[Machine] I used to eat with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ a type of food called "hayz" in a bowl. Then Umar passed by and the Prophet ﷺ invited him to eat. When Umar ate, his finger touched my finger and he said: "Tell me if I obeyed you, would you be able to protect me from what your eyes see?" Then the veil was revealed.  

الكبرى للنسائي:١١٣٥٥أَخْبَرَنِي زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ يَحْيَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ مِسْعَرٍ عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

كُنْتُ آكُلُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ حَيْسًا فِي قَعْبٍ فَمَرَّ عُمَرُ فَدَعَاهُ فَأَكَلَ فَأَصَابَتْ إِصْبُعُهُ إِصْبُعِي فَقَالَ حَسِّ لَوْ أُطَاعُ فِيَكُنَّ مَا رَأَتْكُنَّ عَيْنٌ فَنَزَلَ الْحِجَابُ
