Khalid bin Al-Walid said that he entered upon Maimunah bint Al-Harith, who was his maternal aunt, with the Messenger of Allah, and some meat of a mastigure was offered to the Messenger of Allah The Messenger of Allah would not eat anything until he knew what it was. One of the women said: "Why don't you tell the Messenger of Allah what he is eating?" So she told him that it was the meat of a mastigure, and he stopped eating. Khalid said: "I asked the Messenger of Allah 'Is it Haram?' He said: "No but it is a food that is no9t known in the land of my people, and I find it distasteful."" Khalid said: " I pulled it over toward myself and ate it, and the Messenger of Allah was watching me." And Ibn Al-Asamm narrated it from Maimunah, and he was in her apartment. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 4317)

It is a lizard. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ raised his hand. I (Khalid) asked: Is it forbidden, Messenger of Allah? He replied, No, but it is not found in the land of my people, so I find it distasteful. Khalid said: I then pulled it and ate it while The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was seeing. [Machine] There was a conversation between me and Ammar bin Yasser, and I spoke harshly to him. So Ammar went to complain about me to the Prophet ﷺ , and then Khalid also came to complain about him to the Prophet ﷺ . The Prophet ﷺ remained silent and did not speak. Then Ammar cried and said, "O Messenger of Allah, do you not see him?" So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ raised his head and said, "Whoever opposes Ammar, Allah will oppose him, and whoever hates Ammar, Allah will hate him." Khalid said, "So I left, and nothing was more beloved to me than Ammar's approval. I met him and he was pleased." Abdullah (bin Masud) said, "I heard this narration from Abi Amratain, and it is more eloquent than that of Al-Awam."

Messenger of Allah, it is a lizard. Messenger of Allah ﷺ withdrew his hand, whereupon Khalid b. Walid said: Messenger of Allah, is a lizard forbidden? There opon he said: No, but it is not found in the land of my people, and I feel that I have no liking for it. Khalid said: I then chewed and ate it, and Messenger of Allah ﷺ was looking at me and he did not forbid (me to eat it). (Using translation from Muslim 1946a)

[Machine] "We accompanied the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the Battle of Khaybar, and people rushed to the Jewish fortresses. He commanded me to call for congregational prayer and said that no one enters Paradise except a Muslim. Then he said, 'O people, you have hurried to the Jewish fortresses. Do not take the wealth of the treaty people except with its due right. And it is forbidden for you to eat meat of domestic donkeys, horses, and their offspring, and any animal with fangs, and any bird with talons."

[Machine] I fought alongside the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the Battle of Khaybar. The people rushed towards the Jewish fortresses, and I heard someone saying, "O Khalid, announce to the people that prayer is a collective duty, and that only Muslims will enter Paradise." So I did as he instructed and stood up among the people. I said, "O people, what is the matter with you? Why did you rush towards the Jewish fortresses so quickly? Beware that the wealth of the treaty-holders is not permissible except what is rightfully due, and it is forbidden for you to take the camels, livestock, horses, mares, and any animals with fangs from the lions and any birds with talons."

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Indeed, the severest punishment on the Day of Resurrection is for the people who inflict the severest punishment on others in this world."
[Machine] Amir al-Mu'minin wrote to me when he conquered Sham, sending me perfumes, honey, and a silk garment. He expressed his concerns about starting a campaign to India, and mentioned that India was within us during that time. Basra was his reason for doing so. I expressed my objection to it. Then, a man stood up and said to me, "O Abu Sulayman, fear Allah, for the trials have appeared." He said, "And the son of al-Khattab is alive, the trials will only come after him, and people will have two options, either they will be like Biliyan or they will be in a place like Biliyan." The man looked around and wondered if he could find a place where he would not be affected by the trials and evils, but he could not find it. He said, "Those are the days that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ mentioned, the days of turmoil. We seek refuge in Allah from those days, may we not be overtaken by them."

[Machine] There was some discussion between Ammar and Khalid ibn al-Walid. Ammar complained about it to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, who said, "Whoever reviles Ammar, Allah will revile him. Whoever hates him, Allah will hate him. And whoever insults him, Allah will insult him." Salamah or someone similar said this.

