"When Abu Talib was dying, the Prophet came to him and found Abu Jahl and 'Abdullah bin Abi Umayyah with him. He said: 'O uncle, say La ilaha illallah(there is none worthy of worship except Allah), a word with which I will defend you before Allah.' Abu Jahl and 'Abdullah bin Abi Umayyah said: 'O Abu Talib, are you turning away from the religion of 'Abdul-Muttalib.' Then the Prophet said: 'I will keep on asking for Allah's forgiveness for you unless I am forbidden to do so.' Then the following was revealed: It is not (proper) for the Prophet and those who believe to ask Allah's forgiveness for the idolaters. And the following was revealed: Verily, you (O Muhammad) guide not whom you like." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2035)

[Machine] He said to Ibn Umar, "Was the verse 'Verily, you cannot guide those whom you love' revealed about Abu Talib?" Ibn Umar replied, "Yes."

The people of the Scripture (Jews) used to recite the Torah in Hebrew and they used to explain it in Arabic to the Muslims. On that Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do not believe the people of the Scripture or disbelieve them, but say:-- "We believe in Allah and what is revealed to us." (2.136) (Using translation from Bukhārī 4485)
كَانَ أَهْلُ الْكِتَابِ يَقْرَءُونَ التَّوْرَاةَ بِالْعِبْرَانِيَّةِ فَيُفَسِّرُونَهَا بِالْعَرَبِيَّةِ لِأَهْلِ الْإِسْلَامِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَا تُصَدِّقُوا أَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ وَلَا تُكَذِّبُوهُمْ وَلَكِنْ قُولُوا {آمَنَّا بِاللهِ وَمَا أُنْزِلَ إِلَيْنَا وَمَا أُنْزِلَ إِلَيْكُمْ وَإِلَهُنَا وَإِلَهُكُمْ وَاحِدٌ وَنَحْنُ لَهُ مُسْلِمُونَ}

[Machine] I heard Abdullah saying, "The whipping, the obligation, the Romans, the smoke, and the moon have passed."
[Machine] In His saying, exalted be He, "{Alif-Lam-Mim. The Romans have been defeated}" [Surah Ar-Rum, verse 2], it is said that the Romans were defeated and that they also defeated [their opponents]. The pagans desired that the Persians would prevail over the Romans, while the Muslims desired that the Romans would prevail over the Persians because they were ahl al-kitab (People of the Book). They mentioned this to Abu Bakr, and Abu Bakr mentioned it to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "They will definitely prevail." Abu Bakr relayed this to them. They said, "Let there be a contract between us and you. If we prevail, we will have such and such, and if you prevail, you will have such and such." So, they agreed to a duration of five years.

When the Verse:-- 'Those who believe and mix not their belief with wrong.' was revealed, the Muslims felt it very hard on them and said, "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! Who amongst us does not do wrong to himself?" He replied, "The Verse does not mean this. But that (wrong) means to associate others in worship to Allah: Don't you listen to what Luqman said to his son when he was advising him," O my son! Join not others in worship with Allah. Verily joining others in worship with Allah is a great wrong indeed." (31.13) (Using translation from Bukhārī 3429)
when you hear the cocks crowing, ask Allah for some of His grace, for they have seen as angel; but when you hear an ass braying, seek refuge in Allah from the devil, for it has seen the devil. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 5102)

[Machine] That the Prophet ﷺ took my hand and said, "O Abu Hurairah, indeed Allah created the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them in six days, then He ascended the throne on the seventh day. He created the soil on Saturday, the mountains on Sunday, the trees on Monday, the different species on Tuesday, the light on Wednesday, the animals on Thursday, and Adam on Friday in the last hour of the day after Asr prayer. Allah made from Adam the pure and the impure."
“For the Subh prayer on Fridays, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to recite ‘Alif-Lam-Mim. The revelation...’ [32:1] and ‘Has there not been over man...’” [76:1] (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 821)
"I accompanied the Prophet ﷺ on a journey. One day I was near him while we were moving so I said: 'O Messenger of Allah! Inform me about an action by which I will be admitted into Paradise, and which will keep me far from the Fire.' He said: 'You have asked me about something great, but it is easy for whomever Allah makes it easy: Worship Allah and do not associate any partners with Him, establish the Salat, give the Zakat, fast Ramadan and perform Hajj to the HOuse.' Then he said: 'Shall I not guide you to the doors of good? Fasting is a shield, and charity extinguishes sins like water extinguishes fire - and a man's praying in depths of the night.'" He said: "Then he recited: 'Their sides forsake their beds to call upon their Lord.' Until he reached: 'What they used to do.' [32:16-17] Then he said: 'Shall I not inform you about the head of the entire matter, and its pillar, and its hump?' I said: 'Of course O Messenger of Allah! He said: 'The head of the matter is Islam, and its pillar is the Salat, and its hump is Jihad.' Then he said: 'Shall I not inform you about what governs all of that?' I said: 'Of course O Messenger of Allah!'" He ﷺ said: "So he grabbed his tongue. He said 'Restrain this.' I said: 'O Prophet of Allah! Will we be taken to account for what we say?' He said: 'May your mother grieve your loss O Mu'adh! Are the people tossed into the Fire upon their faces, or upon their noses, except because of what their tongues have wrought'" (Using translation from Tirmidhī 2616)

