5. Fasting
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ used to experience dawn while he was in a state of sexual impurity, then he would perform ghusl (ritual purification) and observe fasting.
[Machine] Aisha and Umm Salamah told me, they said: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to experience the dawn while in a state of ritual impurity from intimate relations with his wives. Then he would perform ghusl (ritual purification) and observe his fast for the day." Qutaybah bin Sa'id, however, contradicted this statement.
[Machine] The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ used to experience the dawn while he was in a state of impurity after being intimate with his wives, then he would perform ablution and observe fasting.
[Machine] My father and I entered upon Aisha and Umm Salamah. They said, "Indeed, the Prophet ﷺ used to wake up in a state of janabah (ritual impurity due to sexual activity) and then observe fasting."
[Machine] Aisha and Hafsah reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would wake up in the morning while being junub (having attained sexual defilement without performing ghusl), and would then observe fasting for the day.
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to wake up in a state of sexual impurity without having a wet dream, but that did not prevent him from fasting.
(At times) in Ramadan the Prophet ﷺ used to take a bath in the morning not because of a wet dream and would continue his fast. (Using translation from Bukhārī 1930)
