[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say about these occasions, "O Allah, there is no preventer for what You have given, and no giver for what You have prevented. Whomsoever Allah intends good for, He grants him understanding of the religion."
سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ عَلَى هَذِهِ الْأَعْوَادِ اللهُمَّ لَا مَانِعَ لِمَا أَعْطَيْتَ وَلَا مُعْطِيَ لِمَا مَنَعْتَ مَنْ يُرِدِ اللهُ بِهِ خَيْرًا يُفَقِّهْهُّ فِي الدِّينِ
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If Allah wants good for someone, He afflicts him with trials."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ: «مَنْ يُرِدِ اللَّهُ بِهِ خَيْرًا يُصِبْ مِنْهُ».
(the freed slave of Al-Mughira bin Shuʿba) Al-Mughira wrote to Muawiya bin Abu Sufyan that Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to say at the end of every prayer after the Taslim, "La ilaha illa-l-lahu wahdahu la sharika lahu; lahu-l-mulk wa lahu-l-hamd, wahuwa 'ala kulli shai'n qadir. Allahumma la mani'a Lima a taita, wa la mu'ta Lima mana'ta, wa la yanfa'u dhal-jaddu minkal-jadd.
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَقُولُ فِي دُبُرِ كُلِّ صَلاَةٍ إِذَا سَلَّمَ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَهُ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهْوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ اللَّهُمَّ لاَ مَانِعَ لِمَا أَعْطَيْتَ وَلاَ مُعْطِيَ لِمَا مَنَعْتَ وَلاَ يَنْفَعُ ذَا الْجَدِّ مِنْكَ الْجَدُّ وَقَالَ شُعْبَةُ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ الْمُسَيَّبَ
I heard Muawiya bin Abi Sufyan delivering a sermon. He said, "I heard the Prophet ﷺ saying, "If Allah wants to do a favor to somebody, He bestows on him, the gift of understanding the Qur'an and Sunna. I am but a distributor, and Allah is the Giver. The state of this nation will remain good till the Hour is established, or till Allah's Order comes."
سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَنْ يُرِدِ اللَّهُ بِهِ خَيْرًا يُفَقِّهْهُ فِي الدِّينِ وَإِنَّمَا أَنَا قَاسِمٌ وَيُعْطِي اللَّهُ وَلَنْ يَزَالَ أَمْرُ هَذِهِ الأُمَّةِ مُسْتَقِيمًا حَتَّى تَقُومَ السَّاعَةُ أَوْ حَتَّى يَأْتِيَ أَمْرُ اللَّهِ
When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ raised his head after bowing, he said: Allah! our Lord, to Thee be the praise that would fill the heavens and the earth and that which is between them, and that which will please Thee besides (them). Worthy art Thou of all praise and glory. No one can withhold what Thou givest, or give what Thou withholdest. And the greatness O! the great availeth not against Thee.
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ قَالَ اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّنَا لَكَ الْحَمْدُ مِلْءَ السَّمَوَاتِ وَمِلْءَ الأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا وَمِلْءَ مَا شِئْتَ مِنْ شَىْءٍ بَعْدُ أَهْلَ الثَّنَاءِ وَالْمَجْدِ لاَ مَانِعَ لِمَا أَعْطَيْتَ وَلاَ مُعْطِيَ لِمَا مَنَعْتَ وَلاَ يَنْفَعُ ذَا الْجَدِّ مِنْكَ الْجَدُّ
When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ finished the prayer and pronounced salutation he uttered (this supplication):" There is no god but Allah. He is alone, Who has no partner. To Him belongs the sovereignty and to Him praise is due and He is Potent over every. thing. O Allah! no one can withhold what Thou givest, or give what Thou withholdest, and the riches cannot avail a wealthy person with Thee."
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا فَرَغَ مِنَ الصَّلاَةِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَهُ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ اللَّهُمَّ لاَ مَانِعَ لِمَا أَعْطَيْتَ وَلاَ مُعْطِيَ لِمَا مَنَعْتَ وَلاَ يَنْفَعُ ذَا الْجَدِّ مِنْكَ الْجَدُّ
I heard Mu'awiya b. Abu Sufyan saying in an address that he had heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: He to whom Allah intends to do good, He gives him insight into religion. And I am only the distributor while Allah is the Bestower.
سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَنْ يُرِدِ اللَّهُ بِهِ خَيْرًا يُفَقِّهْهُ فِي الدِّينِ وَإِنَّمَا أَنَا قَاسِمٌ وَيُعْطِي اللَّهُ
Muawiyah wrote to Al-Mughirah bin Shu'bah saying: "Tell me of something that you heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ." He said: "When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ finished praying, he would say: La Ilaha Illallah wahdahu la sharika lah, lahul-mulk wa lahul-hamd wa huwa 'ala kulli shay'in qadir. Allahumma la mani' lima a'taita wa la mu'tia lima mana'ta wa la yanfa'u dhal-jaddi minka al-jadd. (There is none worthy of worship except Allah ﷺ alone with no partner or associate. He is the Dominion and to Him be all praise, and He is able to do all things. O Allah, one can withhold what You have given and none can give what You have withheld, and no wealth or fortune can benefit anyone for from You comes all wealth and fortune.)'"

