6. Meccans (4/16)
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed by Al-Arj, and there he saw a worn out donkey. It didn't take long before a man from Bahz came and said, "O Messenger of Allah, this is my throw. What will you do with it?" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered Abu Bakr to divide it among the companions. Then he continued until he reached a mountain called Uthayyah, and there he found a deer with an arrow in it, and it was grazing in the shade of a rock. The Prophet ﷺ ordered one of his companions to wait there until the rest of the group passes by, so that no one would harm it.
6.42 [Machine] Mohammed bin Hatib Al-Jamhi
“What differentiates between the lawful and the unlawful is (beating) the Daff and raising the voices (in song) at the time of marriage.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1896)
[Machine] "Muhammad ibn Hattab, I was affected by a disease, so my mother took me to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he was in a place. He said some words in which he supplicated that the disease be cured by the Lord of the people. Then he said, 'You should treat it, for you are the healer.' And he used to perform Ruqyah."
[Machine] "I welcomed you from the land of Habasha (Ethiopia) until when I was in the city for a night or two, I cooked a meal for you. Then the fire extinguished, so I went out to look for firewood, and you took the pot and it fell on your arm. I went to the Prophet ﷺ and said, 'By my mother and father, O Messenger of Allah, this is Muhammad ibn Hattab.' So he spat in your mouth, wiped your head, and prayed for you. He also spat on your hands and said, 'O Allah, remove disease, O Lord of the people, heal, for there is no cure except Your cure, a healing that does not leave any illness.' Then she (the narrator) said, 'So when did you begin to recover from this?'"
[Machine] I dipped my hand into a pot while it was boiling. My hand got burned or severely hurt. My mother took me to a man who was in Al-Bathaa and he said something and blew. When I was with Uthman, I asked my mother who that man was. She said, "He is the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ."
6.43 [Machine] Son of Abu Yazid
[Machine] "That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Leave people to befall each other, but when one of you reconciles his brother, then advise him.'"
6.44 [Machine] I made Bin Sufian
[Machine] He asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about a vow he made during the time of ignorance (before Islam). The Prophet ﷺ asked him, "Did you vow to Al-Wathan or Al-Nusub?" He replied, "No, but I made the vow for the sake of Allah, the Blessed and Exalted." The Prophet ﷺ said, "Then fulfill your vow for the sake of Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, and offer the sacrifice you vowed."
6.45 [Machine] Abdullah Al Mazani
On the authority of his father, who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade to break the coins of the Muslims current among them except for some defect. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 3449)
6.46 [Machine] My father, Suleiman Al-Badri
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade us from eating the meat of domestic donkeys, and pots were overturned with it, so we threw it on their faces.
[Machine] The messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade us from eating the meat of donkeys while we were in Khaybar, so we refrained from it, even though we were hungry.
6.47 [Machine] Abdulrahman Bin Khunbash
[Machine] I said to Abdurrahman ibn Khanbash Al-Tamimi, who was an old man, "Did you meet the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?" He replied, "Yes." I asked, "What did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ do on the night when the devils were almost upon him?" He said, "Indeed, the devils gathered around the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that night, from valleys and passes, and among them was a devil holding a lit torch, intending to burn the face of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Then Jibril descended to him and said, 'O Muhammad, say.' The Prophet asked, 'What should I say?' Jibril replied, 'Say: I seek refuge in the complete words of Allah from the evil of what He has created, and from the evil that He has descended from the sky, and from the evil that ascends into it, and from the evil of the trials of the day and the night, and from the evil of every knock, except a knock that brings good. O Most Merciful.' So their fire was extinguished, and Allah, blessed and exalted is He, defeated them."
[Machine] A man asked Abdullah ibn Khunbash, "How did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ deal with the devils when they approached him?" He said, "The devils came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ from the valleys and descended upon him from the mountains. Among them was a devil with a flame of fire, intending to burn the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He became terrified and frightened. Ja'far ibn Abi Talib said, "I think he was about to say something." Ja'far continued, "But then he hesitated." He said, "Then Jibril came and said, 'O Muhammad, say the following: I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah, which no righteous or wicked person can exceed, from the evil of what He has created, originated, and brought into existence. I seek refuge from the evil that descends from the sky, and from the evil that rises therein. I seek refuge from the evil that is scattered on the earth, and from the evil that emerges from it. I seek refuge from the evil of the trials of the night and day, and from the evil of every creature except for a creature that comes with goodness. O Most Merciful! So, the fire of the devils was extinguished and Allah defeated them."