[Machine] About a man from Abyssinia who used to serve the Prophet ﷺ , he said: We were with him on a journey and he would walk fast when he wanted to leave. He did this because of the scarcity of provisions. One of the people said to him, "O Messenger of Allah, the people have left you behind. So he stopped and the people stopped with him until they caught up with him. Then he said to them, "Do you have any provisions left to cook?" or a person said to him, "We have descended and they have descended." So he said, "Who will take care of us tonight?" So I said, "May Allah make me a ransom for you, so he gave me the lead of his camel." He said, "Here, you can have this." So I took the lead of the camel of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and the lead of my own camel and I let them wander while I watched them until I fell asleep and did not feel anything until I felt the heat of the sun on my face. So I woke up and looked to the right and left and found myself not far from the camels. So I took the lead of the camel of the Prophet ﷺ and the lead of my own camel and went to the nearest people. I woke them up and asked them, "Did you pray?" They said, "No." So they woke up the people one after another until the Prophet ﷺ woke up. He said, "O Bilal, is there any water in the container?" referring to the water for ablution. He said, "Yes, may Allah make me a ransom for you." So he brought him ablution water and he performed ablution without using any soil. Then he ordered Bilal to give the call to prayer, and then the Prophet ﷺ got up and prayed the two Rak'ahs before Dawn and he was not in haste. Then he ordered him and he established the prayer and he prayed and he was not in haste. So someone said to him, "O Prophet of Allah, we have delayed." He said, "No, Allah has taken our souls and returned them to us, and we have already prayed."

I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: you will make a secure peace with the Byzantines, then you and they will fight an enemy behind you, and you will be victorious, take booty, and be safe. You will then return and alight in a meadow with mounds and one of the Christians will raise the cross and say: The cross has conquered. One of the Muslims will become angry and smash it, and the Byzantines will act treacherously and prepare for the battle. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4292)

Then you will submit and plunder their land. Afterwards, you will descend upon a mountain full of tuf (a kind of gold), and a man from the Romans will rise and raise the cross saying: 'Indeed, the cross has triumphed!' A Muslim man will then rise and kill him. At that time, the Romans will betray you, and battles will occur. They will come to you in eighty groups, where each group consists of ten thousand people."

What makes you sit here? They said: We are sitting here in order to remember Allah. He said: I adjure you by Allah (to tell me whether you are sitting here for this very purpose)? They said: By Allah, we are sitting here for this very purpose. Thereupon, he said: I have not demanded you to take an oath, because of any allegation against you and none of my rank in the eye of Messenger of Allah ﷺ is the narrator of so few ahadith as I am. The fact is that Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out to the circle of his Companions and said: What makes you sit? They said: We are sitting here in order to remember Allah and to praise Him for He guided us to the path of Islam and He conferred favours upon us. Thereupon he adjured by Allah and asked if that only was the purpose of their sitting there. They said: By Allah, we are not sitting here but for this very purpose, whereupon he (the Messenger) said: I am not asking you to take an oath because of any allegation against you but for the fact that Gabriel came to me and he informed me that Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, was talking to the angels about your magnificence. Uthman, when he completed the prayer, used to pray Dhuhr, Asr (afternoon prayer), and Isha (evening prayer) in Mecca, four units each. But when he went out to Mina and Arafat, he would shorten the prayer. When he finished the Hajj and stayed in Mina, he would complete the prayer until he left Mecca. When Muawiyah prayed Dhuhr, two units of prayer with us, Marwan bin Al-Hakam and Amr bin Uthman came to him and said, 'No one has criticized your cousin with something worse than what you have criticized him with.' Muawiyah asked, 'What is that?' They said, 'Did you not know that he used to pray the complete prayer in Mecca?' Muawiyah replied, 'Woe to you, was it not what I did? I prayed them with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , with Abu Bakr and Umar.' They said, 'Indeed, your cousin used to complete them and your opposing him in this is a fault.' Muawiyah then went out and prayed Asr, four units of prayer, with us."

[Machine] Muawiyah took possession of the two southern corners (of the Kaaba) which were handed over to the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ . Ibn Abbas said, "There is nothing abandoned of its pillars." Hajjaj said, "Shu'bah narrated that people differ in understanding this hadith, and they say that Muawiyah is the one who said, 'There is nothing abandoned of its pillars,' but in fact he memorized it from Qatadah like this."

The Prophet ﷺ said: If they (the people) drink wine, flog them, again if they drink it, flog them. Again if they drink it, kill them. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4482)

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say about these occasions, "O Allah, there is no preventer for what You have given, and no giver for what You have prevented. Whomsoever Allah intends good for, He grants him understanding of the religion."
"I heard Mu'awiyah bin Abu Sufyan say that Messenger of Allah said: "The Mu'adh-dhin will have the longest necks of all people on the Day of Resurrection." (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 725)