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'When Allah wills good for a person, He causes him to understand the religion.'"
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَنْ يُرِدِ اللَّهُ بِهِ خَيْرًا يُفَقِّهْهُ فِي الدِّينِ
"I heard Mu'awiyah bin Abu Sufyan narrating that the Messenger of Allah said: "Goodness is a (natural) habit while evil is a stubbornness (constant prodding from Satan). When Allah wills good for a person, He causes him to understand the religion.'"
عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ الْخَيْرُ عَادَةٌ وَالشَّرُّ لَجَاجَةٌ وَمَنْ يُرِدِ اللَّهُ بِهِ خَيْرًا يُفَقِّهْهُ فِي الدِّينِ
I heard Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "If Allah wants to do good to a person, He makes him comprehend the religion. I am just a distributor, but the grant is from Allah. (And remember) that this nation (true Muslims) will keep on following Allah's teachings strictly and they will not be harmed by any one going on a different path till Allah's order (Day of Judgment) is established." Athlath-thana'i wal-majdi khairu ma qalal-'abdu wa kulluna laka 'abdun la mani'a lima a'taita wa la yanfa'u dhal-jaddi minkal-jadd (Allah hears the one who praises Him; Our Lord, to You be the Praise, filling the heavens, filling the Earth, and filling whatever else You will, Lord of Glory and Majesty, the truest thing a slave had said, and we are all slaves to You. None can withhold what You grant, nor can the possession of an owner benefit him before You.)" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1068)

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَنْ تَرَكَ دِينَارًافَهُوَ كَيَّةٌ
[AI] Muawiyah on the minbar: O Allah, there is no one who can prevent what You give, and no one who can give what You prevent. And the wisdom of this matter is not of any benefit if it does not come from You. Whoever You want to bestow good upon, You make them understand the religion. I heard these words from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on this minbar.
مُعَاوِيَةُ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ اللهُمَّ لَا مَانِعَ لِمَا أَعْطَيْتَ وَلَا مُعْطِيَ لِمَا مَنَعْتَ وَلَا يَنْفَعُ ذَا الْجَدِّ مِنْكَ الْجَدُّ مَنْ يُرِدِ اللهُ بِهِ خَيْرًا يُفَقِّهُّ فِي الدِّينِ سَمِعْتُ هَؤُلَاءِ الْكَلِمَاتِ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَى هَذَا الْمِنْبَرِ
[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say about these occasions, "O Allah, there is no one who can withhold what You give, nor is there anyone who can give what You withhold. And no one can benefit from the seriousness of their own efforts except by Your seriousness. Whoever Allah intends good for, He grants understanding of the religion."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِذَا انْصَرَفَ مِنَ الصَّلَاةِ اللهُمَّ لَا مَانِعَ لِمَا أَعْطَيْتَ وَلَا مُعْطِيَ لِمَا مَنَعْتَ وَلَا يَنْفَعُ ذَا الْجَدِّ مِنْكَ الْجَدُّ
[AI] I heard Mu'awiyah deliver a sermon on this pulpit, saying, "Learn that there is no obstacle to what Allah gives, no giver of what Allah withholds, and the one who seeks good through Allah will be granted understanding in religion." سَمِعْتُ مُعَاوِيَةَ يَخْطُبُ عَلَى هَذَا الْمِنْبَرِ يَقُولُ تَعَلَّمُنَّ أَنَّهُ لَا مَانِعَ لِمَا أَعْطَى وَلَا مُعْطِيَ لِمَا مَنَعَ اللهُ وَلَا يَنْفَعُ ذَا الْجَدِّ مِنْهُ الْجَدُّ مَنْ يُرِدِ اللهُ بِهِ خَيْرًا يُفَقِّهْهُ فِي الدِّينِ سَمِعْتُ هَذِهِ الْأَحْرُفَ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَى هَذِهِ الْأَعْوَادِ

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "The giving hand is better than the receiving hand."
سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ الْيَدُ الْمُعْطِيَةُ خَيْرٌ مِنَ الْيَدِ السُّفْلَى

