[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ commanded us to fast on Ashura before the fasting of Ramadan was prescribed. But when the fasting of Ramadan was prescribed, he did not command or forbid us from doing so, and we continued to fast on Ashura.
أَمَرَنَا النَّبِيُّ ﷺ أَنْ نَصُومَ عَاشُورَاءَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَنْزِلَ صِيَامُ رَمَضَانَ فَلَمَّا نَزَلَ صِيَامُ رَمَضَانَ لَمْ يَأْمُرْنَا وَلَمْ يَنْهَنَا وَنَحْنُ نَفْعَلُهُ
Qais bin Sa'ad said: “The Messenger of Allah ﷺ enjoined Sadaqatul-Fitr upon is before (the command of) Zakat was revealed. He neither ordered us (to pay) nor forbade us (from paying it), so we did it.”
أَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ بِصَدَقَةِ الْفِطْرِ قَبْلَ أَنْ تُنْزَلَ الزَّكَاةُ فَلَمَّا نَزَلَتِ الزَّكَاةُ لَمْ يَأْمُرْنَا وَلَمْ يَنْهَنَا وَنَحْنُ نَفْعَلُهُ
[Machine] "We were not commanded to fast on Ashura except before Ramadan was revealed, so when Ramadan was revealed we were not commanded or forbidden from it."
«مَا أُمِرْنَا بِصَوْمِ عَاشُورَاءَ إِلَّا قَبْلَ أَنْ يَنْزِلَ رَمَضَانُ فَلَمَّا نَزَلَ رَمَضَانُ لَمْ نُؤْمَرْ بِهِ وَلَمْ نُنْهَ عَنْهُ»
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered us to fast on the day of Ashura before the month of Ramadan began. However, when the month of Ramadan came, he did not command us or forbid us from fasting on that day, and we continued to observe it. He also instructed us to give Zakat al-Fitr, and when it became obligatory, he did not command us or forbid us from giving it, and we continued to give it.
أَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِصَوْمِ عَاشُورَاءَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَنْزِلَ شَهْرُ رَمَضَانَ فَلَمَّا نَزَلَ شَهْرُ رَمَضَانَ لَمْ يَأْمُرْنَا وَلَمْ يَنْهَنَا وَنَحْنُ نَفْعَلُهُ وَأَمَرَنَا بِزَكَاةِ الْفِطْرِ فَلَمَّا نَزَلَتِ الزَّكَاةُ لَمْ يَأْمُرْنَا وَلَمْ يَنْهَنَا وَنَحْنُ نَفْعَلُهُ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered us to fast on Ashura before Ramadan arrived, but when Ramadan arrived, he did not order us or forbid us.
«أَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِصِيَامِ عَاشُورَاءَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَنْزِلَ رَمَضَانُ فَلَمَّا نَزَلَ رَمَضَانُ لَمْ يَأْمُرْنَا وَلَمْ يَنْهَنَا»
"عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ عُبَادَةَ قَالَ: أَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِصَوْمِ عَاشُوَرَاءَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَنْزِلَ رَمَضَانُ، فَلَمَّا نَزَلَ رَمَضَانُ لَمْ يَأمُرْنَا وَلَمْ يَنْهَنا، وَنَحْنُ نَفْعَلُهُ".
"عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ قَالَ: كُنَّا نَصُومُ عَاشُورَاءَ، وَنُعْطِى زَكَاةَ الْفِطْرِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَنْزِلَ عَلَيْنَا صَوْمُ رَمَضَانَ وَالزَّكَاةُ، فَلَمَّا نَزَلَ لَمْ يَأمُرْ بِهِ وَلَمْ يَنْهَ عَنْهُ، وَنَحْنُ نَفْعَلُهُ".
"عَنْ عَمَّارِ بْنِ يَاسِرِ أُمِرْنَا بِصِيَامِ عَاشُورَاء قَبْلَ أَنْ يَنْزِلَ رَمَضَانُ، فَلَمَّا نَزَلَ رَمَضَانُ لَمْ نُؤْمَرْ بِهِ".