6.48 [Machine] Ibn Abbas, about the Prophet ﷺ
A jinn announcing that a prophet had come inviting to monotheism
We were told by a shaykh who ˹lived during˺ the jāhilī (pre-Islamic period ˹of ignorance˺, while we were in the battle of Rudis, known as Ibn ʿAbs. He said: I used to herd a cow for my family. I heard a clear voice coming from its belly: "O family of Dharīḥ, an eloquent speech, a man calling out that there is no god but Allah." He said, "So we arrived at Mecca and found the Prophet ﷺ had already come out ˹as a Prophet˺."
6.49 [Machine] Ayyash bin Abi Rabee'ah.
[Machine] I heard the Prophet ﷺ say, "A wind will come before the Hour, in which the souls of every believer will be taken."
6.50 [Machine] The article by Ibn Abi Wada'a.
[Machine] I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prostrating by the star, and the people prostrated with him. Al-Muttalib said, "I did not prostrate with them as I was a polytheist that day." Al-Muttalib said, "So I will never abandon prostration towards it."
His father said: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited Surat An-Najm in Makkah and prostrated, and those who were with him prostrated. I raised my head and refused to prostrate." At that time Al-Muttalib had not yet accepted Islam. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 958)
6.51 [Machine] Bin Jariah Complex
[Machine] "The Prophet ﷺ mentioned the Dajjal (the Antichrist) and said, 'He will be killed by Jesus, the son of Mary, at the gate of Ludd.'"
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "The son of Mary will kill the False Messiah at the gate of Lud."
[Machine] I heard the Prophet ﷺ saying, "The son of Mary (Jesus) will kill the False Messiah (Antichrist) near the gate of Lud."
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Jesus, son of Mary, will kill the Antichrist at the gate of Ludd or on the side of Ludd."
Mujammi' was one of the Qur'an-reciters (qaris), and he said: We were present with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ at al-Hudaybiyyah. When we returned, the people were driving their camels quickly. The people said to one another: What is the matter with them? They said: Revelation has come down to the Prophet ﷺ. We also proceeded with the people, galloping (our camels). We found the Prophet ﷺ standing on his riding-animal at Kura' al-Ghamim. When the people gathered near him, he recited: "Verily We have granted thee a manifest victory. A man asked: Is this a victory, Messenger of Allah? He replied: Yes. By Him in Whose hands the soul of Muhammad is, this is a victory. Khaybar was divided among those who had been at al-Hudaybiyyah, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ divided it into eighteen portions. The army consisted of one thousand five hundred men, of which three hundred were cavalry, and he gave two shares to a horseman and one to a foot-soldier. Abu Dawud said: Abu Mu'awiyah's tradition is sounder, and it is one which is followed. I think the error is in the tradition of Mujammi', because he said: "three hundred horsemen." when there were only two hundred. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2736)

6.52 [Machine] Jabbar ibn Sakhr, On the Prophet ﷺ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Who will race with us to Al-Uthayya?" Abu Owais said, "I am where the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered us to gather. He will extend his pond and then overflow it, so that we can come to it." He said, "A strong man said, 'I stood up and said, 'I am.' He said, 'Go.' So I went and came to Al-Uthayya. I extended the pond, overflowed it, and filled it. Then I was overcome by sleep, and I did not wake up except by a man whose camel was going to the water, and he prevented her. He said, 'O Owner of the Pond,' and I said, 'Yes.' He said, 'Bring your camel.' So I brought my camel, and then he left. I drank (from the pond), and he sprinkled water on himself and performed ablution, and I performed ablution with him. Then he stood up to pray, and I stood to pray on his left. He took my hand and turned me to his right, and we prayed. It was not long before the people came."

[Machine] I said, "O Messenger of Allah" and Sufyan once said, "I asked the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , if there is a remedy we can use, and if there is a charm we can seek to protect ourselves, and if there is a preventive measure we can take, would it be going against the decree of Allah, the Blessed and Exalted?" He said, "Indeed, it is from the decree of Allah, the Blessed and Exalted."