أَنِ اكْتُبْ إِلَيَّ بِشَيْءٍ سَمِعْتَهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ كَانَ إِذَا صَلَّى فَفَرَغَ قَالَ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ قَالَ وَأَظُنُّهُ قَالَ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ اللهُمَّ لَا مَانِعَ لِمَا أَعْطَيْتَ وَلَا مُعْطِيَ لِمَا مَنَعْتَ وَلَا يَنْفَعُ ذَا الْجَدِّ مِنْكَ الْجَدُّ
"Al-Mughirah bin Shu'bah wrote to Mu'awiyah (Saying) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to say following every prayer, after the taslim: 'La Ilaha Illallah wahdahu la sharika lah, lahul-mulk wa lahul-hamd wa huwa 'ala kulli shay'in qadir. Allahumma la mani' lima a'taita wa la mu'tia lima mana'ta wa la yanfa'u dhal-jaddi minka al-jadd. (There is none worthy of worship except Allah ﷺ alone with no partner or associate. He is the Dominion and to Him be all praise, and He is able to do all things. O Allah, one can withhold what You have given and none can give what You have withheld, and no wealth or fortune can benefit anyone for from You comes all wealth and fortune.)' Yahya related to me from Malik from Yazid ibn Ziyad that Muhammad ibn Kab al-Quradhi said, ''Muawiya ibn Abi Sufyan said from the mimbar, 'O people! Nothing keeps away what Allah gives and nothing gives what Allah keeps away. The earnestness of the earnest one does not profit him. When Allah desires good for him, he gives him understanding in the deen.' Then Muawiya said, 'I heard these words from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on these blocks of wood.' "
قَالَ قَالَ مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ وَهُوَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّهُ لاَ مَانِعَ لِمَا أَعْطَى اللَّهُ وَلاَ مُعْطِيَ لِمَا مَنَعَ اللَّهُ وَلاَ يَنْفَعُ ذَا الْجَدِّ مِنْهُ الْجَدُّ مَنْ يُرِدِ اللَّهُ بِهِ خَيْرًا يُفَقِّهْهُ فِي الدِّينِ ثُمَّ قَالَ مُعَاوِيَةُ سَمِعْتُ هَؤُلاَءِ الْكَلِمَاتِ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَلَى هَذِهِ الأَعْوَادِ
I heard Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "If Allah wants to do good to a person, He makes him comprehend the religion. I am just a distributor, but the grant is from Allah. (And remember) that this nation (true Muslims) will keep on following Allah's teachings strictly and they will not be harmed by any one going on a different path till Allah's order (Day of Judgment) is established." سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَنْ يُرِدِ اللَّهُ بِهِ خَيْرًا يُفَقِّهْهُ فِي الدِّينِ»
"I heard Mu'awiyah bin Abu Sufyan narrating that the Messenger of Allah said: "Goodness is a (natural) habit while evil is a stubbornness (constant prodding from Satan). When Allah wills good for a person, He causes him to understand the religion.'" (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 221)
عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «الْخَيْرُ عَادَةٌ وَالشَّرُّ لَجَاجَةٌ مَنْ يُرِدِ اللَّهُ بِهِ خَيْرًا يُفَقِّهْهُ فِي الدِّينِ»
When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “ Allah listens to him who praises Him,” he also said: O Allah, our Lord, to thee be the praise in all heavens. Mu’ammil said( in his version); “ In all the heavens, and in all the earth, and in all that it pleases Thee to create afterwards. O thou Who art worthy of praise and glory, most worthy of what a servant says, and we are all thy servants, no one can withhold what thou givest or give what Thou withholdest. “The narrators then were agreed on the words: “And riches cannot avail a wealthy person with Thee.” (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 847)

"Mu'awiyah wrote to al-Mughirah b. Shu'bah: 'What would the the Messenger of Allah ﷺ recite when he gave Taslim (salutation) in the prayer ?' Al-Mughirah dictated and wrote to Mu'awiyah: 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to say (at the end of the prayer after taslim): 'There is no God but Allah, Alone, Who has no partner, to Him belongs the dominion, to Him praise is due, and He is Omnipotent. O Allah no one cane withhold what You give and give what You withhold, and none benefits the fortunate person, for from You is the fortune. '" (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1505)
كَتَبَ مُعَاوِيَةُ إِلَى الْمُغِيرَةِ أَيُّ شَيْءٍ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِذَا انْصَرَفَ مِنَ الصَّلَاةِ؟ قَالَ كَانَ يَقُولُ فِي دُبُرِ كُلِّ صَلَاتِهِ «لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ اللَّهُمَّ لَا مَانِعَ لِمَا أَعْطَيْتَ وَلَا مُعْطِي لِمَا مَنَعْتَ وَلَا يَنْفَعُ ذَا الْجَدِّ مِنْكَ الْجَدُّ»
