[Machine] He said, "I saw Abu Lahab in 'Ukaz, following the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and he was saying, 'O people, indeed, this man has gone astray, so do not let him mislead you from your gods and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ .' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was fleeing from him, and he was on his trail, while we were following him. We were mere youths, and I remember him, encircled by two white men, the finest of them."
[Machine] I saw the Prophet ﷺ in the valley of Makhaz, inviting people to Islam, and behind him was a man of strong opposition, saying, "Let not this man divert you from your religion and the worship of your gods." I asked, "Who is this?" They said, "This is his uncle, Abu Lahab."
[Machine] I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ inviting people to Islam with a speech, and behind him was a man (Abu Lahab) saying to them, "Will this not overcome you? Will it not divert you from your religion and the religion of your fathers?" I said to my father while I was still a boy, "Who is this man walking behind him?" He said, "This is his uncle, Abu Lahab." The narrator says, "I think that there was a disagreement between Muhammad Ibn Amr and Rabee'ah Ibn Al-Munkadir."
[Machine] I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the market of Thul Majaz saying, "O people, say: There is no god but Allah, and you will succeed." He entered a narrow lane and people crowded around him. I did not see anyone speaking while he remained silent, repeating: "O people, say: There is no god but Allah, and you will succeed." Except for a man with a bright face and two deep dimples, who said, "This is a lying sorcerer!" So I asked, "Who is this?" They said, "Muhammad, son of Abdullah, reminding people about prophethood." I asked, "Who is the one he is being accused by?" They said, "His uncle, Abu Lahab." I said, "You were young back then." He replied, "No, by Allah, I was not young. I was very intelligent at that time."
[Machine] He heard Rabee'ah ibn 'Ibaad ad-Diiliyy saying: "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ circumambulating the people in Mina in their dwellings before he migrated to Al-Madinah. He said, 'O people, indeed Allah commands you to worship Him alone and not associate anything with Him.' Behind him was a man saying, 'This (man) commands you to abandon the religion of your fathers.' So I asked who this man was and it was said, 'This is Abu Lahab.'"
[Machine] I remember accompanying my father, a young man, as he looked upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . There was a man following the tribes, and behind him was a more handsome and bright man with long hair. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood in front of the tribe and said, "O son of so-and-so, I am the Messenger of Allah to you. I command you to worship Allah alone and not associate anything with Him, to believe in me and support me until I fulfill what Allah sent me with." After the Messenger of Allah ﷺ finished speaking, the man behind him said, "O son of so-and-so, he wants you to abandon worshiping Lat and Uzza and your allies from the tribe of Bani Malik bin Uqaysh, and to adopt the innovations and misguidance he brought. Do not listen to him or follow him." So I asked my father, "Who is this?" He said, "His uncle, Abu Lahab."
[Machine] I saw the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , passing by in the alleys of Dhu al-Majaz, followed by people who said, "This is Muhammad ibn Abdullah ibn Abdul-Muttalib." There was a man with a handsome face and radiant complexion, with two buns of hair, following him in the alleys of Dhu al-Majaz, claiming that he is a false sorcerer. So, I asked, "Who is this?" They said, "This is his uncle, Abu Lahab."
[Machine] "And by Allah, I remember when he (i.e. Prophet Muhammad) would go around the houses in Mina, and I was a young boy with my father. Behind him was a man of handsome face, with thick curly hair, wearing two green garments. Every time the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would stop at a group of people, he would say: 'I am the Messenger of Allah, commanding you to worship Him alone and not associate anything with Him in worship.' And the man behind him would say: 'Verily, he is calling you to abandon the religion of your forefathers, to abandon Al-Lat, Al-Uzza, and your allies from the Banu Malik bin Uqaysh, and what he has brought of innovation and misguidance.' So I asked my father, 'Who is this?' He said, 'This is his uncle, Abu Lahab, the slave of Al-Uzza, son of Abdul-Muttalib.'"