[Machine] "He came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, 'O Messenger of Allah, do you know of a medication that we can use for treatment, a supplication that we can recite for seeking cure, and a protection we can seek to avoid harm? 6.54 [Machine] Qais bin Saad bin Obada, On the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to visit us in our house, and said: Peace and Allah's mercy be upon you! Sa'd returned the greeting in a lower tone. Qays said: I said: Do you not grant permission to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to enter? He said: Leave him, he will give us many greetings. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then said: Peace and Allah's mercy be upon you! Sa'd again responded in a lower tone. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ again said: Peace and Allah's mercy be upon you! So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went away. Sa'd went after him and said: Messenger of Allah! I heard your greetings and responded in a lower tone so that you might give us many greetings. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ returned with him. Sa'd then offered to prepare bath-water for him, and he took a bath. He then gave him a long wrapper dyed with saffron or wars and he wrapped himself in it. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then raised his hands and said: O Allah, bestow Thy blessings and mercy on the family of Sa'd ibn Ubadah! The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then shared their meals. When he intended to return, Sa'd brought near him an ass which was covered with a blanket. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ mounted it. Sa'd said: O Qays, accompany the Messenger of Allah. Qays said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me: Ride. But I refused. He again said: Either ride or go away. He said: So I went away. Hisham said: AbuMarwan (transmitted) from Muhammad ibn AbdurRahman ibn As'ad ibn Zurarah. Abu Dawud said: 'Umar b. 'Abd al-Wahid and Ibn Sama'ah transmitted it from al-Awzai' in mursal form (the ling of the Companion being missing), and they did not mention Qais b. Sa'd. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 5185)

[Machine] I witnessed the sermon of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in Mina, and in his sermon he said, "It is not permissible for a person to take anything from his brother's wealth except what brings satisfaction to his soul."
[Machine] He had a Jewish person who owed him four dirhams, so he went to him and said, "O Muhammad, I have four dirhams owed to me, and I am in need of them." He replied, "Give him his right." He said, "By the One who has sent you with the truth, I am unable to pay them." He repeated, "Give him his right." He said, "By the One who holds my soul in His hand, I am incapable of paying them. I informed him that you are sending us to Khaybar, so I hope that you will grant us something, and I will return and pay him." He replied, "Give him his right." It was known that when the Prophet ﷺ repeated a statement three times, he would not be contradicted. Ibn Abi Hadrad went out to the market with a turban on his head and a cloak wrapped around him. He took off the turban from his head and wore it, then he took off the cloak. He said, "Buy this cloak from me." The person bought it from him for four dirhams. An old woman passed by and said, "What is wrong, O companion of the Messenger of Allah?" He informed her, so she said, "Here, take this cloak, it is on loan to you."

He said, "Do you hear the call to prayer?" Ibn Umm Maktum replied, "Yes." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Then respond to it."

[Machine] On the day of Uhud, when the polytheists retreated, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Stand still so that I can praise my Lord." So they stood behind him in rows, and he said, "O Allah, all praise is due to You. O Allah, there is no restrainer for what You have expanded, nor an expander for what You have restrained. There is no guide for whom You have led astray, nor a misleader for whom You have guided. There is no giver for whom You have withheld, nor a withholder for whom You have given. There is no nearness to whom You have distanced, nor a distancer for whom You have drawn near. O Allah, bestow upon us abundantly from Your blessings, mercy, favor, and sustenance. O Allah, I ask You for everlasting bliss that does not change or disappear. O Allah, I ask You for the bliss of the Day of Resurrection and the security on the Day of Fear. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the evil of what You have given us, and from the evil of what You have withheld. O Allah, make faith beloved to us, and beautify it in our hearts. Make disbelief, transgression, and disobedience detestable to us, and make us among the righteous. O Allah, let us die as Muslims and grant us life as Muslims, and join us with the righteous, without disgrace or calamity. O Allah, fight the unbelievers who deny Your messengers and turn people away from Your path. Inflict upon them Your punishment and torment. O Allah, fight the unbelievers who were given the scripture, the deity of truth."

[Machine] I was one of seven with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . He commanded us to gather a dirham for each of us, so we bought a sacrificial animal for seven dirhams. We said, "O Messenger of Allah, it is too expensive for us!" The Prophet ﷺ said, "Indeed, the best sacrifice is the most expensive, fattest one."
