَلَيَّ فَلَمَّا رَأَى مَا بِوَجْهِي قَالَ «إِنَّا لَمْ نَرُدَّهُ عَلَيْكَ إِلَّا أَنَّا حُرُمٌ»
[Machine] He gifted the messenger of Allah ﷺ a wild donkey, which was stubborn or untamed. The messenger of Allah ﷺ returned it back to him. He noticed sadness on my face upon returning it to me, so he said, "It is not because we are returning it to you, but we are prohibited (from accepting it)."
أَنَّهُ أَهْدَى لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ حِمَارًا وَحْشِيًّا وَهُوَ بِوَدَّانَ أَوْ بِالْأَبْوَاءِ فَرَدَّهُ عَلَيْهِ فَعَرَفَ فِي وَجْهِي كَآبَةَ رَدَّهِ عَلَيَّ فَقَالَ «لَيْسَ بِنَا رَدٌّ عَلَيْكَ وَلَكِنَّا حُرُمٌ»
15.24 Section
١٥۔٢٤ بَابٌ
“Sa;b bin Jaththamah told us: ‘The Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed by me when I was in Abwa’ or Waddan, and I gave him some meat of a wild donkey, but he gave it back to me, and when he saw from my face that I was upset, he said: ‘The only reason that we are giving it back is that we are in Ihram.’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3090)
مَرَّ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ وَأَنَا بِالْأَبْوَاءِ فَأَهْدَيْتُ لَهُ حِمَارَ وَحْشٍ فَرَدَّهُ عَلَيَّ فَلَمَّا رَأَى فِي وَجْهِي الْكَرَاهِيَةَ قَالَ «إِنَّهُ لَيْسَ بِنَا رَدٌّ عَلَيْكَ وَلَكِنَّا حُرُمٌ»
Messenger of Allah, we kill the children of the polytheists during the night raids. He said: They are from them. (Using translation from Muslim 1745b)
قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّا نُصِيبُ فِي الْبَيَاتِ مِنْ ذَرَارِيِّ الْمُشْرِكِينَ قَالَ «هُمْ مِنْهُمْ»
[Machine] He said, "O Messenger of Allah, we raid the village at night from the pagans while their wives and children are with them, and we kill them." He said, "They are among them."
أَنَّهُ قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّا نَغْشَى الدَّيْرَ لَيْلًا مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ مَعَهُمْ نِسَاؤُهُمْ وَصِبْيَانُهُمْ فَنَقْتُلُهُمْ قَالَ «هُمْ مِنْهُمْ»
[Machine] It was said to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that a group of horses had become jealous at night and had attacked some of the polytheists' sons, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him, "They are from their fathers."
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قِيلَ لَهُ إِنَّ خَيْلًا أَغَارَتْ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَأَصَابَتْ مِنْ أَبْنَاءِ الْمُشْرِكِينَ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «هُمْ مِنْ آبَائِهِمْ»
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about horses that are bred by the polytheists at night. He said, "They belong to their fathers."
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ سُئِلَ عَنِ الْخَيْلِ يُوطِئُهَا أَوْلَادُ الْمُشْرِكِينَ بِاللَّيْلِ قَالَ «هُمْ مِنْ آبَائِهِمْ»
[Machine] They said, "O Messenger of Allah, our horses have trampled upon the children of the polytheists." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "They are from their fathers." And he did not mention Al-Zuhri, Ubaidullah, or As-Sa'ib.
قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّ خَيْلَنَا أَوْطَأَتْ أَوْلَادًا مِنْ أَوْلَادِ الْمُشْرِكِينَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «هُمْ مِنْ آبَائِهِمْ» وَلَمْ يَذْكُرِ الزُّهْرِيَّ وَلَا عُبَيْدَ اللهِ وَلَا الصَّعْبَ
[Machine] He asked the Prophet ﷺ about the secret that affects the offspring in the womb during intercourse, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Their children are from among them."
أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ عَنِ السَّرِيَّةَ تُصِيبُ الذُّرِّيَّةَ فِي غَشْمِ الْغَارَةِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَوْلَادَهُمْ مِنْهُمْ»
[Machine] He asked the Prophet, ﷺ , about the secret mission that can affect children during a surprise attack. The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said, "Their children are from among them."
أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ عَنِ السَّرِيَّةَ تُصِيبُ الذُّرِّيَّةَ فِي غَشْمِ الْغَارَةِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَوْلَادَهُمْ مِنْهُمْ»
[Machine] "He said to the Prophet ﷺ, 'O Messenger of Allah, we sneak into the houses of the polytheists at night while their children and women are with them, and then we kill them.' The Prophet ﷺ said, 'They are with their fathers.'"
أَنَّهُ قَالَ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ نَغْشَى الدَّارَ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ لَيْلًا مَعَهُمْ صِبْيَانُهُمْ وَنِسَاؤُهُمْ فَنَقْتُلُهُمْ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «هُمْ مَعَ آبَائِهِمْ»
[Machine] "O Messenger of Allah, indeed the horses in the ambush would strike some of the children of the polytheists." So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "They are from them or with their fathers."
يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ الْخَيْلَ فِي غَشْمِ الْغَارَةِ تُصِيبُ مِنْ أَوْلَادِ الْمُشْرِكِينَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «هُمْ مِنْهُمْ أَوْ مَعَ الْآبَاءِ»
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about the enemy who attack their women and children during a raid, so he said, "They are from them."
سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنِ الْعَدُوِّ يُبَيَّتُونَ فَيُصَابُ مِنْ نِسَائِهِمْ وَصِبْيَانِهِمْ فِي الْغَارَةِ فَقَالَ «هُمْ مِنْهُمْ»
[Machine] I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about the children who sleep in the homes of idolaters, how will it be for those who are under the protection of the young? He said, "They are from them."
سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ عَنِ الذَّرَارِيِّ فِي دُورِ الْمُشْرِكِينَ نَغْشَاهَا بَيَاتًا كَيْفَ بِمَنْ يَكُونُ تَحْتَ الْغَارَةِ مِنَ الْوِلْدَانِ؟ قَالَ «هُمْ مِنْهُمْ»
[Machine] He said, "O Messenger of Allah, should the children of the polytheists be included in the night raid?" He replied, "Do not do that, there is no need for it and no hardship. Their children are among them." And he forbade the killing of women and children.
أَنَّهُ قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَطْفَالُ الْمُشْرِكِينَ نُصِيبُهُمْ فِي الْغَارَةِ بِاللَّيْلِ قَالَ «لَا تَعُودُوا ذَلِكَ وَلَا حَرَجَ فَإِنَّ أَوْلَادَهُمْ مِنْهُمْ» وَنَهَى عَنْ قَتْلِ النِّسَاءِ وَالصِّبْيَانِ
15.25 Section
١٥۔٢٥ بَابٌ
[Machine] We said, "O Messenger of Allah, the houses of the polytheists are set upon in surprise attacks, and the children are found under the bellies of the horses, and we do not feel it?" He said, "Indeed, they are from them."
قُلْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ الدَّارُ مِنْ دُورِ الْمُشْرِكِينَ نُصَبِّحُهَا بِالْغَارَةِ فَنُصِيبُ الْوِلْدَانَ تَحْتَ بُطُونِ الْخَيْلِ وَلَا نَشْعُرُ؟ فَقَالَ «إِنَهُمْ مِنْهُمْ»
[Machine] They are called the sons of Sahm ibn Amr, a clan from the Banu Qutaybah.