We used not to call Zaid bin Haritha the freed slave of Messenger of Allah ﷺ except Zaid bin Muhammad till the Qu'anic Verse was revealed: "Call them (adopted sons) by (the names of) their fathers. That is more than just in the Sight of Allah." (33.5) (Using translation from Bukhārī 4782)

My uncle and I have been named after him was not present with the Messenger of Allah (mav peace be upon him) on the Day of Badr. He felt distressed about it. He would say: I have missed the first battle fought by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and if God now gives me an opportunity to see a battlefield with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, God will see what I do therein. He was afraid to say more than this (lest he be unable to keep his word with God). He was present with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the Day of Uhud. He met Sa'd b. Mu'adh (who was retreating). Anas said to him: O Abu 'Amr, where (are you going)? Woe (to thee)! I find the smell of Paradise beside the Uhud mountain. (Reprimanding Sa'd in these words) he went forward and fought thein (the enemy) until he was killed. (The narrator says). More than eighty wounds inflicted with swords, spears and arrows were found on his body. His sister, my aunt, ar-Rubayyi', daughter of Nadr, said: I could not recognise my brother's body (it was so badly mutilated) except from his finger-tips. (It was on this occasion that) the Qur'anic verse:" Among the Believers are men who have been true to their covenant with God. Of them some have completed their vow (to the extreme), and some still wait: but they have never changed (their determination) in the least" (xxxiii. 23). The narrator said that the verse had been revealed about him (Anas b. Nadr) and his Companions. (Using translation from Muslim 1903)
[Machine] On the day of Uhud, when the Muslims were exposed, Allah said, "O Allah, I apologize to You for what they have done." By "they," he meant his companions, and by "they," he meant the polytheists. Sa'd fought him alone outside of Uhud. Sa'd said, "I couldn't do what he did." It was found that he had eighty wounds, including stab wounds with a spear, sword strikes, and arrow shots. We used to say about him and his companions, "Some of them fulfilled their vow, and some are still waiting, and they never changed." [Al-Ahzab 23]

[Machine] She said to the Prophet ﷺ , "O Prophet of Allah, why do men's names get mentioned in the Quran and women's names do not?" So Allah revealed, "Indeed, the Muslim men and Muslim women, the believing men and believing women..." [Al-Ahzab 35]

[Machine] I heard Umm Salamah, the Prophet's wife, saying, "I said to the Prophet, 'Why is it that we are not mentioned in the Quran as men are mentioned?' She said, 'One day, I did not hear his call at noon except that he was calling from the pulpit. She said, 'I was undoing my hair, so I gathered my hair and went to the room of my house and placed my ear against the door. Then, I heard him saying from the pulpit, 'O people, indeed Allah says in His Book: 'Indeed, the Muslim men and the Muslim women, the believing men and the believing women. [Al-Ahzab 35]' till the end of the verse 'Allah has prepared for them forgiveness and a great reward.' [Al-Ahzab 35].'

The Prophet ﷺ said: When a man himself wakes at night and wakens his wife and they pray two rak'ahs together, they are recorded among the men and women who make much mention of Allah. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1451)

