6. Meccans (5/16)
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ brought me to him on the day of the conquest of Makkah. Uthman ibn Affan and Zubair came with me and they began to praise him. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to them, "Do not make me known for this, for he was my companion in the days of ignorance." He said, "Yes, O Messenger of Allah, he was indeed an excellent companion." The Prophet ﷺ said, "O Saib, look at your manners that you used to practice in the days of ignorance, and bring them into Islam: be kind to your guests, honor the orphan, and be good to your neighbor."
[Machine] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ, he said: "The prayer of the person sitting is half of the prayer of the person standing."
"You were my partner during the Ignorance period and you were the best of partners, you did not contend or dispute." (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2287)
[Machine] I heard Mujahid saying that Al-Saib Ibn Abi Al-Saib Al-Abidi was a companion of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ during the Jahiliyya (pre-Islamic era). He said, "On the day of the conquest of Makkah, the Prophet ﷺ said, 'By my father and my mother, you will not be harmed or punished.' "
[Machine] He narrated to him that he was among those who were building the Kaaba during the pre-Islamic era. He said, "I had a stone that I carved with my own hands and worshipped it besides Allah, the Blessed and the Exalted. Then I would bring the milk of a specific breed of camel that I considered sacred and pour it on the stone. Then a dog would come and lick it, and afterward it would urinate. We continued building until we reached the place of the stone. But no one could see the stone, until it was in the middle of our stones, barely visible from a man's face. They said, 'It is the abdomen of Quraysh that we place.' Others said, 'No, we place it.' So they said, 'Let us settle this by arbitration.' They said, 'The first man who emerges from the narrow pass will make the decision.' Then the Prophet ﷺ came and they said, 'The trustworthy one has come to you.' They handed the stone to him, and he placed it on a cloth. Then he called their tribal leaders, and they held the edges of the cloth with him. And he placed it (the stone) himself ﷺ .
[Machine] "He used to participate in trade with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ before Islam. Then, on the day of the conquest, he came to him and the Prophet ﷺ said, 'Welcome, my brother and my partner, who used to keep no secrets nor hide anything. O Sa'ib! You used to engage in actions during the period of ignorance that are not acceptable from you, but today they are accepted from you. And he was known for his ties and connections."
6.68 [Machine] Al-Saib bin Khabbab
[Machine] He said, "I saw the wanderer sniffing his clothes, so I asked him, 'Why are you doing that?' He replied, 'I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, 'There is no ablution except with water or by hearing the sound of running water.'"
6.69 [Machine] Amr ibn al-Ahwas
[Machine] I witnessed the Messenger of Allah ﷺ delivering a sermon to the people during the Farewell Pilgrimage. He asked, "Which day is today?" Then he mentioned his sermon on the day of Sacrifice.
6.70 [Machine] Rafi' bin Amr Al-Muzani
[Machine] I heard the Prophet (PBUH) say while I was a guest, "The date palm and the tree are from paradise."
6.71 [Machine] Ma'ieeb: About the Prophet (PBUH)
[Machine] It was said to the Prophet ﷺ, "Does wiping in the mosque refer to wiping over pebbles?" He replied, "If you absolutely must, then only once."
The Messenger of Allah said: 'Woe to the heels because of Hell-fire.'" (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 451)
The Prophet ﷺ talked about a man leveling the earth on prostrating, and said, "If you have to do so, then do it once." (Using translation from Bukhārī 1207)
6.72 [Machine] Muharash Al Kaabi Al Khaza'i
[Machine] It is said that he is a troublemaker or a con artist. Sufyan has not confirmed his name, that the Prophet ﷺ went out of Ji'ranah at night and performed Umrah, then returned and spent the night there. In the morning, he had red marks on his back. I looked at his back and it appeared as if it were made of silver.
"The Messenger of Allah left Al-Ji'irranah during the night for Umrah, then he entered Makkah during he night and performed his Umrah. Then he left there during the night, then he was in Al-Ji'irranah by the morning, as if he had spent the night. When the sun passed the zenith in the morning he left from the midst of Sarif until he came on a road from amidst Sarif. It is because of this that his Umrah was concealed from the people." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 935)
6.73 [Machine] My father Hazem, About the Prophet ﷺ
Qais quoted his father as saying that he (his father) came when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was addressing. He stood in the sun. He ordered him (to shift) and he shifted to the shade. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4822)
[Machine] "He was in the sun, so the Prophet ordered him to move to the shade or be placed in the shade."
[Machine] That his father came and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was giving a sermon, so he sat in the sun. He indicated to him or ordered him to move to the shade.
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ saw me while he was giving a sermon, so he commanded someone to bring me and then I was taken to the shade.
6.74 [Machine] The remainder of the conversation of Muharrash Al-Kaabi
"The Messenger of Allah left Al-Ji'irranah during the night for Umrah, then he entered Makkah during he night and performed his Umrah. Then he left there during the night, then he was in Al-Ji'irranah by the morning, as if he had spent the night. When the sun passed the zenith in the morning he left from the midst of Sarif until he came on a road from amidst Sarif. It is because of this that his Umrah was concealed from the people." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 935)
6.75 [Machine] My father is Al-Yasir Al-Ansari, K'ab ibn Amr.
the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Whoever would like Allah to shade him with His shade, let him give respite to one in difficulty, or waive repayment of the loan.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2419)
[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Whoever shows kindness to someone in hardship or relieves them of their burden, Allah will shade them in His shade.' Muawiyah asked, 'On a day when there is no shade except His shade?'"
[Machine] From Abu Al-Yasar, a companion of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , who said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Among you, there are those who perform the prayer in its entirety, and among you, there are those who perform half, and a third, and a quarter, until they reach one-tenth." Surayj, in his narration, said: "until they reach one-tenth."
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to supplicate: "O Allah, I seek refuge in Thee from my house falling on me, I seek refuge in Thee from falling into an abyss, I seek refuge in Thee from drowning burning and decrepitude. I seek refuge in Thee from the devil harming me at the time of my death, I seek refuge in Thee from dying in Thy path while retreating, and I seek refuge in Thee from dying of the sting of a poisonous creature." (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1552)
The Messenger of Allah [SAW] used to supplicate and say: "Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min al-harami, wat-taraddi, wal-hadmi, wal-ghammi, wal-hariqi, wal-gharaqi, wa a'udhu bika, an yatakhabbatanish-shaitanu 'indal-mawti, wa an uqtala fi sabilika mudbiran, wa a'udhu bika wa an amuta ladigha (O Allah, I seek refuge with You from old age, being thrown from a high place, being crushed by a falling wall, distress, burning and drowning. I seek refuge with You from being led astray by the Shaitan at the time of death and from being killed in Your cause while fleeing from the battlefield. I seek refuge with You from dying of a scorpion sting.)" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5532)
[Machine] "By Allah, we were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in Khaybar one evening, and a flock of sheep approached belonging to a Jewish man who wanted to protect his fortress. We were besieging them. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Who will feed us from these sheep?' Abu Al-Yasar said, 'I will, O Messenger of Allah.' So he did. I went out feeling intense hunger. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw me miserable, he said, 'O Allah, bless him for us.' I caught up with the sheep, and some of them had already entered the fortress. I took two sheep, hugged them under my arm, and went towards the Messenger of Allah ﷺ feeling as if I had nothing. I threw them in front of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and they were slaughtered and eaten. Abu Al-Yasar was among the last companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to pass away. Whenever he narrated this story, he would cry and say, 'By my life, they were the last ones to be blessed with me.'"
6.76 [Machine] My father Fatima about the Prophet ﷺ
[Machine] To me, the Prophet ﷺ said, "O Abu Fatimah, if you wish to meet me, then increase your prostrations."
[Machine] I heard Abu Fatimah while he was with us in Dhi al-Awari say that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "O Abu Fatimah, increase in prostration, for indeed it is not from a Muslim to prostrate to Allah a prostration except that Allah raises him in rank with it."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "O Abu Fatimah, increase in prostration, for there is no person who prostrates to Allah in a prostration except that Allah elevates him with it a degree."
6.77 [Machine] Increase in the speech of Abdurrahman ibn Shabal
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Read the Quran and do not exceed its limits, nor neglect to recite it, nor use it to seek material gain, nor hoard it excessively."
[Machine] "And the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Verily, the traders are the wicked ones.' It was said: 'O Messenger of Allah, but hasn't Allah made trade lawful?' He replied: 'Yes, indeed, but they engage in lying, swearing falsely, and committing sins.'"
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Verily, the disobedient are the people of the Fire." It was said: "O Messenger of Allah, who are the disobedient?" He said: "Women." A man said: "O Messenger of Allah, are our mothers, sisters, and wives disobedient?" He said: "Yes, but they do not express gratitude when given something, and they do not show patience when faced with tribulations."