يُقَالُ لَهُمْ بَنُو سَهْمِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو بَطْنٌ مِنْ بَنِي قُتَيْبَةَ»
15.26 [Machine] Sudai bin Al-Ajlan, Abu Umamah Al-Bahili: "His arrival to Sham and his death there, and some of his stories
١٥۔٢٦ صُدَيُّ بْنُ الْعَجْلَانِ أَبُو أُمَامَةَ الْبَاهِلِيُّ «نَزَلَ الشَّامَ، وَمَاتَ بِهَا وَمِنْ أخْبَارِهِ»
[Machine] 7457 - Muhammad ibn Ali al-Madini Fustuqah told us, narrated Yahya ibn Ayyub al-Maqabiri, narrated Ismail ibn Ayyash, who told me Sharahbil ibn Muslim, he said: I heard Abu Umamah al-Bahili, Sudaib ibn Ajlan ibn Amr ibn Wahb
7457 - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْمَدِينِيُّ فُسْتُقَةُ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ الْمَقَابِرِيُّ، ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، حَدَّثَنِي شُرَحْبِيلُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا أُمَامَةَ الْبَاهِلِيَّ صُدَيَّ بْنَ عَجْلَانَ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ وَهْبٍ
[Machine] Abu Umamah Al-Bahili, may Allah have mercy on him, passed away in the year ninety-six at the age of eighty-six.
«تُوُفِّيَ أَبُو أُمَامَةَ الْبَاهِلِيُّ رَحِمَهُ اللهُ وَاسْمُهُ صُدَيُّ بْنُ عَجْلَانَ سَنَةَ سِتٍّ وَثَمَانِينَ سِنُّهُ إِحْدَى وَتِسْعُونَ»
"He will be given water of Sadid to drink, he will swallow it..." that the Prophet ﷺ said: " It will be brought toward his mouth and he will dislike it, so whenever it is brought closer to him it will melt his face and the skin of his head will fall into it. Then whenever he drinks from it, his bowels will be severed until it comes out from his anus. Allah, the Blessed and Exalted says: "And they will be given water of Hamim to drink such that it cuts up their bowels..." and He says: "And if they call for drink they will be given water of Muhl which melts the faces, the worst of drinks..." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 2583)
عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي قَوْلِ اللهِ ﷻ {يُسْقَى مِنْ مَاءٍ صَدِيدٍ يَتَجَرَّعُهُ} قَالَ «يَقْرَبُ إِلَيْهِ فَيَتَكَرَّهُهُ فَإِذَا أُدْنِيَ مِنْهُ شَوَى وَجْهَهُ وَوَقَعَتْ فَرْوَةُ رَأْسِهِ وَإِذَا شَرِبَهُ قَطَّعَ أَمْعَاءَهُ حَتَّى يَخْرُجَ مِنْ دُبُرِهِ» يَقُولُ اللهُ ﷻ {وَسُقُوا مَاءً حَمِيمًا فَقَطَّعَ أَمْعَاءَهُمْ} يَقُولُ اللهُ ﷻ {إِنْ يَسْتَغِيثُوا يُغَاثُوا بِمَاءٍ كَالْمُهْلِ يَشْوِي الْوُجُوهَ بِئْسَ الشَّرَابُ}
[Machine] About the Prophet ﷺ , he said: "Make Allah beloved to His worshipers and Allah will love you."
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «حَبِّبُوا اللهَ إِلَى عِبَادِهِ يُحِبَّكُمُ اللهُ»
15.27 [Machine] Abdullah ibn Busr Al-Yahsibi, from Abu Umamah
١٥۔٢٧ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ بُسْرٍ الْيَحْصِبِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Make Allah beloved to His servants, and Allah will love you."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «حَبِّبُوا اللهَ إِلَى عِبَادِهِ يُحِبَّكُمُ اللهُ»
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ initiated a military expedition, so I approached him and said, "O Messenger of Allah, supplicate to Allah for me to be granted martyrdom." He replied, "O Allah, protect them and grant them spoils." So we went for the expedition, and we were safe and obtained spoils. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ initiated another military expedition, so I said, "O Messenger of Allah, supplicate to Allah for me to be granted martyrdom." He replied, "O Allah, protect them and grant them spoils." So we went for the expedition, and we were safe and obtained spoils. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ initiated a third military expedition, so I said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have come to you twice requesting you to supplicate to Allah for me to be granted martyrdom." He said, "O Allah, protect them and grant them spoils." So we went for the expedition, and we were safe and obtained spoils.
أَنْشَأَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ غَزْوَةً فَأَتَيْتُهُ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ادْعُ اللهَ لِي بِالشَّهَادَةِ فَقَالَ «اللهُمَّ سَلِّمْهُمْ وَغَنِّمْهُمْ» فَغَزَوْنَا فَسَلِمْنَا ثُمَّ أَنْشَأَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ غَزْوًا آخَرَ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ادْعُ اللهَ لِي بِالشَّهَادَةِ فَقَالَ «اللهُمَّ سَلِّمْهُمْ وَغَنِّمْهُمْ» فَغَزَوْنَا فَسَلِمْنَا وَغَنِمْنَا ثُمَّ أَنْشَأَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ غَزْوًا ثَالِثًا فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي أَتَيْتُكَ مَرَّتَيْنِ تَدْعُو لِي بِالشَّهَادَةِ فَقُلْتَ «اللهُمَّ سَلِّمْهُمْ وَغَنِّمْهُمْ» فَغَزَوْنَا فَسَلِمْنَا وَغَنِمْنَا
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ initiated a battle and I came to him and said, "O Messenger of Allah, pray to Allah for me to be a martyr." He said, "O Allah, grant them safety and make them prosperous." So, we fought and we were safe. Then, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ initiated another battle and I said, "O Messenger of Allah, pray to Allah for me to be a martyr." He said, "O Allah, grant them safety and make them prosperous." So, we fought and we were safe and prosperous. Then, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ initiated a third battle and I said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have come to you twice asking for martyrdom." He said, "O Allah, grant them safety and make them prosperous." So, we fought and we were safe and prosperous.
أَنْشَأَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ غَزْوَةً فَأَتَيْتُهُ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ادْعُ اللهَ لِي بِالشَّهَادَةِ فَقَالَ «اللهُمَّ سَلِّمْهُمْ وَغَنِّمْهُمْ» فَغَزَوْنَا فَسَلِمْنَا ثُمَّ أَنْشَأَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ غَزْوًا آخَرَ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ادْعُ اللهَ لِي بِالشَّهَادَةِ فَقَالَ «اللهُمَّ سَلِّمْهُمْ وَغَنِّمْهُمْ» فَغَزَوْنَا فَسَلِمْنَا وَغَنِمْنَا ثُمَّ أَنْشَأَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ غَزْوًا ثَالِثًا فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي أَتَيْتُكَ مَرَّتَيْنِ تَدْعُو لِي بِالشَّهَادَةِ فَقُلْتَ «اللهُمَّ سَلِّمْهُمْ وَغَنِّمْهُمْ» فَغَزَوْنَا فَسَلِمْنَا وَغَنِمْنَا
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ initiated a battle, so I came to him and said, "O Messenger of Allah, pray to Allah for me to be martyred." He said, "O Allah, keep them safe and grant them booty." So we fought, and we emerged safe. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ initiated another battle, so I said, "O Messenger of Allah, pray to Allah for me to be martyred." He said, "O Allah, keep them safe and grant them booty." So we fought, and we emerged safe and gained spoils. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ initiated a third battle, so I said, "O Messenger of Allah, indeed I have come to you twice, asking you to pray for me to be martyred." He said, "O Allah, keep them safe and grant them booty." So we fought, and we emerged safe and gained spoils.
أَنْشَأَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ غَزْوَةً فَأَتَيْتُهُ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ادْعُ اللهَ لِي بِالشَّهَادَةِ فَقَالَ «اللهُمَّ سَلِّمْهُمْ وَغَنِّمْهُمْ» فَغَزَوْنَا فَسَلِمْنَا ثُمَّ أَنْشَأَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ غَزْوًا آخَرَ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ادْعُ اللهَ لِي بِالشَّهَادَةِ فَقَالَ «اللهُمَّ سَلِّمْهُمْ وَغَنِّمْهُمْ» فَغَزَوْنَا فَسَلِمْنَا وَغَنِمْنَا ثُمَّ أَنْشَأَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ غَزْوًا ثَالِثًا فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي أَتَيْتُكَ مَرَّتَيْنِ تَدْعُو لِي بِالشَّهَادَةِ فَقُلْتَ «اللهُمَّ سَلِّمْهُمْ وَغَنِّمْهُمْ» فَغَزَوْنَا فَسَلِمْنَا وَغَنِمْنَا
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent an expedition, and I went out in it. I said, "O Messenger of Allah, supplicate to Allah to grant me martyrdom." He said, "O Allah, grant them security and plunder." So we were secure and we plundered. Then he sent out another army, and I went out in it. I said, "O Messenger of Allah, supplicate to Allah to grant me martyrdom." He said, "O Allah, grant them security and plunder." Then the third time came, and I said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have come to you three times asking you to supplicate to Allah to grant me martyrdom." He said, "O Allah, grant them security and plunder." So we were secure and we plundered, O Messenger of Allah. Then order me to do something. Abu Umamah said: He said, "You should observe fasting, for there is nothing like it and it is incomparable." Abu Umamah said, "He was blessed with goodness because of that."
بَعَثَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بَعْثًا فَخَرَجْتُ فِيهِمْ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ادْعُ اللهَ أَنْ يَرْزُقَنِي الشَّهَادَةَ فَقَالَ «اللهُمَّ سَلِّمْهُمْ وَغَنِّمْهُمْ» فَسَلِمْنَا وَغَنِمْنَا ثُمَّ بَعَثَ جَيْشًا آخَرَ فَخَرَجْتُ فِيهِمْ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ادْعُ اللهَ أَنْ يَرْزُقَنِي الشَّهَادَةَ فَقَالَ «اللهُمَّ سَلِّمْهُمْ وَغَنِّمْهُمْ» ثُمَّ الثَّالِثَةَ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَتَيْتُكَ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ أَسْأَلُكَ أَنْ تَدْعُوَ لِي بِالشَّهَادَةِ فَقُلْتُ «اللهُمَّ سَلِّمْهُمْ وَغَنِّمْهُمْ» فَسَلِمْنَا وَغَنِمْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ فَأْمُرْنِي بِعَمَلٍ قَالَ «عَلَيْكَ بِالصَّوْمِ فَإِنَّهُ لَا مِثْلَ لَهُ وَلَا عِدْلَ لَهُ» قَالَ أَبُو أُمَامَةَ «قَدْ رُزِقَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ خَيْرًا»
[Machine] Abu Idrees Al-Khawlaney mentioned that the Prophet ﷺ initiated a battle.
«أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أَنْشَأَ غَزْوَةً» فَذَكَرَهُ أَبُو إِدْرِيسَ الْخَوْلَانِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ
[Machine] On the authority of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , he said, "You should observe the night prayer, for it was the practice of the righteous before you. It brings you closer to your Lord, expiates your sins, and prevents you from committing evil."
عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «عَلَيْكُمْ بِقِيَامِ اللَّيْلِ فَإِنَّهُ دَأْبُ الصَّالِحِينَ قَبْلَكُمْ وَهُوَ قُرْبَةٌ لَكُمْ إِلَى رَبِّكُمْ وَمَكْفَرَةٌ لِلسَّيِّئَاتِ وَمَنْهَاةٌ عَنِ الْإِثْمِ»
15.28 [Machine] Abu Salih al-Ash'ari, from Abu Umamah
١٥۔٢٨ أَبُو صَالِحٍ الْأَشْعَرِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ
[Machine] On the authority of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , he said, "Fever is a part of Hell, so whatever a believer suffers from it, it is his share of the Fire."
عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «الْحُمَّى كِيرٌ مِنْ جَهَنَّمَ فَمَا أَصَابَ الْمُؤْمِنَ مِنْهَا كَانَ حَظَّهُ مِنَ النَّارِ»
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ used to say when the evening came "Praise be to Allah abundantly, beneficial and blessed. Our Lord, You are not in need, nor do You bid farewell, nor is there any neediness without You."
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا رُفِعَ الْعَشَاءُ مِنْ بَيْنِ يَدَيْهِ قَالَ «الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ كَثِيرًا طَيِّبًا مُبَارَكًا فِيهِ غَيْرَ مَكْفِيٍّ وَلَا مُوَدَّعٍ وَلَا مُسْتَغْنًى عَنْهُ رَبَّنَا»
