[Machine] Aisha and Hafsah reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would wake up in the morning while being junub (having attained sexual defilement without performing ghusl), and would then observe fasting for the day.  

الكبرى للنسائي:٢٩٥٩أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرٌ عَنْ عِيسَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدٌ وَهُوَ ابْنُ أَبِي لَيْلَى عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أُمَيَّةَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ وَهُوَ ابْنُ شِهَابٍ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ

عَنْ عَائِشَةَ وَحَفْصَةَ أَنَّهُمَا قَالَتَا كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «يُدْرِكُهُ الصُّبْحُ وَهُوَ جُنُبٌ مِنْ أَهْلِهِ ثُمَّ يُتِمُّ صَوْمَهُ»

Yahya related to me from Malik from Abd Rabbih ibn Said from Abu Bakr ibn Abd ar-Rahman ibn al-Harith ibn Hisham from A'isha and Umm Salama, the wives of the Prophet ﷺ that the Prophet ﷺ used to get up in the morning junub from intercourse, not a dream, in Ramadan, and then he would fast."
