٥۔ كِتَابُ الصِّيَامِ ص ١٥
[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw a man performing cupping while he was fasting, so he said, "The one who performs cupping and the one who is being cupped have broken their fast."
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ رَأَى رَجُلًا يَحْتَجِمُ وَهُوَ صَائِمٌ فَقَالَ «أَفْطَرَ الْحَاجِمُ وَالْمَحْجُومُ»
[Machine] He said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed by me while I was in ihtijam (ritual impurity) on the eighteenth of Ramadan, and he said, 'The one who is in ihtijam and the one who has been treated for mihjaam (cupping) should break their fast.'" Abu Abdur-Rahman Ata' bin As-Sa'ib said, "He (the narrator) had become confused, and we do not know of anyone who narrated this hadith from him except for these two, and they differed in their understanding of it. And Allah knows best. Abu Huraira narrated this hadith from Al-Hasan, and there was disagreement about it among them."
أَنَّهُ قَالَ مَرَّ عَلَيَّ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَأنا أَحْتَجِمُ فِي ثَمَانَ عَشْرَةَ مِنْ رَمَضَانَ فَقَالَ «أَفْطَرَ الْحَاجِمُ وَالْمَحْجُومُ» قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَطَاءُ بْنُ السَّائِبِ كَانَ قَدِ اخْتَلَطَ وَلَا نَعْلَمُ أَنَّ أَحَدًا رَوَى هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ عَنْهُ غَيْرُ هَذَيْنِ عَلَى اخْتِلَافِهِمَا عَلَيْهِ فِيهِ وَاللهُ أَعْلَمُ رَوَى هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ أَبُو حَرَّةَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ وَاخْتُلِفَ عَلَيْهِ فِيهِ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The one who plucks and the one who is plucked both break the fast." I asked, "Who is this referring to?" He said, "It is referring to more than one of the companions of the Prophet ﷺ , narrated from the Prophet ﷺ by Bashir bin Al-Sariyy and Abu Qatan."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَفْطَرَ الْحَاجِمُ وَالْمَحْجُومُ» قُلْتُ عَمَّنْ؟ قَالَ عَنْ غَيْرِ وَاحِدٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَقَفَهُ بِشْرُ بْنُ السَّرِيِّ وَأَبُو قَطَنٍ
[Machine] That I ask Al-Hasan about the one who narrated this hadith "The one who applies Hijama and the one on whom Hijama is performed both break their fast." So I asked him and he said it was narrated by more than one of the companions of the Prophet ﷺ.
أَنْ أَسْأَلَ الْحَسَنَ عَمَّنْ رَوَى هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ «أَفْطَرَ الْحَاجِمُ وَالْمَحْجُومُ» فَسَأَلْتُهُ فَقَالَ عَنْ غَيْرِ وَاحِدٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ
[Machine] One of the companions of the Prophet ﷺ who followed him was Sulaiman Al-Taymi.
عَنْ غَيْرِ وَاحِدٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ تَابَعَهُ سُلَيْمَانُ التَّيْمِيُّ
[Machine] From more than one of the companions of the Prophet ﷺ, they said, "The one who practices hijama (cupping therapy) and the one who is cupped can break their fast."
عَنْ غَيْرِ وَاحِدٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالُوا «أَفْطَرَ الْحَاجِمُ وَالْمَحْجُومُ»

٥۔١٧٦ ذِكْرُ الِاخْتِلَافِ عَلَى يُونُسَ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ فِي هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "The one who removes hair from the forehead and the one who does cupping have broken their fast." Bashr ibn al-Mufaddal disagreed with him.
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «أَفْطَرَ الْحَاجِمُ وَالْمَحْجُومُ» خَالَفَهُ بِشْرُ بْنُ الْمُفَضَّلِ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «أَفْطَرَ الْحَاجِمُ وَالْمَحْجُومُ»
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ passed by a man who was practicing cupping therapy in Ramadan, on the eighteenth morning. He said, "Both the person practicing cupping and the one who has it done to them have broken their fast." Abu Abdullah said, "This is a rejected hadith, and I believe that Ibn Jurayj did not hear it from Safwan."
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ مَرَّ بِرَجُلٍ يَحْتَجِمُ فِي رَمَضَانَ صَبِيحَةَ ثَمَانَ عَشْرَةَ فَقَالَ «أَفْطَرَ الْحَاجِمُ وَالْمَحْجُومُ» قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ مُنْكَرٌ وَإِنِّي أَحْسَبُ ابْنَ جُرَيْجٍ لَمْ يَسْمَعْهُ مِنْ صَفْوَانَ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The one who trims the eyebrows and the one who has their eyebrows trimmed are both cursed." And Ibrahim stopped doing it.