[Machine] "And I was reclining, then I sat up and said, 'O Mother of the Believers, look at me and do not rush me. Do you see the saying of Allah, 'And he [Muhammad] is not at all a withholder of knowledge of the unseen' (Quran 81:24) and 'And he [Muhammad] certainly saw him [Gabriel] in another descent' (Quran 53:13)?' She said, 'Indeed, it was only Gabriel, upon him be peace, who saw him one time in his creation and form he was created upon, and he saw him another time when he descended from the sky to the earth, encompassing the size of his creation between the heavens and the earth.' She said, 'I am the first person who asked the Prophet ﷺ about this verse and he said: "It is Gabriel." And whoever claims to know what will happen tomorrow has certainly claimed a supreme knowledge that is greatest upon Allah, and Allah says, "Say, "None in the heavens and earth knows the unseen except Allah, and they do not perceive when they will be resurrected." (Quran 27:65).' And whoever claims that Muhammad concealed something of what Allah revealed to him has certainly claimed a supreme knowledge that is greatest upon Allah, and Allah says, 'O Messenger, transmit what has been revealed to you from your Lord, and if you do not, then you have not conveyed His message. And Allah will protect you from the people. Indeed, Allah does not guide the disbelieving people.' (Quran 5:67).' She said, 'If Muhammad ﷺ had concealed something of what was revealed to him, he would have concealed this verse: 'And [remember] when you said to the one on whom Allah bestowed favor and you bestowed favor, "Keep your wife and fear Allah," while you concealed within yourself that which Allah is to disclose. And you feared the people, while Allah has more right that you fear Him.' (Quran 33:37).'" [Sahih Muslim, Hadith 11345]

Zaid went and said: 'O Zainab, rejoice, for the Messenger of Allah has sent me to you to propose marriage on his behalf.' She said: 'I will not do anything until I consult my Lord.' [Machine] I heard Anas say that Zainab used to boast over the wives of the Prophet ﷺ , saying, "Allah married me to him from the Heavens," and this verse was revealed regarding her hijab. The Prophet ﷺ went out of the house while they were seated, then returned and found them still seated until this matter was visible in his face. So Allah revealed the verse, "O you who have believed, do not enter the houses of the Prophet except when you are permitted for a meal, without awaiting its readiness" [Al-Ahzab 53].

It was narrated that Sahl bin Sa'd said: "I was among the people when a woman said: 'I offer myself (in marriage) to you, O Messenger of Allah, see what you think of me.' A man stood up and said: 'Marry me to her.' He said: 'Go and find (something), even if it is an iron ring.' So he went, but he could not find anything, not even an iron ring. So the Messenger of Allah said: 'Do you have (memorized) any surahs of the Qur'an?' He said: 'Yes.' So he married him to her on the basis of what he knew of surahs of the Qur'an." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 3200)

The similitude of mine and that of the Apostles before me is that of a person who built a house quite imposing and beautiful, but for one brick in one of its corners. People would go round it, appreciating the building, but saying: Why has the brick not been fixed here? He said: I am that brick and I am the last of the Apostles. We were sitting in the company of Sa'id b. 'Ubida when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to us. Bashir b. S'ad said: Allah has commanded us to bless you. Messenger of Allah! But how should we bless you? He (the narrator) said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ kept quiet (and we were so much perturbed over his silence) that we wished we had not asked him. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then said: (For blessing me) say:" 0 Allah, bless Muhammad and the members of his household as Thou didst bless the mernbers of Ibrahim's household. Grant favours to Muhammad and the members of his household as Thou didst grant favours to the members of the household of Ibrahim in the world. Thou art indeed Praiseworthy and Glorious" ; and salutation as you know. (Using translation from Muslim 405)

[Machine] From the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, he said: "Musa was a shy and modest person, and nothing could be seen from his skin. But one day, some children of Israel accidentally saw Musa and said, 'What is this covering hiding? It must be due to something on his skin, either leprosy, a boil, or a disease.' So, Musa entered to wash himself and put his clothes on a rock. When he left, his clothes remained on the rock and he felt severe pain in his body. The children of Israel saw him and found him to be the best of people in appearance and free from the things they were saying. This is mentioned in the verse: 'O you who believe! Do not be like those who harmed Musa.' (33:69)" Isaq bin Ibrahim informed us, saying: Al-Nadr informed us from Awf, through this chain of narration, with a similar narration.

