قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: {مَا قَطَعْتُمْ مِنْ لِينَةٍ} [الحشر: 5]

nasai-kubra:11509Qutaybah b. Saʿīd > al-Layth > Nāfiʿ > Ibn ʿUmar

'Messenger of Allah ﷺ burnt and cut down the palm trees of Bani An-Nadir which were at Al-Buwair (a place near Medina). There upon Allah revealed: 'What you (O Muslims) cut down of the palm trees (of the enemy) or you left them standing on their stems, it was by the leave of Allah, so that He might cover with shame the rebellious.' (59.5) (Using translation from Bukhārī 4884)

nasai-kubra:11510al-Ḥasan b. Muḥammad > ʿAffān > Ḥafṣ b. Ghiyāth > Ḥabīb b. Abū ʿAmrah > Saʿīd b. Jubayr

[Machine] "They brought them down from their fortresses and ordered the cutting of the palm trees, so fear entered their hearts. The Muslims said, 'We have cut some of them and left some, so let us ask the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , do we get a reward for what we have cut and do we bear any sin for what we have left?' So Allah revealed, 'Whatever you have cut of [their] palm trees or left standing on their roots' (Surah Al-Hashr, Verse 5). Ka'ab Al-Ahbar said: 'It was 'Affaan who narrated this hadith to us from Abdul Wahid from Habib, then he went back and narrated to us from Hafs."

[Machine] I will inform you about this matter. Indeed, Allah, the Most High, has granted His Messenger, ﷺ , something that He has not given to anyone other than him. He said, "And what Allah restored to His Messenger from the people of the towns - it is for Allah and for the Messenger and for [his] near relatives and orphans and the [stranded] traveler" [Al-Hashr: 6]. So, this is specifically for the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ . By Allah, he did not choose it for himself or prefer it over you. And indeed, he distributed it among you until only this amount remained. So, the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , spent from it on his family according to their needs and then he made what remained in the wealth of Allah, the Exalted, concise.

The wealth of Banu an-Nadeer was among the fai' that Allah bestowed upon His Messenger ﷺ, for which the Muslims made no expedition with either cavalry or camelry (cf. al-Hashr 59:6). It was only for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he used to spend from it on his family's annual expenses-and on one occasion he said: his annual food supply -and what was left he spent on horses and weapons in preparation for jihad for the sake of Allah, may He be glorified and exalted, (Using translation from Aḥmad 171)

ʿAbdullah (bin Masud) said. "Allah curses those ladies who practice tattooing and those who get themselves tattooed, and those ladies who remove the hair from their faces and those who make artificial spaces between their teeth in order to look more beautiful whereby they change Allah's creation." His saying reached a lady from Bani Asd called Um Yaqub who came (to ʿAbdullah) and said, "I have come to know that you have cursed such-and-such (ladies)?" He replied, "Why should I not curse these whom Messenger of Allah ﷺ has cursed and who are (cursed) in Allah's Book!" Um Yaqub said, "I have read the whole Qur'an, but I did not find in it what you say." He said, "Verily, if you have read it (i.e. the Qur'an), you have found it. Didn't you read: 'And whatsoever the Apostle gives you take it and whatsoever he forbids you, you abstain (from it). (59.7) She replied, "Yes, I did," He said, "Verily, Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade such things." "She said, "But I see your wife doing these things?" He said, "Go and watch her." She went and watched her but could not see anything in support of her statement. On that he said, "If my wife was as you thought, I would not keep her in my company." [Machine] I recommend the Caliph who comes after me to be mindful of Allah, and I advise him regarding the early immigrants who were expelled from their homes, that he acknowledges their migration and recognizes their virtues. And I advise him regarding the Helpers, who took in the immigrants and embraced the faith before them, that he recognizes their virtues and shows gratitude towards those who do good to them, and overlooks the wrongs committed by them. And I advise him regarding the people who have a covenant with Muhammad to fulfill their obligations towards them, and not to burden them beyond their capabilities, and to fight their enemies from behind them.

when we (prayed and) sat up during prayer along the Messenger of Allah (may peach be upon him), we said: “Peace be to Allah before it is supplicated for His servants; peace be to so and so. “The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Do not say “Peace be to Allah ,”for Allah Himself is peace. When one of you sits(during the prayer), he should say: The adoration of the tongue are due to Allah, and acts of worship and all good things. Peace be upon you, O Prophet, and Allah’s mercy and His blessings. Peace be upon us and upon Allah’s upright servants. When you say that, it reaches every upright servant in heavens and earth or between heavens and earth. I testify that there is no god but Allah, and I testify that Muhammad is His servant and apostle. Then he may choose any supplication which pleases him and offer it.