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَفْطَرَ الْحَاجِمُ وَالْمَحْجُومُ» وَقَفَهُ إِبْرَاهِيمُ
The Prophet ﷺ as saying: A man who cups and a man who gets himself cupped break their fast. Abu Dawud said: Ibn Thawban transmitted a similar tradition from his father on the authority of Makhul through an chain of narrators mentioned by him. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2371)
«أَفْطَرَ الْحَاجِمُ وَالْمَحْجُومُ»
[Machine] It is said, "The one with a stye and a swollen eye has broken his fast." As for me, if I had a stye, I would not have asked Abu Hurairah about this statement, as it relates to the difference of opinion regarding the narration of Ata' ibn Abi Rabah.
يُقَالُ «أَفْطَرَ الْحَاجِمُ وَالْمَحْجُومُ» وَأَمَّا أَنَا فَلَوِ احْتَجَمْتُ مَا بَالَيْتُ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ هَذَا اللَّفْظُ لِزَكَرِيَّا ذِكْرُ الِاخْتِلَافِ عَلَى عَطَاءِ بْنِ أَبِي رَبَاحٍ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «أَفْطَرَ الْحَاجِمُ وَالْمَحْجُومُ»
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The one who plucks and the one who is plucked both break their fast." This statement was followed by Dawud bin Abdul Rahman.
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «أَفْطَرَ الْحَاجِمُ وَالْمَحْجُومُ» تَابَعَهُ دَاوُدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The one who has a worn-out (or sharp) tooth and the one who is cupped have broken their fast." Abdullah ibn Razzaq and Nadhr ibn Shumail stopped at this.
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَفْطَرَ الْحَاجِمُ وَالْمَحْجُومُ» وَقَفَهُ عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ وَالنَّضْرُ بْنُ شُمَيْلٍ
أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَطَاءٌ لَمْ يَسْمَعْهُ مِنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ
The Prophet ﷺ as saying: A man who cups and a man who gets himself cupped break their fast. Abu Dawud said: Ibn Thawban transmitted a similar tradition from his father on the authority of Makhul through an chain of narrators mentioned by him. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2371)

سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ
[Machine] About Ibn Jurayj's companionship with Amr ibn Dinar regarding that.
عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ لِمُتَابَعَةِ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ إِيَّاهُ عَلَى ذَلِكَ

«أَفْطَرَ الْحَاجِمُ وَالْمَحْجُومُ»
[Machine] Abu Abdur-Rahman opposed them, Khalid ibn Abdullah differed from them and made him say the words of Ata.
أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ خَالَفَهُمَا خَالِدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ فَجَعَلَهُ مِنْ قَوْلِ عَطَاءٍ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «أَفْطَرَ الْحَاجِمُ وَالْمَحْجُومُ»
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The one who plucks eyebrows and the one who gets eyebrows plucked are both cursed." And Al-Hasan Ibn Musa narrated it.
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَفْطَرَ الْحَاجِمُ وَالْمَحْجُومُ» وَقَفَهُ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى
[Machine] "The determined person and the cautious person agreed, according to Abd al-Wahid ibn Ziyad."
«أَفْطَرَ الْحَاجِمُ وَالْمَحْجُومُ» وَافَقَهُ عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ بْنُ زِيَادٍ
Abu Dawud said “I heard Muhammad bin Isa narrating this tradition who said Mu’tamar narrated it to us. And he (Mu’tamar) said “ I heard Al Hakam bin Aban narrating this tradition. He did not mention the name of Ibn ‘Abbas. Abu Dawud said “Al Hussain bin Huraith wrote to me saying “Al Fadl bin Musa narrated from Ibn ‘Abbas to the same effect from the Prophet ﷺ. عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "The one with a unibrow should pluck it, and the one with bushy eyebrows should trim them." Muhammad ibn Yusuf disagreed with him.
قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «أَفْطَرَ الْحَاجِمُ وَالْمَحْجُومُ» خَالَفَهُ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ
[Machine] We hear that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The one who trims his mustache and the one who plucks his armpit hair." Abu 'Abdur-Rahman Laith ibn Abi Sulaym said, "His hadith is not used as evidence," and it has been narrated from 'Ata' from Ibn 'Abbas that this is in contradiction to this.
نَسْمَعُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «أَفْطَرَ الْحَاجِمُ وَالْمُسْتَحْجِمُ» قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ لَيْثُ بْنُ أَبِي سُلَيْمٍ لَا يُحْتَجُّ بِحَدِيثِهِ وَقَدْ رُوِيَ عَنْ عَطَاءٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ خِلَافُ هَذَا
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ once got cupped with the blood of a camel while he was fasting during the sacred month. It has also been narrated from Ibn Abbas that he did not consider cupping to be harmful for a fasting person.