When Allah's Apostle ﷺ contracted marriage with Zainab (Allah be pleased with bet), Umm Sulaim sent him hats in a vessel of stone as a gift. Anas stated that Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him: Go and invite on my behalf all the Muslims whom you meet. So I invited on his behalf everyone whom I met. They entered (his house) and they ate and went out. And Messenger of Allah ﷺ had kept his hand on the food, and he invoked blessing on that, and said whatever Allah wished him to say, and none whom I met was left uninvited. They ate to their fill and went out, but a group among them remained there and was engaged in lengthy discussion. Allah's Apostle ﷺ felt shy of saying them anything. So he went out and left them in his house and Allah the Great and Majestic revealed this verse:" 0 you who believe, enter not the houses of the Prophet unless permission is given to you for a meal, not waiting for its cooking being finished." Qatada (instead of using the word Ghaira Nazirina) used the word Ghaira Mutahayyinina (i. e. not waiting for the time of the food). But when you are invited, enter..." up to this verse. This is purer for your hearts and their hearts. (Using translation from Muslim 1428h)
[Machine] I heard Anas ibn Malik say about this verse, "O you who have believed, do not enter the houses of the Prophet except when permission is given to you." (Surah Al-Ahzab, 33:53) Anas narrated that the Prophet ﷺ had built a house for some of his wives, and they made food and sent for some men to eat. After they had eaten, the Prophet ﷺ got up and left and went to the house of Aisha, and I followed him. He entered and found two men in her house. When he saw them, he turned back and did not speak to them. They stood up and left, and then the verse of the Hijab (veil) was revealed, "O you who have believed, do not enter the houses of the Prophet except when permission is given to you." (Surah Al-Ahzab, 33:53)
I said, "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! Good and bad persons enter upon you, so I suggest that you order the mothers of the Believers (i.e. your wives) to observe veils." Then Allah revealed the Verses of Al- Hijab. (Using translation from Bukhārī 4790)
[Machine] I used to eat with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ a type of food called "hayz" in a bowl. Then Umar passed by and the Prophet ﷺ invited him to eat. When Umar ate, his finger touched my finger and he said: "Tell me if I obeyed you, would you be able to protect me from what your eyes see?" Then the veil was revealed.
When Messenger of Allah ﷺ married Zainab bint Jahsh, he invited the people to a meal. They took the meal and remained sitting and talking. Then the Prophet (showed them) as if he is ready to get up, yet they did not get up. When he noticed that (there was no response to his movement), he got up, and the others too, got up except three persons who kept on sitting. The Prophet ﷺ came back in order to enter his house, but he went away again. Then they left, whereupon I set out and went to the Prophet ﷺ to tell him that they had departed, so he came and entered his house. I wanted to enter along with him, but he put a screen between me and him. Then Allah revealed: 'O you who believe! Do not enter the houses of the Prophet...' When the Verse:--'And warn your tribe of near-kindred, was revealed, the Prophet ﷺ ascended the Safa (mountain) and started calling, "O Bani Fihr! O Bani ʿAdi!" addressing various tribes of Quraish till they were assembled. Those who could not come themselves, sent their messengers to see what was there. Abu Lahab and other people from Quraish came and the Prophet ﷺ then said, "Suppose I told you that there is an (enemy) cavalry in the valley intending to attack you, would you believe me?" They said, "Yes, for we have not found you telling anything other than the truth." He then said, "I am a warner to you in face of a terrific punishment." Abu Lahab said (to the Prophet) "May your hands perish all this day. Is it for this purpose you have gathered us?" Then it was revealed: "Perish the hands of Abu Lahab (one of the Prophet's uncles), and perish he! His wealth and his children will not profit him...." (111.1-5) (Using translation from Bukhārī 4770)

When Messenger of Allah ﷺ fought the battle of Khaibar, or when Messenger of Allah ﷺ went towards it, (whenever) the people, (passed over a high place overlooking a valley, they raised their voices saying, "Allahu-Akbar! Allahu-Akbar! None has the right to be worshipped except Allah." On that Allah's Apostle said (to them), "Lower your voices, for you are not calling a deaf or an absent one, but you are calling a Hearer Who is near and is with you." I was behind the riding animal of Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he heard me saying. "There Is neither might, nor power but with Allah," On that he said to me, "O ʿAbdullah bin Qais!" I said, "Labbaik. O Messenger of Allah ﷺ!" He said, "Shall I tell you a sentence which is one of the treasures of Paradise" I said, "Yes, O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! Let my father and mother be sacrificed for your sake." He said, "It is: There is neither might nor power but with Allah." (Using translation from Bukhārī 4205)

