5. Fasting
٥۔ كِتَابُ الصِّيَامِ
The Prophet ﷺ as saying: A man who cups and a man who gets himself cupped break their fast. Abu Dawud said: Ibn Thawban transmitted a similar tradition from his father on the authority of Makhul through an chain of narrators mentioned by him. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2371)
«أَفْطَرَ الْحَاجِمُ وَالْمَحْجُومُ»
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "The one who removes facial hair and trims the mustache should break his fast." Ash'ath ibn 'Abd al-Malik disagreed with this and instead reported it from al-Hasan who narrated it from Usamah ibn Zayd. However, no one else continued this narration except for us. We learned it through his narration.