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ «احْتَجَمَ بِلَحْيِ جَمَلٍ وَهُوَ صَائِمٌ مُحْرِمُ» وَقَدْ رُوِيَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّهُ كَانَ لَا يَرَى بِالْحِجَامَةِ لِلصَّائِمِ بَأْسًا
[Machine] "That the Prophet, ﷺ , married while in a state of ihram."
أَنَّ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «تَزَوَّجَ وَهُوَ مُحْرِمٌ»
[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ married Maymunah while in the state of ihram. Sufyan ibn Habib sent this.
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ «تَزَوَّجَ مَيْمُونَةَ وَهُوَ مُحْرِمٌ» أَرْسَلَهُ سُفْيَانُ بْنُ حَبِيبٍ
[Machine] "That the Prophet ﷺ married while in a state of ihram" is mentioned in the different opinions of Al-Awza'i regarding it.
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ «نَكَحَ وَهُوَ مُحْرِمٌ» ذِكْرُ الِاخْتِلَافِ عَلَى الْأَوْزَاعِيِّ فِيهِ
"The Prophet married Maimunah when he was in Ihram." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2837)
«تَزَوَّجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَيْمُونَةَ وَهُوَ مُحْرِمٌ»
[Machine] It is reported that the Prophet ﷺ married Maimuna while being in a state of Ihram. He was followed by Ibn Ishaq.
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ «تَزَوَّجَ مَيْمُونَةَ وَهُوَ مُحْرِمٌ» تَابَعَهُ ابْنُ إِسْحَاقَ
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ married Maymuna while in the state of ihram. The popular opinion is from Ata' narrating from Ibn Abbas that the Prophet ﷺ performed the acts of tahallul while in the state of ihram.
قَدْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «تَزَوَّجَ مَيْمُونَةَ وَهُوَ مُحْرِمٌ» وَالْمَشْهُورُ عَنْ عَطَاءٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ احْتَجَمَ وَهُوَ مُحْرِمٌ
Ibn ‘Abbas said The Prophet ﷺ had himself cupped when he was in the sacred state(wearing ihram). (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1835)
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ «احْتَجَمَ وَهُوَ مُحْرِمٌ»
"Prophet was treated by means of cupping when he was in Ihram." (Diaf) Chpater 93. Cupping To Treat The Muhrim For A Disease he Is Suffering From (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2847)
سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ يَقُولُ «احْتَجَمَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ وَهُوَ مُحْرِمٌ» ثُمَّ قَالَ بَعْدُ أَخْبَرَنِي طَاوُسُ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ احْتَجَمَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ وَهُوَ مُحْرِمٌ
The Prophet ﷺ was cupped while he was in a state of Ihram. (Using translation from Bukhārī 5695)
«احْتَجَمَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ مُحْرِمٌ»
Ibn ‘Abbas said The Prophet ﷺ had himself cupped when he was in the sacred state(wearing ihram). (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1835)
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ «احْتَجَمَ وَهُوَ مُحْرِمٌ»
5.180 [Machine] The variations of narrators in the hadeeth of Abu Musa Abdullah ibn Qais regarding cupping for the fasting person.
٥۔١٨٠ ذِكْرُ اخْتِلَافِ النَّاقِلِينَ لِخَبَرِ أَبِي مُوسَى عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ فِي الْحِجَامَةِ لِلصَّائِمِ
[Machine] I entered upon Abu Musa during the night while he was performing the Tahajjud prayer. I said to him, "Wasn't this during the day?" He replied, "I had bled and I am fasting, and I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, 'The one experiencing bleeding and the one who is experiencing a nosebleed should break their fast.'" Abu 'Abdur-Rahman said, "This is an error. It has been corrected by Hafs. He reported to us from Husain bin Mansur, who reported to us from Hafs, who reported to us from Sa'id, from Matar, from Bakr bin Abdullah, from Abu Rafi', who narrated it from Abu Musa without attributing it to the Prophet ﷺ ."
دَخَلْتُ عَلَى أَبِي مُوسَى لَيْلًا وَهُوَ يَحْتَجِمُ فَقُلْتُ أَلَا كَانَ هَذَا نَهَارًا؟ قَالَ أُهَرِيقَ دَمِي وَأَنَا صَائِمٌ وَقَدْ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «أَفْطَرَ الْحَاجِمُ وَالْمَحْجُومُ» قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ هَذَا خَطَأٌ وَقَدْ وَقَفَهُ حَفْصٌ 3196 أَخْبَرَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ عَنْ مَطَرٍ عَنْ بَكْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنْ أَبِي رَافِعٍ عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى أَنَّهُ قَالَ وَلَمْ يَرْفَعْهُ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «أَفْطَرَ الْحَاجِمُ وَالْمَحْجُومُ»
[Machine] Abu Musa was seen at night with a black face mask. It was said to him, "If this was during the day." He said, "Indeed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'The one wearing a black face mask and the one wearing a white face mask break their fast.'"