“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade three things: Pecking like a crow, spreading (the forearms) like a beast of prey, and a man having a place in the mosque in which he usually offers the prayer, like a camel has a place to which it usually goes.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1429)

[Machine] I heard two words from the Prophet ﷺ , one from the Quraysh and another from Najashi. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Observe the Quraysh, take their words and leave their deeds." I was sitting with Najashi when his son came from the place where the Scriptures were kept and he recited a verse from the Gospel. I recognized or understood it and laughed. He asked, "What makes you laugh? Is it something from the Book of Allah, the Most High?" I said, "No, by Allah, it is from what Allah revealed to Jesus son of Mary, that curse would befall the earth when its rulers are young boys."

6.82 [Machine] Al-Harith Ibn Ziyad
[Machine] He came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the day of the trench while he was taking the pledge of allegiance from the people for migration. He said, "O Messenger of Allah, take the pledge of allegiance from me." He said, "And who is this?" He replied, "My cousin, Hawt bin Yazid, or Yazid bin Hawt." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I will not take your pledge of allegiance, for the people are migrating to you, but you are not migrating to them. By the One in whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, a man does not love the Ansar until he meets Allah (on the Day of Judgment) except that he will meet Allah (loving them), and a man does not hate the Ansar until he meets Allah except that he will meet Allah (hating them)."

(Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1551)

[Machine] "My father was one of the companions of the Prophet, and the Messenger of Allah commanded them. So, the man would pair up with another man, and the second man would pair up with two men, until I remained with five men. The Messenger of Allah said, 'Go.' So, we went with him to the house of Aisha, and he said, 'O Aisha, feed us.' She brought a dish, and we ate. Then, she brought a plate with some meat, and we ate. Then, he said, 'O Aisha, give us a drink.' She brought a cup, and we drank. Then, she brought a small jug with milk, and we drank. The Messenger of Allah said, 'If you wish, you can perform Tumm (a ritual purification) or, if you wish, you can go to the mosque.' I said, 'No, let's go to the mosque.' Then, as I was lying down on my stomach, suddenly someone touched me with their foot. He said, 'Allah despises this sleeping position.' So, I looked and it was indeed the Messenger of Allah."

“The Prophet ﷺ said: ‘Friday is the chief of days, the greatest day before Allah. It is greater before Allah then the Day of Adha and the Day of Fitr. It has five characteristics: On it Allah created Adam; on it Allah sent down Adam to this earth; on it there is a time during which a person does not ask Allah for anything but He will give it to him, so long as he does not ask for anything that is forbidden; on it the Hour will begin. There is no angel who is close to Allah, no heaven, no earth, no wind, no mountain, and no sea that does not fear Friday.’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1084)