[Machine] I was with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the mosque at sunset when he said, "Do you know where the sun sets?" I said, "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said, "It goes and prostrates beneath the Throne of its Lord, and seeks permission to rise again. It will be granted permission and soon it will seek permission, but it will not be granted. It will intercede and request, but when that happens, it will be said to it, 'Return to your place.' That is the meaning of the verse: 'And the sun runs [on course] toward its stopping point.' [Machine] He came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "O Muhammad, I have sworn by the number of my fingers that I will not follow you or your religion. So I ask you, what did Allah send you with?" The Prophet replied, "Islam is bearing witness that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, establishing prayer, giving Zakat. They are brethren to the Christians. Allah does not accept repentance from anyone who associates partners with Him after accepting Islam." He asked, "What are the rights of the wife upon one of us?" The Prophet said, "You should feed her when you eat, clothe her when you clothe yourself, do not hit her face or insult her, and do not abandon her except in the house." Then he pointed with his hand towards the Levant (Syria) and said, "There, there you will be gathered as riders and infantry, and on the Day of Resurrection, your faces will be on your mouths like camels, and you will be brought to an account before Allah. You will be the last of seventy nations, and you will be the most honorable among them in the sight of Allah. Indeed, the first thing that will be judged upon one of you is the taking of his right."

The Prophet ﷺ said, "Allah will gather the believers on the Day of Resurrection in the same way (as they are gathered in this life), and they will say, 'Let us ask someone to intercede for us with our Lord that He may relieve us from this place of ours.' Then they will go to Adam and say, 'O Adam! Don't you see the people (people's condition)? Allah created you with His Own Hands and ordered His angels to prostrate before you, and taught you the names of all the things. Please intercede for us with our Lord so that He may relieve us from this place of ours.' Adam will say, 'I am not fit for this undertaking' and mention to them the mistakes he had committed, and add, "But you d better go to Noah as he was the first Apostle sent by Allah to the people of the Earth.' They will go to Noah who will reply, 'I am not fit for this undertaking,' and mention the mistake which he made, and add, 'But you'd better go to Abraham, Khalil Ar-Rahman.' They will go to Abraham who will reply, 'I am not fit for this undertaking,' and mention to them the mistakes he made, and add, 'But you'd better go to Moses, a slave whom Allah gave the Torah and to whom He spoke directly' They will go to Moses who will reply, 'I am not fit for this undertaking,' and mention to them the mistakes he made, and add, 'You'd better go to Jesus, Allah's slave and His Apostle and His Word (Be: And it was) and a soul created by Him.' They will go to Jesus who will say, 'I am not fit for this undertaking, but you'd better go to Muhammad whose sins of the past and the future had been forgiven (by Allah).' So they will come to me and I will ask the permission of my Lord, and I will be permitted (to present myself) before Him. When I see my Lord, I will fall down in (prostration) before Him and He will leave me (in prostration) as long as He wishes, and then it will be said to me, 'O Muhammad! Raise your head and speak, for you will be listened to; and ask, for you will be granted (your request); and intercede, for your intercession will be accepted.' I will then raise my head and praise my Lord with certain praises which He has taught me, and then I will intercede. Allah will allow me to intercede (for a certain kind of people) and will fix a limit whom I will admit into Paradise. I will come back again, and when I see my Lord (again), I will fall down in prostration before Him, and He will leave me (in prostration) as long as He wishes, and then He will say, 'O Muhammad! Raise your head and speak, for you will be listened to; and ask, for you will be granted (your request); and intercede, for your intercession will be accepted.' I will then praise my Lord with certain praises which He has taught me, and then I will intercede. Allah will allow me to intercede (for a certain kind of people) and will fix a limit to whom I will admit into Paradise, I will return again, and when I see my Lord, I will fall down (in prostration) and He will leave me (in prostration) as long as He wishes, and then He will say, 'O Muhammad! Raise your head and speak, for you will be listened to, and ask, for you will be granted (your request); and intercede, for your intercession will be accepted.' I will then praise my Lord with certain praises which He has taught me, and then I will intercede. Allah will allow me to intercede (for a certain kind of people) and will fix a limit to whom I will admit into Paradise. I will come back and say, 'O my Lord! None remains in Hell (Fire) but those whom Qur'an has imprisoned therein and for whom eternity in Hell (Fire) has become inevitable.' " The Prophet ﷺ added, "There will come out of Hell (Fire) everyone who says: 'La ilaha illal-lah,' and has in his heart good equal to the weight of a barley grain. Then there will come out of Hell (Fire) everyone who says: ' La ilaha illal-lah,' and has in his heart good equal to the weight of a wheat grain. Then there will come out of Hell (Fire) everyone who says: 'La ilaha illal-lah,' and has in his heart good equal to the weight of an atom (or a smallest ant). (Using translation from Bukhārī 7410)

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out to us and said:'Will you not form rows as the angels form rows before their Lord? They said: 'How do the angels form rows before their lord? He said: 'They complete the first row and fill the gaps in the rows."' (Using translation from Nasāʾī 816)