دُخِلَ عَلَى أَبِي مُوسَى بِلَيْلٍ وَهُوَ يَحْتَجِمُ فَقِيلَ لَهُ لَوْ كَانَ هَذَا نَهَارًا قَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «أَفْطَرَ الْحَاجِمُ وَالْمَحْجُومُ»
[Machine] I entered upon Abu Musa while he was performing Ihtikam (a specific type of night prayer), so I said, "Why is he doing this during the day?" He replied, "Are you commanding me to shed my blood while I am fasting? I have heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, 'The one who performs Ihtikam and the one who is preventing others from doing so both break their fast.'"
دَخَلْتُ عَلَى أَبِي مُوسَى وَهُوَ يَحْتَجِمُ لَيْلًا فَقُلْتُ هَلَّا كَانَ هَذَا نَهَارًا؟ فَقَالَ تَأْمُرُنِي أَنْ أُهَرِيقَ دَمِي وَأَنَا صَائِمٌ وَقَدْ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «أَفْطَرَ الْحَاجِمُ وَالْمَحْجُومُ»
5.181 [Machine] The mention of differences regarding Bakr bin Abdullah al-Muzani in it.
٥۔١٨١ ذِكْرُ الِاخْتِلَافِ عَلَى بَكْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْمُزَنِيِّ فِيهِ
[Machine] I entered upon Abu Musa while he was covering himself at night. I said, "Wasn't this during the day?" He said, "Are you ordering me to spill my blood while I am fasting?" Humaid Al-Tawil contradicted him.
دَخَلْتُ عَلَى أَبِي مُوسَى وَهُوَ يَحْتَجِمُ لَيْلًا فَقُلْتُ أَلَا كَانَ هَذَا نَهَارًا؟ قَالَ «تَأْمُرُنِي أَنْ أُهَرِيقَ دَمِي وَأَنَا صَائِمٌ؟» خَالَفَهُ حُمَيْدٌ الطَّوِيلُ
[Machine] He entered upon Abu Musa while he was the governor of Basra during sunset and found him eating dates and ripe dates. He (Abu Musa) said, "Didn't you fast?" He said, "Are you ordering me to pour out my blood while I am fasting?"
أَنَّهُ دَخَلَ عَلَى أَبِي مُوسَى وَهُوَ أَمِيرٌ عَلَى الْبَصْرَةِ عِنْدَ الْمَغْرِبِ فَوَجَدَهُ يَأْكُلُ تَمْرًا وَكَامِخًا قَالَ احْتَجَمْتُ قَالَ أَلَا احْتَجَمْتَ نَهَارًا؟ قَالَ «تَأْمُرُنِي أَنْ أُهَرِيقَ دَمِي وَأَنَا صَائِمٌ؟»
5.182 [Machine] The Variations of Narrators in Reporting the News of Abdullah ibn Abbas that the Prophet ﷺ Performed I'tikaf While Fasting
٥۔١٨٢ ذِكْرُ اخْتِلَافِ النَّاقِلِينَ لِخَبَرِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ احْتَجَمَ وَهُوَ صَائِمٌ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed cupping while he was fasting. Yunus ibn Abdul-A'la informed us, he said: Ibn Wahb narrated to us, he said: Ibn Abi Dhi'b narrated to me from Al-Hasan ibn Zaid, from Ikrimah, from Ibn Abbas that the Prophet ﷺ performed cupping while he was fasting.
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ احْتَجَمَ وَهُوَ صَائِمٌ أَخْبَرَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ «احْتَجَمَ وَهُوَ صَائِمٌ»
[Machine] The Prophet performed hijama (cupping therapy) in a place called "Lahyu Jamalin" while he was fasting.
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ «احْتَجَمَ بِمَكَانٍ يُقَالُ لَهُ لَحْيُ جَمَلٍ وَهُوَ صَائِمٌ»
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ had himself cupped when he was fasting. Abu Dawud said: Wuhaib b. Khalid narrated a similar tradition from Ayyub through a different chain of narrators. Ja'far b. Rabi'ah and Hisham, that is, Ibn Hassan, narrated a similar tradition from 'Ikrimah on the authority of Ibn 'Abbas. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2372)
