who was born during the lifetime of the Prophet ﷺ that his mother, Zainab bint Humaid had taken him to Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! Take his Pledge of allegiance (for Islam)." The Prophet ﷺ said, "He (ʿAbdullah bin Hisham) is a little child," and passed his hand over his head and invoked Allah for him. ʿAbdullah bin Hisham used to slaughter one sheep as a sacrifice on behalf of all of his family. عَنْ جَدِّهِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ هِشَامٍ وَكَانَ قَدْ أَدْرَكَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَذَهَبَتْ بِهِ أُمُّهُ زَيْنَبُ ابْنَةُ حُمَيْدٍ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ بَايِعْهُ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ هُوَ صَغِيرٌ فَمَسَحَ رَأْسَهُ وَدَعَا لَهُ وَكَانَ يُضَحِّي بِالشَّاةِ الْوَاحِدَةِ عَنْ جَمِيعِ أَهْلِهِ  

We were with the Prophet ﷺ while he was holding ʿUmar bin Al-Khattab by the hand. (Using translation from Bukhārī 3694)  

كُنَّا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَهُوَ آخِذٌ بِيَدِ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ فَقَالَ وَاللهِ لَأَنْتَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ إِلَّا نَفْسِي فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ لَا يُؤْمِنُ أَحَدُكُمْ حَتَّى أَكُونَ أَحَبَّ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ نَفْسِهِ فَقَالَ عُمَرُ فَلَأَنْتَ الْآنَ وَاللهِ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنْ نَفْسِي فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الْآنَ يَا عُمَرُ
